This was our first stop on a 10 day Danube cycle trip. We took a family room, as there were 3 adults travelling and were pleased with the room size and cleanliness. The staff were friendly, offering a beer immediately and helping us with the menu and anything we needed. The cost was reasonable at €95 total including breakfast which was delicious and plentiful. I'd definitely stay again if I was passing.

Enjoyed a good, well-cooked, simple lunch and a glass of wine. Meals are reasonably priced and the staff are polite and friendly. The terrace is accessible from a side-road and is quiet and pleasant. Would eat here again if ever in the area.

Hotel Pelikan is situateThe d just on the other side of the road from te great abbey of St Martin. So this is an obvious place to stay if you plan a visit to the abbey. A lot of other activities are possible from Beyron e.g. nice walking along the 'young' Donau (Danupe) running through the village. The hotel is ok with spacy rooms. My wife and I never experienced such quietness as we did on the summers night in Beyron. Windows open.... just quiet ! This is where you get a good nights sleep. The hotel restaurant serves a number of different dishes. We had 2 different types of fish which was the top fish dining we had this July. And we have had 'some'. Excellent ! Note that it is the hotel owner (who is a cook of profession) who is preparing the food. And he does well !

Beuron and its Benedectine Abbey of St Martin were at one time, very important pilgrimage sites in Germany. We arrived in Beuron around dusk with no hotel reservation and so we stopped and asked the three older ladies we saw walking on the street. They were not local, and so they told us that they were staying at the only proper hotel in the "downtown", the Pelikan Hotel. The hotel it is housed in a nice building on the main street and one can easily see that in the heydays of pilgrimage it was a very busy place. The facilities are somewhat under used but still retain some of the nostalgia of good old times. It is a very nice hotel although, at least nowadays, very simple and spartan. Rooms are clean, good size - but no TV or internet. Very clean and functional washroom. The hotel was probably built in the 60s or early 70s and so nothing is quite new and modern, but even so it was very pleasant and comfortable. The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. Parking was free and the breakfast was included. Typical German breakfast - traditional semmeln (bread roll) with all the trimmings - from good smoked bacon to equally good cold cuts, butter...etc....etc. Everything very good and tasty!
