A secluded hotel in nice surroundings with plenty of parking availability and wifi. Staff friendly with easy check-in and information on breakfast and meal times. The hotel does need some modernisation, we had a family room which was a reasonable size. There was a strong alcahol/beer smell upon entering our room, and we noticed the carpet wasn't in a very good condition. A good steam clean on the carpets 1 to 2 times a year would give it a good freshening up for sure. Also, banning people from taking alcahol to their rooms would be a good idea as I think guests (especially at weddings) are spilling them and leaving them saturate into the carpets. The breakfast at the hotel was good and didn't have to wait long. The staff was pleasant, and the lady serving breakfast was very friendly and efficient and is a credit to the hotel. All in all, the hotel is an average hotel that needs some modernisation, but I'm sure this can easily be done over time. (Definitely new carpets in the room) and new furniture.

The location was a lovely rural setting. The building had some charm about it. The proprietors were willing to facilitate a late arrival, as the ferry didn’t get into Fishguard until 21:30. I was allocated Room 1 which is directly above the lobby. It was a pleasantly furnished room, but unfortunately the soundproofing was really poor and I could hear the front door downstairs slamming shut and conversations were audible too. I did get some rest and the breakfast was included in the price. They were reasonably accommodating of vegetarian diets, but I have to say it wasn’t the best hotel breakfast I had experienced. Shrink wrapped croissants rather than freshly baked ones are not great!

Just want to say thank you for a lovely Christmas Day meal. The food was outstanding, more than any one person could ever eat. Quality of food high and served by attentive staff. Ambiance just right, cosy and warm. Tables set out at good distance, background music so you could talk and hear each other throughout. The cheese and fruit etc after meal was a lovely touch only wish I could eat more. Hoping you provide the same opportunity to enjoy next Christmas, as a family of x6 we would love to come back again for 2024.
Thank you all staff and owners for your hard work. As an NHS worker and visiting today after my Christmas Eve night shift I know the sacrifices staff give to serve and personally want to say thank you for making my Christmas day that much easier not having to cook, we all thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal xxxxxx keep up the good work xxxxx

Stayed here with a group for five nights. Room never freshened up, if you need anything like fresh towels or tea etc you must ask. Terrible food, overcooked, not fresh tasting, OJ in a carton, packaged baked goods, I could go on, just not good food at all. The female staff was pleasant and helpful, The owner and manager are not, to say the least. I would not have chosen to stay here in the first place, and I will never stay here again. The grounds are lovely, and it is quiet, but this place has some issues. Perhaps Covid related? Not sure....

Firstly, when trying to book stay and contacting the hotel we were advised to call back in 1 hour due to being very busy with a wedding activities presumably a meal at the time? (was not our fault there was no one to cover reception in this period). However when calling back and given specific codes to apply these also did not function as expected and the manager / reception person was abrupt and not very helpful. However we finally booked at this time under duress. Although covid restrictions had now been lifted by the first minister prior they were still offering breakfast in you room with the cooked item served in a polystyrene container what you would expect to be served at McDonalds, whilst other items were loose and all being served in a paper carrier bag. Although breakfast was served in you room as advised upon arrival (reported upon arrival due to some people having had covid the pervious week) but, the hotel is still functioning?) we were then asked if we would like to book a table for evening in the main hotel. (Work that out for yourself if you can). Although you are advised to open all windows to allow good ventilation this window did not function correctly so could not be left open in a safe condition throughout the day. It was also a mainly a self maintain room with all required items towels, toilet rolls etc being left on table in the adjacent hall along with waste bins for which rubbish to be deposited. And to complete our visit, woken up by dogs barking on our final morning All in all a very poor service "Would we stay again No"

We stayed here for two nights, unsure and concerned about safety during this pandemic our expectations were exceeded and the entire staff did everything they could to make us feel safe.
Set in the countryside a few miles north of the Cleddau Bridge the hotel is set in lovely grounds with plenty of car parking space. There is plenty of room to socially distance both indoors and outside in the lovely garden.
Our rooms were spotless and comfortable with lovely views over the countryside and all the amenities one would expect in a hotel room. As covid restrictions prevented the rooms being serviced extra supplies of tea, coffee, milk, etc. were available at reception.
Breakfast was delivered punctually outside of our bedroom doors and consisted of a breakfast bap, piece of fruit, pastry, yoghurt, small piece of cheese plus water and a fruit juice. Certainly enough to set one up for the day.
Our evening menu was arranged with a fixed menu with vegetarian option and was served quickly and efficiently by the staff and was certainly sufficient for even the heartiest of appetites. The only negative was that to order drinks you had to scan a QR code with your phone to access an ‘app’ and then select and pay online. Although initially challenging for some of us once set up the system worked very well. We shall certainly be returning in the future.

My wife and I arrived for a 2 night stay for her birthday I wrote to the hotel before our stay to ensure the room that was advertised a premium double was what we would get I had NO REPLY from the hotel. When we arrived we were given a key for room 25 which was on the ground floor and looking across the rear car park it was also a very dark small room never a premium double. I complained to the receptionist and asked for a manager but nobody available. I was given a second room, number 8 that was as bad but had a better view. By now I was asking for my money back but I had booked through booking.com so I complained to them. Eventually they offered us room 8 which was slightly bigger but never 195sq ft and had a part view of the beautiful scenery available. The breakfast was not up to a standard you would expect,I asked for poached eggs on toast which came on two plates one with two hard poached eggs and the toast on another. My wife was upset but we attempted to make the most of a bad situation by staying out as long as possible not even enjoying the grounds. My complaint is on going and booking.com have contacted the hotel on numerous occasions but the hotel has not replied. I would not recommend this dated badly run hotel. The only positives are the grounds the parking it was clean.

Recently visited this hotel and on the positive side is the quiet location, beautifully kept grounds and a reasonable hotel building.
Unfortunately it all changed at the point of check in.
The hotel are using Covid as an excuse for poor service, lack of staff and keeping costs down. Breakfast is delivered to your bedroom in a paper bag, your rooms are not serviced at all, my colleagues were resident for two weeks and the breakfast order was wrong at least 50% of the time, their rooms were not serviced (even on a two week stay), The bar closes at 10pm and the few staff there are are under pressure and consequently not very attentive..... or interested in any issues.
At the height of Covid some of this could have been forgiven, but as the hotel are serving full meals in their open restaurant on an evening without restriction, there are no Covid restrictions in place at the bar or communal areas, it is therefore obviously a cost saving for the hotel, nothing else. When questioned about the breakfast and plans for the future, we were informed there were no plans for a breakfast service in the forthcoming months.
For anyone considering stopping here, I would recommend checking with the hotel re the level of service before booking. I would never recommend anyone booking a Travelodge instead of a hotel, but on this occasion that would have been a better choice. All of this is a pity as the hotel has great potential, but it is being very badly ran by the current manager.

We stayed due to friends having their wedding reception. Which was a lovely day … But Where do we start on the hotel itself…. The grounds on which beggars teach sit on are stunning …but …. The hotel has an underwhelming bar and overwhelming prices!! Hotel extremely out dated…we stayed in room 10 …bed is a very small double…walls were dirty .. the front door has a huge gap underneath and let’s light in from the main hallway all night…. We went to bed a little earlier due to travelling and the rooms have no sound proofing at all. Dated decor….wallpaper hanging off wall …plug sockets exposed …shower not fitted properly… we had issues with the television remote not working ..which was never resolved. Breakfast was shocking …..cheap bacon which was undercooked …cheap sausage …hash browns dripping in grease …and the continental breakfast was laughable. We will not be visiting again ,.. and cannot recommend…I’m sure it was a great place to stay in the 70’s. I believe that due to the issues the rooms are very overpriced ..to match the bar prices!!

We have both stayed at this hotel overnight on Saturday , the hotel and grounds are lovely, they are trying their best to book people in with COVID still around. We had a lovely meal and a drink in the bar, however, I think the breakfast brought to your bedroom door in a takeaway bag is over the top. If they can book up to 60 people in for an evening meal they should be able to allow people to eat breakfast in the choice of 2 rooms. We refused this and we had our breakfast downstairs as did three other couples.
