Arguably the best quality and authentically designed hotel in Cameron Highlands. Even standard rooms are very large and elegant with a lot of space to sleep, relax, have tea or just chill on a balcony. Staff is extremely polite and friendly. However, the food choices and especially breakfast were unexpectedly disappointing. For example, even such basic things as choice of bread - was only white throughout the entire menu. We stayed only for 2 nights, which was manageable. However, anyone who stays for longer periods will definitely find food side of their stay quite limiting. One peculiar point is that the hotel provides earplugs in every room. Make sure you use them!! All rooms are facing a busy road with windows having very poor sound insulation!
Beautiful heritage boutique resort, with excellent customer service. A particular shout out to the managers at the front desk who were very professional and helpful, assisting us with booking a day tour and transfers to an affiliate hotel. High tea in the Jim Thompson tea room was also a highlight (there's a pianist!) and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the spa.
We had two great days here and loved the big and beautiful rooms also the very helpful and great staff. The restaurants were also very good and we had our first Steam Boat experience here that was really good. If we come back to Cameron Highlands we will definitely stay here again!
We recently stayed at this wonderful hotel and had an amazing experience. However, what truly sets this place apart is the exceptionally services by all staff with a special thankyou to Ravi and Phyo who went above and beyond to make all the family feel so welcome.
We stayed for 3D2N during the festive season to celebrate my birthday and wedding anniversary (this was our 2nd time here for celebrations). Thank you for the cakes and goodies. The thoughtful gestures definitely brightened up our stay. We would like to express our gratitude to the Hotel staffs: Vishnu, Ravi, Santhosh, Ganesh, Phyo, Chin, Himal, Kamal, Hosain, Shaed, Yau and the team. Their service and hospitality were commendable. The food (Christmas Eve dinner and breakfast) was delicious and we enjoyed the ambience in the Dining Room. We had lunches at Jim Thompson Tea Room, and steamboat (hotpot) dinner at Gonbei. The ingredients were fresh. We enjoyed the hearty warming meal. We truly enjoyed our stay. Hence, we have decided to come back for our celebrations this year (2023). See you, Cameron Highlands Resort~…
A very comfortable stay, and the team that welcomed and served us were friendly and aimed to please - from Yau at front desk, the team attending to guests in the restaurants (Santhosh, Himal, Phyo, Ravi, Chin, Vishnu) and the staff behind the scenes who helped with the bags and cleaned the rooms. As we stayed 2 nights on 30 and 31 Dec, we had a nice time at the bar with live music to usher in the new year. We were given party favors, a complimentary drink each and finger food. It would have been nice if the drinks were free flowing or at least given 2 glasses each.
Lovely old world hotel with a great looking golf course across the road. Clean room with a fridge & mini-bar, safe, Wifi & bathrobes. King size bed & a couple of cable channels on the TV. Plenty of lounge areas to sit about & read in. Parking out the front. Good shower although the taps in our shower both fell off. The staff are really friendly. Feed the fish. Pretty good breakfast. Afternoon tea not worth the money. Be aware that you'll receive enough clotted cream & jam for 1 scone. But you have 4. You'll have to ask for more. And then probably some more again. Good food at the local night market if you are there on the right days. Would happily stay here again. Next time I'd like to try a round of golf
It was a memorable vacation stay at the hotel with my family of four during 14to16Dec2022. The rooms are very spacious for the 2-bedrm suite, the ala carte breakfast has enough varieties for us to choose from. While waiting for the breakfast to be served, some bakes were served to us which was delectable. The steamboat dinner was awesome too because seafood was fresh and meats were premium. Portion was more than enough to share. All the staffs we met were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks goes to Phyo, who has been very hospitable during our stay. He has been very attentive to our needs and often check to see if we have enough food and paid special attention to our kids to ensure they enjoyed their meals. Overall, CHR is a good location with scenic views and it is also a short drive away from Centrum if you would like to do some shopping or cafe visits. Thank you CHR and we wish everyone at CHR a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!…
We had a wonderful 2 days stay. The ala carte breakfast was also fantastic! It has everything that one could want. They even have live pianist playing soothing music but alas unfortunately it was nearby the billiard table with rather noisy guests playing n affecting others listening to pianist.
It just happened! The duty manager himself, and a staff, helped carry all our luggage down the stairs to the carpark and loaded them in the car. In fact, Mr Yau has been extremely helpful and kind in many ways since the day we arrived. I dont do reviews at all, but this is just beyond my expectation. There were a couple of unpleasant incidents, but this small touch has made up for all and has amplified my experience in this hotel. It has left a great impression just before i leave. All i did was asked him where the bell boy who took my luggage is, and lo and behold, without hesitation, he rolled up his sleeves and got his hands dirty. In my years of travelling, even in fanciful hotels, i’ve never witnessed a manager literally “going that extra mile”. Unlike many, he’s a true gem. I came here almost 10 years ago and had an extremely memorable experience. In the last 3 days, I’ve almost wanted to give up coming back again. This changed my mind. I’m going to give this hotel one more chance, and i hope he’ll be still around when i return the next time.…
