This valley is well worth the trip to get up to. It is full of wildlife and world-class mountain trekking, climbing etc. The hosts, Marion & Gabriel, were extremely welcoming and low key. My husband and I just spent 5 days at the wonderful Hotel du Grand Capelet. The hosts are a lovely couple, very laid back and helpful. The rooms are not fancy, but they are extremely clean and tidy and everything you need after a tiring day hiking one of the many trails in the area. The food was a real...

The hotel itself easily gets three stars, the setting gives it its fourth, and the owners give it its fifth. This hotel is located near a very remote village at the end of a crazily narrow road – with views of mountains, snow peaks and wild animals.
