A large group of us had arranged a meal here after a day out. Because of our numbers (28) we had chosen our menu in advance and arrived at the time arranged. The majority of our group had ordered a main course and dessert...a few starter and main etc.etc. The people who hadn't ordered a starter waited nearly an hour...

Hi there Very pleased that your food was excellent on your trip but at the same time disappointed that you had to wait so long. I think next time we need to see about taking drinks orders at the table as we were very aware on the evening that service was going slowly as we like everyone to be seated...

Just returned from The Galloway after attending a party at nearby Grapes. Paula and Stuart and all the staff very accommodating. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble or a problem. When we arrive asked about the availability of a taxi to and from our party later in the evening. Paula very quickly informed us that she would get someone...

We have been going here for the last 8 years. The staff were always friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble, but since Paula has taken over the food and the service and value for money has gone up to another level. Thanks for a hugely enjoyable stay, see you next year! It was even sunny!

Living locally to this hotel and knowing there are new owners now, I had my doubts, but I have to say I had a great surprise because the food was so much better than before, the service was great, the young guy behind the bar was excellent. Plenty of different drinks, but getting Thatcher's cider on draught was the perfect...

Our second trip to this hotel, perfectly located for the wedding we were going to. Small local hotels tend to fall into one of three categories - expensive boutiques, charming personal places and total nightmares. The Galloway Arms is the middle sort; you'll get a warm welcome, a lovely cooked breakfast and a comfortable room to sleep in. I look...

Just went for evening meal as we were dtaying at caravan site over the road Big portions. My steak was nice but my husbands steak was tough. Expensive for what it was. Very average unfortunately not fulfilling it's potential.

I can't say enough about how amazing the staff and service was here! My very crazy and wonderful friends arranged a Christmas Hen Do in April! After speaking to the owners we arrived to find the private dinning area decorated from head to toe in Christmas decorations with Christmas music playing. We had a menu which had been personalised printed...

As my daughter is mad about Christmas ,for her hen weekend came round they planned a Christmas theme. When they said what they were doing the owner sent her husband into the attic to bring down their decorations. They even put on a Christmas menu complete with mince pies. Many thanks we had a wonderful evening and a delicious meal....

Went to the Galloway Arms as part of a group of 11 last night. We all had different meals and every one of us thought it was delicious. The staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. The Galloway Arms is in a great location as it sits on the A75, so is easy to get to, although far enough back to...
