Celebrated my grandmother's 90th birthday here. Hired out a room so we could dine privately. The staff were fantastic, from the booking stage to the actual day itself. The staff attending us couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic, so delicious. I'd highly recommend using Carberry Tower for your private function.

Such a beautiful historic hotel, gorgeous gardens, very friendly welcoming staff and wonderful food made our visit very enjoyable last week. Haggis at breakfast was scrummy 😃😃 The room decor was a bit dated and maybe it could do with a bit of TLC but then again the hotel is several hundred years old and I’m sure it will be done in time - it is a listed building after all and I know that there at limitations as to what can be done. Hopefully I’ll be back there soon.

Having booked a classic double we decided to upgrade to a bigger room... the two brilliant ladies on reception let us check out four of the suites and we settled in the Royal suite which was huge and extremely comfortable. The food was brilliant, with a great variety, the service was outstanding, Sara was particularly helpful... highly recommended.

We spent two nights at Carberry Tower on our very first trip to Scotland, and it did not disappoint! From an easy checkin to assistance with ordering a taxi from the train station, Lynne at the front of house was an absolute gem, and she and the staff were just wonderful the entire time we were there. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous - we spent a lot of time wandering around in the morning just exploring nature on this lovely estate. Breakfasts were excellent, and a great way to start the day before going off for adventures in Edinburgh, which is just a short train ride away.

Unbelievable from first arrival through to a sad farewell. The most amazing wonderful experience with my sister for 3 days. The staff, food, rooms, grounds and other guests. We loved every moment and will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone and so close to the castle and Berwick. Thank you.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of features and character, staff were incredibly friendly and nothing a problem at all. Having had family travel to celebrate our Fathers Birthday, the extra touches were great! The grounds are gorgeous and lovely to wander. I would suggest NEVER booking this hotel via Agoda, they use outsourced partners to which cancelled our booking but thankfully Lynne, Front of House sorted everything for us, ensure we had what we originally booked & paid for!

It has potential but the suite we stayed was in need of a major cleaning and renovation . Stained cushions, walls and carpeting is unacceptable for the price we were charged. Please paint walls and do a deep cleaning. I found these conditions unacceptable. The public rooms are lovely although in need of some TLC and some attention to detail but on a positive note staff were friendly .. but I can’t recommend for these major reasons .

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend, it's was perfect! The hotel and the grounds are absolutely stunning, with wild rabbits everywhere you look. The room was comfy, clean and spacious. The staff at the hotel were also amazing, everyone was very nice, and nothing was too much trouble. Jenna at the bar especially was great, very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. Will be staying again!

Room Tip: If you are going into Edinburgh, get a taxi to Wallyford station and get the train. Far cheaper!
