We were staying in the Ardnamurchan for 6 nights and walked here (30) minutes every night! Absolutely loved the Argour Ales. We just ate one night as we were self-sufficient and on a tight budget, but the 'supper' night was really excellent!! Lovely to see locals in for that too, and great to see all the community connections. The staff were quite simply excellent - 3 young women - their efficiency was astonishing. They were very pleasant and helpful. But above all... just great workers. There are so many issues around trying to get decent staff at the moment. I hope these young people are put up locally and don't have difficulties with accommodation etc., as that is such a challenge. I loved watching them. One of them had a 'they/them' lanyard and it is great to see such inclusiveness in such a remote location. Keep doing the Ardgour ales, and they way they are presented... all lines up at the bar is great!!

Firstly let us praise the young lady in charge who unfortunately we forget her name. She had coloured hair. She did an excellent job on her own in a busy hotel. Smiling, happy, obliging, experienced and just overall very professional. Great service. The bedroom was lovely and the bed very comfy and wow what a shower the water pressure was fantastic. ( although please tighten up the bolts on the bed as very wobbly….room 4) The food was first class. The best we have had in a very long time. Served in good time and just lovely. Breakfast again was lovely and set us off on our travels with a full tummy. Well done team Kilchoan. Plus our little dog absolutely loved her visit.

The Hotel is situated in the far West of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, not far from the lighthouse at the most westerly point of the British mainland. Therefore it is remote and relatively inaccessible. I salute the Owners and Staff for providing such a welcome haven. Our room on the second floor (no lift) had fine views to the South. It was very simply furnished but had the essentials. It and the bathroom were well decorated and spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The heating was only just able to deliver sufficient warmth - there were high winds and rain at that time. The bar and eating areas were warm and comfortable and it was great to see that many locals came in to enjoy the fare giving a realy cheery ambiance. I have known Ardnamurchan since my youth and love its relative emptiness and the amazing willdife on land and along the coasts. I would be happy to return to the Kilchoan Hotel and recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our way up to Outer Hebrides, so we could do a day trip over to Mull on the small ferry - which was a beautiful trip. We booked the large front bedroom with a view of the sea and four poster bed with seating so we could relax, and it was very good. Food in the bar/restaurant was excellent, staff were really friendly and polite and chatty. Breakfast was also excellent - we stayed in a few hotels on our way up to and back from Scotland and this was the only one that offered fresh fruit for breakfast. We were asked to order breakfast which I think is a great idea as it avoids wasting food - we ordered fruit bowls and they were really full bowls of very fresh fruit. Afterwards I wished I had asked how the hotel got all its supplies as the only road to Kilchoan is a windy single lane with passing places around a mountain - or maybe it came from Mull on the ferry? I believe there is another - very expensive hotel (castle) in Kilchoan, but to say this is the only 'normal' hotel near the ferry terminal I think it does very well to provide such good food and have such high standards. By its nature area is very quiet, but hotel itself also very quiet.

Great service, v nice room, amazing shower.... lots of tea and coffee, jammy dodgers , warm, amazing breakfast, great pack lunch breakfast on the 2nd day. Even helped with a walking stick when I hurt my ankle falling throw a cattle grid. Food is good pub and good portions. I can't give 4.9 as there was 1 tiny niggle ie no plug or extension lead near the bed to plug your phone in. That really is the only negative I could give. Great work, great service, big room. What is not to like.

Popped in for lunch as staying in the area for a short break. Service was friendly and efficient, food was served promptly and was very tasty. Unfortunately didn’t have room for pudding! Dog was made very welcome. Pretty quiet at Sunday lunchtime but it was October.

We stayed here for 3 nights & thought it was really good. Although more of a pub with rooms, rather than a traditional hotel, our room was spotlessly clean, very generously sized & had fantastic views. Excellent shower. Breakfast each morning (which you have to order the night before) was also excellent. We had our evening meal here 2 nights and again the food was great. I was impressed with the veggie options (makes a change from pasta!) especially the veggie haggis which was really tasty. What really sets this place apart though is the staff who are absolutely brilliant. All the staff on duty throughout our stay were really efficient & friendly, without being obtrusive. Only suggestion would be perhaps some background music in the breakfast room as it felt a bit awkward being deathly quiet with just the scraping of cutlery, but otherwise a lovely stay.

We ate here twice while we were in the area. There is a good solid menu with good variety and some local fresh seafood specials. It’s good value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful, Lucy looked after us on both occasions and was very chatty and affable.

We went to this pub twice during our stay at Portuairk, the food was really good, the fish and chips particularly so. Very friendly and helpful service from all members of staff. A pub that 8s still a proper local, whilst still doing all it needs to do fur the holidaymakers. Thank you.
