My wife and I have just returned from two magical weeks at the fantastic HERITANCE AARAH MALDIVES. Our stay was from 19th November 2021 until our return on 5th December 2021. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate my 60th Birthday, and what a great decision that turned out to be!!!!!! Let me start by saying  hat this is the 7th visit to the Maldive, we have chosen a different resort every time. This is not our first 5 star resort in the Maldives and I do not wish to name the others, who have been fabulous too, but I have to make it clear that this resort is the best we have stayed at….. and by a long way. Our arrival at Male airport was uneventful and we breezed through Immigration and after collecting our cases we were driven to the Aadaran Lounge at the seaplane terminal ( sister hotels to the Heritance) After an hour or so, after enjoying some light refreshments , we made our way to the seaplane in the hope of finding Paradise, and we did! 45 minutes later having looked out on the amazing Indian Ocean below we landed at Heritance Aarah where our holiday truly began. It was at this point we were introduced to our Butler, Hisham.  On first impression Hisham , heappeared confident and friendly and put us at ease and explained most things about the island and hotel before whisking us off to our Beach Villa with Pool, number 126. Hisham…. First impressions count and over the course of the two weeks Hisham proved everything that the first impression implied. He was, in short FANTASTIC. All meal and trip reservations were met by him with a smile and prompt efficiency. He often visited us during meal times to check that everything was to our satisfaction and that we were having the best holiday of our lives. Even though he was wearing a mask, all the functions that Hisham performed for us, you could see the pleasure and smile in his eyes. One example of his efficiency was when I mislaid a t shirt. The was no marching around the Island searching when you are under Hishams care, a quick message to him and there was a gentle tap on the door 5 minutes later revealing Hisham with my T shirt. The man is a credit to the Heritance Aarah, he is a kind, happy , hardworking individual who took a genuine interest in us, his guests and really appeared pleased to help in any way he could. Room 126 was in a fabulous location overlooking a beautiful area of the beach and about 50 metres from the main pool area and Bar. This worked well for us because it was near the Ramba  and Ralu restaurant as well as the main Bar Bandi (  I’ll come to those in a bit), but not so near as it impacted on the quiet serenity of our beach location and own pool. The sunsets from this side of the island ( 20 minutes to walk around) were beautiful . Having the Beach Villa with pool gave us great option of being in the gorgeous blue ocean and then dipping into our own pool in seconds. Pure Bliss. Our room was tended to on a  twice daily basis by the hardworking, friendly and reliable Musa who was again a  great asset to the hotel. We asked that the room be serviced at 9am whilst we were out for breakfast and every single day the room was done upon our return . He was so precise in his task, every day the room was immaculately cleaned to the same standard , with everything “just so”. Not one thing was missed during our stay, sometimes little things like  a soap or toilet roll  can be missed etc. Not with Musa, his mantra must be “  attention to detail .” And bed decorations for my Birthday and departure , wow,  see for yourself in the photos. Our room had a nice sized flat screen tv with many channels including Star Sports HD which was great as I’m a football fan so I got to watch all the Premier league games late a night. The bed was Kingsize and comfortable with clean, good quality bedding . A brilliant Nespresso coffee machine was provided with a variety of different coffee pod flavour and strengths. It had a milk frother attached which was a nice touch making our morning cappuccino delicious. Now, the mini bar. This was replenished daily and was very well stocked indeed, whatever you had consumed was replaced. Red wine, white wine, beers, Strawberry, mango, apple  juices, milk, coke , seven up, tonic water, the list goes on. Also provided in the room was a bottle of Cava on arrival. We were also given the choice of 2 half bottles of spirits for the room , again replaced daily if you could work your way through them!! My choice was Johnny Walkers Black label whiskey and we also had a Vodka or two! The choice of cocktails on offer at the bars and restaurants meant that the room drinks were not consumed in great quantity, but it was there if we wanted them. Not forgetting two jars of Cashew nuts and two large bars of Lindt chocolate each day. Now, onto the food. This was one of the aspects that for us put this resort on a different level to the hotels that we have stayed at in the Maldives . Ramba restaurant is where you can go to if you want buffet breakfast , lunch or dinner. The choice of spread was wonderful , the quality of the food offered was spectacular . I won’t inform of all the foods we enjoyed but there was wide variety of meats fish, salads, pasta dishes. One thing of note though was the daily roast joints , Angus Beef, Leg of lamb, Roasted Ham, Roasted chicken. All cooked deliciously and what I liked was that the chefs are there ready to serve you and more than happy to place your selection on the  grill if you don’t like your meat too rare. I have found other resorts have tended to serve it the way it is, like it or not. Not here, you have it how YOU like it. Speaking of Ramba  Restaurant , it would not be fair to not comment on head waiter Ajith. What a wonderful, charming, gentle, funny young man. He looked after us like we were royalty, nothing was too much trouble, from day one he knew what we liked, where we wanted to sit and took time to always have a brief chat about our day. His team rallied around him and performed so well. I made a point of informing the General Manager of the hotel about Ajith on a couple of occasions about how impressive a young man he was and how assured he was in his work. If we are ever lucky enough to return I am sure Ajith will be higher up the management ladder and if not I’d be amazed. Ajith cares about the resort and the guests, this stands out a mile and should be recognised. Also worthy of praise is the Restaurant and Bar manager Danushka who showed a great aptitude for his work. He made himself known to us on our arrival at the resort and took time to speak with us regularly to ensure that everything was good for us, which, believe you me, it most certainly was! Whilst I am at it, Saheed from Ramba was also one who Heritance is lucky to have, great service and attitude. Another option for Breakfast, lunch or dinner is the highly impressive Ralu Restaurant , which sits on the walkway to the water villas. It is modern Mediterranean in style and serves the most delicious foods.  We enjoyed such delights as  Beefsteak, Pork Belly, Seafood Chowder, Tagliatelle , Pumpkin Ravioli, as well as a serve yourself small buffet of salads, meats  and cheeses. The  staff  were  on the ball as soon as you walked in and always remembered us by name from the outset. All who served us were polite and courteous , especially Mohan and Ashkay. Attached to the Ralu restaurant was a Rum Bar where we met and were educated by the very approachable and professional Sommelier Arnav. This guy certainly knows his stuff, be it fine wines or superb rums. Having chatted with Arnav for some time in the rum bar, I felt it only right to show my appreciation of his knowledge by trying his recommendations . Old Monk rum was simply the best. Arnav was on hand at the other eating venues and always seemed to appear out of nowhere as we were wondering which wine should we pair with the course, his advice was always welcome and we didn’t go wrong in following his suggestions . Berringer Zinfandel White(  although Rose in colour was my wife’s go to wine as she is not a great drinker but she found this more than good.) Another person who took time to get to know us was Head Butler Asif, again showing the determination the whole Heritance team had in making our stay perfect. I lost count of the number of times we were checked upon during our time there. It certainly made us feel valued. We had two beautiful evening meals at the fabulous Ambula restaurant which served an 8 course tasting menu with paired wines. The whole experience from the wonderful surroundings out over the water, to the service from the lovely Balinese waitress Anya ( apologies for the spelling) to the gorgeous food was an occasion to remember. Do not be fooled into thinking because its a tasting menu you’ll leave hungry, far from it, we left more than full. Upstairs you’ll find the Skybar where we has a fabulous ¨Jellyfish cocktail ¨prepared for us. Check out the photo, they really do look like that. The bar tender guy up there certainly knew his stuff. Ginifathi restaurant is the one with the high rise thatched roofs where you are served wonderful seafood. We ate here twice also and enjoyed the whole occasion. The sounds of the waves tapping the nearby white sand is heavenly. Freshly cooked fish, salads and great service made this a memorable place for us. We also chose to eat two evenings at the Fine Dining Restaurant Baani which is over by the water-suites. There is an extra charge for non water-suits guests of $100 per person. Given the quality and presentation of the food, surroundings and overall ambiance of the place we believe that this is not excessive and presents good value for money. Everything we enjoyed was expertly presently and detailed by the lovely Minakshi who served us both evenings we visited. We were lucky that Arnav popped in like magic and advised us on the wines we might like to enjoy with the various courses.  The restaurant was further enhanced by a young pianist who played softly in the background and even played ¨our song ¨at our request. Beautiful evenings. Another great member of staff who also popped up from time to time was the very enthusiastic Bandu who again was driven in the task of ensuring guests got fantastic service and full enjoyment of all the wonderful things Aarah has to offer. Haatha  restaurant is the Thai / Japanese street food themed restaurant at the resort which we did not visit on our holiday. This was purely because we have spent a lot of time in the Far East and preferred to eat a type of food we were less accustomed to . I think there is a $50 charge for Non water-suite guests but from speaking with other holidays makers it is worth the extra for the “cooking show” given the plaudits we heard. It is facing Ambula restaurant and everyone we saw in there certainly looked to be enjoying themselves, everyone seated around a central island with the chefs cooking in the middle. The main Pool bar was a great place to grab a cocktail or two beautifully served by Desi who was so friendly and efficient . She had good knowledge of what was on offer and always served with a smile. Another credit to the team. The Infinity Pool and bar were  amazing, again look at the photos. Although simply the preserve of the Water-suit guests for current bookings, our trip was planned a long time ago, so true to the honesty and integrity of the resort, our “ right of use” was honoured . The young guy who works there by day and then at the rum bar at night is a happy smiley fella who mixes a great cocktail. The style and effort he puts into the shaking the cocktails he makes would be enough to get him a part in Saturday Night Fever!!! If you get the opportunity to enjoy a romantic beach meal or Seafood Platter then take it. The whole experience was so memorable , the setting and care taken in the table presentation and the OMG Seafood was to die for. Prawns the size of large bananas , Lobster, Scallops etc etc , all cooked to perfection and served beautifully by Ajith. Occasion/ taste/location/presentation 10/10. I suppose what has made this resort stand out for us is the very clear effort that the whole team there puts in. They were led by Mr Marcos, who we had the pleasure of meeting during our stay. I am very much aware of the  leadership skills that  are required to run a large team of individuals and turn them into a well run team. Mr Marcos displayed those skills aplenty. I could tell that the staff responded eagerly to Mr Marcos’s direction and he held the respect of his staff whilst still maintaining an approachable demeanour. Again, Mr Marcos, you are destined the top. I can only end this review by saying that it has been an absolute pleasure to stay at this fantastic resort, the standard  of food, drinks and surroundings were of the highest quality and we long for the day we can return.

Is was an amazing time! Great hotel with incredible food and service! Our butler ARKA was great and made our stay special! He spoke perfect English and was very attentive. Our every request was heard and we didn’t have any issues during our stay. First 6 nights we had a beach villa. Please do you research about locations of some beach villas. So you know what to expect. We had a perfect room 153 and were very happy with the location. For last 4 nights we had a premium water villa with pool. We had villa 703 and I personally think it was the best one as it is a corner villa and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunset! As I said good was amazing in every restaurant. Our favorites were Baani and Ginifati. Some restaurants you have to book, some you can just show up. There is a bar on top of Ambula restaurant. We loved it. The bartender there was a magician :) Also hotel has a very good gym ! We would recommend this place and would come back anytime!

Magical atmosphere in a surreal place. The sea needs no introduction, just like the beaches that surround the whole island. A special thanks to Akshay, for her courtesy, friendliness and professionalism. Number 1. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I had the most amazing trip. The resort is absolute paradise and just what we needed to unplug. The food is well prepared and delicious, with a great selection. The suite is super comfortable and quiet and well appointed. Plenty of privacy for everyone to feel like this island is made just for you. Lastly our butler, Hisham, was truly wonderful and made our holiday more enjoyable. Real gem of a human being. Thanks again for one of the best vacations we have had
