This is a wonderful hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and warm. The breakfasts are everything you might dream of when you conjure up visions of a real Scottish breakfast: bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans - the lot! I had magnificent kippers. We came...

Stopped here for some dinner whilst staying in the area. The food was nice with good generous portions. It was reasonably priced and the place was spotless but what set this place apart from other places I've dined, was the staff, in particular Paula who I think is one of the owners. She was so friendly and brilliant with our...

Had a child free night last night and decided to try the Galloway arms for tea with the mrs. Cannot fault the food at all. I had the rump steak and Julie had the chicken. Julie loved the chicken and my steak was cooked perfectly (there was just too much!!). The service was 5* as well. Definitely recommend to anyone...

Probably the most un-enjoyable meal out I have had in a while. Vegetables were clearly microwaved and the chicken I had was flavourless. The same as my Mum's Salmon. Wouldn't return again, we live close by and the food used to be good here but clearly not anymore.

very very sorry to hear your negative review. We always like to hear feedback whether it be positive or negative and we always aim to improve where we can. Our Salmon is purchased from a local fish supplier so its very disappointing that you didn't enjoy it or by your comments any of the meal. We have started using a...

On the news that the Galloway was "under new management" we decided to go back to our old routine of having Christmas Dinner there - something we had done for a number of years but stopped as the old management kept hiking the prices and cutting down on portions. On arrival we ere made welcome with a glass of fizz...

We heard it was new owners at the galloway arms and decided to give it a go last night for my partners birthday. We're so glad we did, the food was absolutely delicious, even the child's meal was yummy! Our waitress was lovely and friendly, even showing daughter to the loo so I could finish my meal, just wee things...

I didn't stay here(but i have been told by friends that the rooms are very good), but called in for a family meal on Saturday. Really pleased we did. The new owners are doing a great job. The Tennants lager was as good as Tennants can be! And i was told it was cracking pint of Best. Our parents arrived...

Really disappointed this evening, bar is now closed which is where we previously had our meals. Sat in the other room for food where people were playing pool, playing the fruit machine, and the football was on the tv all whilst we were trying to have a relaxed meal. Staff were lovely, menu was disappointing and food was very average....

We are very disappointed you had a negative experience with us we do try our best to accommodate everyone. It is true the rear of the hotel has been closed to open the bar, front foyer and dining room in the front of the hotel which gives people options of where to sit and eat as not everyone likes to...
