This was a great find, decent size room, we had a private bathroom, rooms are clean & overall good value for money, free tea/coffee station & cold water refills which I always find is a massive positive!! The hosts are absolutely lovely, very friendly & make you feel very welcome! Everything you need is practically on your doorstep, the highlands are just beautiful & we will without a doubt be back!! They also offer hiking trips (we didn’t go on it as we had other plans but it’s a great perk I think)
The Family Room got bathroom inside.Water heater cannot adjust, the room dont have fan or aircond. Room is not soundproof. Yes u will not hear beside door but when ppl push door, walking n talking outside you will cleary hear it..very irritating. Owner living inside the house too. There around 9 room can be rent. If for sleeping only then its a right place but for privacy..NO. Walking distance to atm, diy, mynews, guardian, got free wifi n the wifi is good..around 10min to Pasar Malam, n other place for attraction n shooping around 15-20 minutes if no jam.
We stayed here while in Cameron Highlands. Standard guesthouse a bit of a walk from town centre. Very standard rooms that has the bare necessities. Clean and plenty of room. The downside is that no breakfast is included and it is a bit of a walk to the nearest breakfast opportunity. Theres no AC, but the cooler temperatures in the area makes it okay with just a fan in the room. Very helpful and friendly staff.
This guesthouse is not big; simple shared bathrooms and a nice communal space in- and outside. You can expect comfortable beds and a very nice, enthusiastic owner. He will help you out with all your questions and give you a good laugh in the meantime. His hospitality will make up for every discrepancy you might experience (although we didn't find any!)
Friendly host Jackie Chan (as he calls himself) welcomed me in the garden. He is straight forward, clear, makes jokes and is generous. Good general information about many different trails, sightseeiings and tours (f.e. Mossy Forest). You can also check the maps hanging outside. First I wanted to sleep in the single bedroom, but since there was nobody in the 6-bedded dorm, I desided to sleep over there. At night I felt cold. Beside one blanket on the bed, I could have an extra one for free. No problem at all. Only RM25 per night and good wifi. The shared bathroom is clean and has a warm shower with pressure. There is a lot of seating opportunity inside aswell at the spacious garden (there are even two loungers). TV with Fox Movies and AXN. Very enjoyable with a cup of FREE tea or coffee. The location is nearby the city centre. …
The accommodation was fine, but the host was truely terrible. The most friendly guy we met on our whole trip! From the minute we walked in, it seems like he didnt want us here. There was for example free tea and as soon we took our second glass he screamed at us... during the day when we hanged out in the lobby and had an normal conversation, he demanded that we would be quiet in an extremely inpolite way, although he himself was watching videos and eating his food at least twice as loud :/ and this were only a few examples... so yeah, would definitely not recommend this place, worst host ever!
Good: beds, enough space in the room. Bad: not clean (mold on ceiling, old bathroom Everything together, it is faded glory. Rooms are not ‘fresh’, even not clean. Not worth the money: € 25 for a night for two persons.
I arrived at the guesthouse and thought it looked okay. From the outside, it looks acceptable and the 'check-in' was fine. In fact, the staff are very friendly, so I give them credit for that. The problem lies with the room. The rooms are simply furnished, as you would expect, but the pillow had a very stale smell. I mean, really strong smell of moisture. It was so bad that I had to sleep on my hands to protect me from the smell. The other thing is that the walls are paper thin, so you can hear every little sound from every one else. I remember being awoken by the sound of some person walking along the corridor and going into the 'kitchen' area to make toast. I knew he was making toast as I could even smell it! And I heard the entire operation of the microwave oven. Of course, you hear coughing, spluttering and all kinds of other sounds. If you're a light sleeper like me, it's hell! Also, it was freezing cold when I was there. Well, there is a light blanket and the smelly pillows and that's it. I couldn't sleep properly as I was shivering. And I'm from England! Can you imagine? I was looking forward to a hot shower, but the water came out cold. Ice cold. I couldn't get the hot water to work, so I actually had a cold shower! Twice! I won't go into the details of how I coaxed myself to shower, but it took some time! Well, the positives? The service. The staff are really very nice. The coffee was okay too. Free tea and coffee for guests. They have wifi in the rooms too. But the big question, would I stay here again? No. Not if I can help it.…
It was the delightful garden and outdoor sitting area that caught our attention to look at this guesthouse and encouraged us to stay - we had earmarked another guesthouse further up the road, but we just couldn't go past the ambience of Eight Mentigi. We booked in for two nights and stayed in the large double (90RM per night). The bed was very comfortable and there was more than ample space in the room. Even though our room was right next door to the reception area, we heard very little noise. Our wonderful host, Jackie was an absolute delight, quite knowledgeable on the area and very accommodating. The guest house has a kitchen area with toasters, kettles and fridges and microwave and in the communal sitting area there is free coffee/tea and ample cups - all very clean! The only down side for us and in reality this is something we had experienced in other accommodation in CH was that the shower was only luke warm. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - the guesthouse and rooms are very clean, extra blankets are available and Jackie and staff are absolutely delightful.…
