My partner and I visited the hotel for a coffee after our walk. We had two coffees and cakes. The cakes were home made and I have to say, were fabulous. The service was great and the location is awesome. We are now planning to come back and stay within the next month. You have to visit this hotel, if just for the cakes and service.

The most beautiful accommodation in stunning surroundings. We received personal VIP service and enjoyed marvellous breakfasts and creative, delicious hearty dinners prepared for us with skill and thoughtfulness. A treat for body and soul. Our deluxe room was stunning with a wall of bay windows offering seaside light by day and starry sky by night. Meals were taken in the beautiful dining room close to the sea and we especially enjoyed the collection of art positioned for customers pleasure throughout the property. We enjoyed privacy and the sound of the sea on the shore a few metres away at high tide. There is nothing we don’t love about this hotel. The owners and staff are caring, attentive and take comfortable, deluxe hospitality to a unique level. We recommended a couple out walking to pop in for coffee and they stayed for lunch! A cut above the rest this one. Possibly Scotland’s biggest surprise find! Not cheap but excellent value we think.

We went for New Year' s Eve dinner to the restaurant. The food was perfect and original, the service precise and dedicated. We appreciated the choice of wines and drinks. The owners put a lot of effort in the business : well done and keep going in these difficult COVID Times.

1. Owners toddler running around reception, also heard the child in the kitchen (health and safety issues?) 2. The Proprietors flat was above mine - so I heard the child screaming for "Mama". 3. Dinner: Ordered Camembert to find it on my plate in the same box they bought it, only to find the sell-by date on the box was 1.5 months out of date. Next the main course was duck .... well, if you like your duck totally raw & utterly dripping blood, this will be for you. Latterly the Owner had the termerity to inform me that it was cooked the "French way" !!!! On paying my bill, the Owner did refund the cost of the meal. 4. The next and final issue was the bill came as a total "lump sum" instead of being itemised.... so this added insult to injury.... a debate then ensued before finding I was overcharged. The Female Owner then blamed her husband for the mistake!!!!! Needless to say I won't be returning.

We reply as follows, as your comments are completely out of context . We treated you well, we refunded your bill for your dinner because you complained. Infact your duck was perfectly cooked, other guests were extremely happy with their ducks. I examined your duck there was no blood at all and you confused the beetroot jus has been blood. We also seated you on a separate dining area because you complained you did not wish to sit with other guests. I had already explained to you that our chef had placed your baked camenbert in a rustic box for decoration purposes, there was no out of date issue. Of course your bill was a total amount but all the details were there for you to see. My husband correctly prepared your bill at the end of the evening, at your check out I deleted your entire dinner because your complaints however that is out of my good heart. In retrospect you should paid full bill. We welcome children at the hotel. They ate not allowed in the kitchen. Sometimes they are bit noisy and during Christmas they can get excited with hotel decorations. Everyone is happy and no one else complained at all.

Lovely staff but strongly recommended to try "free from" selection made by the owner which was very unpleasant and very expensive- £15.00 for 2 coffees and a slice of vegan cake which I took home and gave to the chickens. Scones however to die for. Beautiful views but very dirty floor in conservatory. Would go back again if someone else did the cooking and prices were more realistic.

We prefer you do not come back, because my gluten free, sugar free, VEGAN cake continues on our menu by huge popular demand.
