In a town that can be overwhelmingly touristy, the laughing gecko is anything but. It's a quick walk to many restaurants and shops, but still feels a world away from all the bustle. The owner makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive and speaks excellent english. He has plenty of advice on great places to go and...

First things first is that this place is basic and may not be for everyone but I found a bed that was comfy, a good mosquito net, a shower that did the job and good wifi even though I think I was in the furthest bungalow. I stayed a week here and didn't want to leave. Relaxing in your bungalow...

Laughing Gecko is a place for the traveler at heart, the one seeking for something beyond daily comforts that are of course offered everywhere in Ao Nang beach. Laughning Gecko is located at a very accessible point, close to the beach and many shops and restaurants while offering a unique relaxing and friendly atmosphere that can be rare to find...

The host of this guesthouse is one of the real survivors of the early backpacker ages in Thailand. The simple houses are what one may expect for the budget price: simple beds, mosquitonets, fan, toilet and shower in a separate little hut next to your bedroom. What really matters is the atmosphere: Here you can find a man, that does...

Place isn't the cleanest, beds and pillows aren't the softest and toilet is kind of questionable. Even so, if you're looking for a place that has the most kind-hearted owner, jungle-like athmosphere, cheap (500 baht/night) accomodation and shops and Nopparat Thara Beach near by - then you're going to right place. We stayed for total of 10 nights and enjoyed...

We stayed here only 2 nights but this place had the most relaxing environment during our journey in Thailand. If you would like to disconnect from the world and feel yourself closer to the nature, I can highly recommend the Laughing Gecko.

We spent 3 days in this nice guesthouse with our daughters. The owner, Nui, is a great host. We feel immediately welcome. Nui is always available to chat, advice or play on the pool table. The bungalows are clean and nice. They are located 200m from the beach which is very convenient. Our teenagers really liked the place because it...

One of the last places where you can still glimpse the backpacker history of Ao Nang. The owner is very helpful, has good connections and will help you find nice destinations for your trips in the area. It is a bit outside of Ao Nang where it is less crowded and noisy. You can go to the center by foot...

If you are looking for a warm, family-like atmosphere, it's the place to go. Nue, the owner, is a very warm and welcoming host. He organizes dinner times where he gathers all the guests around all night long chats. A hidden garden in the middle of Ao Nang, comparatively quiter coast of Krabi. Best place to feel at home.

I think this is the last place on Ao Nang nopparathara beach where is still this old school backpacking spirit. Been there many times and waiting to go again. Very close to beach and surrounding nature gives good vibes. Owner is very kind and helps if you have any problems. :) Very relaxing.
