Travelling back from the Lake District my husband and I were so hungry we could have eaten a scabby horse. Luckily we didn't have to because the masons arms gave us an excellent Sunday roast with amazing gravy ( and I know my gravy). We were even more delighted when the chef came out with more roast potatoes and gravy....

Excellent, attentive service very helpful and did not rush us despite a group of 30 arriving whilst we were there. Good choice of food and very reasonable prices. visited many times before as a favourite of my parents and would recommend for mid range dining. Did not stay so cannot comment on hotel facilities but restaurant is fine.

This is my old local, I still go back for tea now and again because it's better than my own village local! I've been eating here since I first moved to Bridgend over eight years ago and it is the most consistent establishment I know, always great food, huge portions and really lovely waiting staff. Yes it may be a...

Restaurant is average, food is ok, a bit tasteless and seems churned out just like coming off a conveyer belt. Food rating is 3, this is about right if you like hairy potatoes. Christmas menu wasn't bad, not badly presented and hot or cold depending on choice. Slightly overpriced for what is on offer.

Haven't been here for sometime but quite honestly this place knocks spots off many eateries I've been to! The whole place is classy and charming plenty of staff and the food very well presented and cooked well. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again....and soon!!!!

Great food never a disappointment. Been here loads of times. Portions are big and always nice and reasonably priced. The weekday 2 courses for £10 menu is great value. Staff are friendly and the place itself is nice.

Another very pleasant evening wining and dining with some close friends. Great choice on the menu, fab desserts and friendly attentive staff who served us perfectly. My only small gripe is the toilets are little cramped , but clean and tidy.
