Another excellent stay. We were running late due to traffic and risked missing the kitchen open hours. We need not have worried as one of the staff rang us to check if we were okay. She then helped us choose our meal choices to ensure the kitchen could be preparing them as we drove the last 20 miles. Excellent service... More

Stayed at the hotel for three nights. Beautiful accommodation. Staff falling over themselves to be helpful. Good choice of drinks. Great food - really loved the steaks. Will be returning in the fairly near future.

First time we've visited the Talbot Hotel even though we live about 5 miles away! Should have gone before, they served an excellent Sunday lunch; the soup starter was lovely and the roast beef and lamb were very good. Plenty of vegetables to choose from. We were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely return.

Evening meal, just walked in on a Saturday night for food, they were busy but had a table. Fast service and friendly staff. Food was really nice, good value for money, good sized portions. Will definitely be retuning.

I found this hotel by chance when looking for a convenient place to stay near Powis Castle. It is a very friendly comfortable hotel and breakfast was lovely. Berriew is a beautiful village well worth a visit.

Stayed here with my fiance recently to attend a local wedding. The outside of the hotel is quite nice and the pub area looked very cozy (although we unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy it). We had booked a double room and when we arrived were led up two steep staircases to our room. I don't mind a pub room,... More

Had a lovely stay here with running pals, the staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Evening meals were tasty too and good value for money. A lovely location and friendly pub atmosphere. We had comfy double room with a huge bathroom, would stay here again.

We booked 2x twin rooms - rooms were OK, nothing special but for the price you definitely cannot complain. Very old in style, I seem to remember the barman said it was originally built in the 16th(?) century! Spacious enough room, compact bathroom but perfectly clean and a decent shower. There was a bit of pub noise from outside and... More
