We enjoyed a beautiful meal at Barley Bree last Friday, we were staying in a cottage a few miles away and it was recommended. What a treat it proved to be, welcoming staff, a cheery fire and comfortable lounge to enjoy a pre dinner drink and choose. Beautifully presented, each course was mouth watering and so carefully cooked. Next time...

What a beautiful rustic restaurant set in Perth shire in pretty village of Muthill. The chef is an award winning French chef and the food is absolutely faultless beautifully presented and wonderful flavours.. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. I cannot wait to go back as the menu changes regularly.

We hadn't been for a meal at the Barley Bree for some time due to other commitments. However we were delighted to find that the food and service was of the high standard that we remembered. All in all a very pleasant experience.

I booked dinner bed and breakfast by phone, and advised we had gift vouchers to spend however payment for the bed and breakfast was immediately requested and I paid for this by bank card. We had a good enough dinner and a lovely breakfast. Our dinner and wine bill came to £169.00 and we presented the breakfast waitress with £200.00 pounds...

Thank you for writing this review on Trip advisor as it alerted us to the mistake that was made at the time of your booking. When you made your reservation and informed us you had gift vouchers - no deposit should have been taken - however this did happen, which we were unaware of at the time of your check-out....

So pleased you enjoyed our food - we think it is good value for the quality. Sadly we cannot make our location more accessible - so taxis it is for those who come from further afield.

Our superior room was very well appointed with a great bathroom containing a roll top bath and separate shower. Dinner was excellent, the dishes were innovative, interesting and exciting. Breakfast was also delicious. The staff were very helpful in explaining which dishes contained nuts, as I have an allergy, which was very reassuring. We enjoyed our visit very much and...

Fantastic food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We decided to make a night of it and spent the night in room 3 which was the ideal size for the two of us. Dinner itself was excellent, we chose the tomato soup and grouse breast for starters; saddle of venison and hake for mains; apple tart tatin for desert. Good...

The Barley bree management/owner really needs to treat every single customer with care and thanks. This unfortunately did not happen on both occasions I have visited this establishment. From the moment I walked in my quirky sense of style was frowned upon. The food wasn't up to scratch and the drinks super expensive. We went for a walk in the...

I was away in the month of August but having questioned my staff, and my husband, we have been unable to establish who you are, and what exactly was the nature of the problem when you stayed with us. Perhaps if you would like to contact us directly via email we could deal with your complaints.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Barley Bree located at the heart of a pretty little Scottish village called Muthill. My husband and I were travelling in the area as part of a group of golfers all from Hong Kong experiencing what was affectionately called the "Home of Golf Tour" - one of the highlights of which included...
