Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Ao Nang Krabi. If you were at the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi pre-pandemic, this is not the same location. That one left IHG and this one joined. I think this hotel is much better located than the prior one and overall I like it better, but YMMV. All staff from front office to restaurant to housekeeping were fantastic! All friendly, greeting you every time you pass by. Hospitality as it should be. A coupon for wecome drinks was provided at check in. The room was comfortable and nice. We had a Mountain View Standard Room with Balcony, which was an upgrade from Garden View Standard (Diamond Status with IHG). The Premium rooms appear to have a larger balcony, but I did not see inside any to see the other differences. The housekeeping staff had made a towel animal and spelled out a thank you for your loyalty message with popsicle sticks on the bed, and an amenity plate of treats was delivered as well. The only minor complaint about the room is the mirror is not over the sink but to the side of the sink. Not a big deal, but just felt odd. We enjoyed the location of the room, but a word of caution for those with mobility issues. This hotel is built onto the side of a mountain and we were in Building 6, at the top of the property. They do have carts and will drop you off, and come to pick you up when you call from the phone in the Building 6 lobby, but if you walk there are steps involved. You can take the elevator from the lobby to floor 3, which is the pool, and walk to the other side of the pool and then roughly two flights of steps up. Additionally, the hotel lobby and restaurant sits one floor above street level. You either walk up the steep drive, or you enter the street level bar and take the stairs up to the restaurant and lobby level. I did not see an elevator for that anywhere. At check in, the Diamond choices were offered and we chose breakfast. The breakfast buffet had a nice assortment that would appeal to most with Western, Asian and Indian selections. They do have an omelette station which is nice as well. Coffee is via two machines that will do specialty coffees as well. The only problem is the machines are a bit temperamental and can go out of service requiring staff intervention, and even when working they are extraordinarily slow. Again, not a huge issue, just noting. Ao Nang beach is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and many of the better restaurants are clustered near the hotel. Highly recommend Cru and Reeve (on the beach) if you are in the area. Reeve has a fire knife show each night at 8pm on the beach. The hotel restaurant had great food (both Thai and Western) and live entertainment each night as well. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back again.…
Hotel is nicely located with walking distance to the beach and right opposite to 7/11 which comes in handy given that the hotel does not have enough spread when it comes to vegetarian options. Staff does not understand English well and it is a great task to explain what needs to be done, given that some are really helpful while others are just shouting on top of their voice. Room quality is good but the rooms near the street would have noise and would be a problem for a peaceful sleep, while those are the only one with best view so it is a trade off. In house spa is under maintenance and pool would be a short walk if staying the front building. Strangely they do not have water at reception when asked for and restaurant charges you for the same bottle provided in room funny, also noticed that the property is still using the old notepads and stationery which is under the name of Vogue resort and spa which would be taken over by IHG group. Overall a good place to stay given the location and room comfort although not justifying the value given their is limited food spread for vegetarian and also not enough services given bigger property.…
We are a family with two children (2 and 4 yrs old). One of the best hotels in Ao Nang in terms of facilities, quality, and food. We stayed twice at this hotel. First time in March 2022, we spent one week there (it was Dusit D2 at that time) after more than half of year later we decided to come back again due to the exceptional service and facilities of this hotel. Yes, it is not a cheap option, but it is worth every penny spent there. The people who work there make it so special. Ms. Luna at the reception has an exceptional memory and welcomed us not only with a beautiful smile and warm words but with a special welcome back cake in our room (what a surprise). The happy story was not over yet as a couple of days later on my birthday our room was decorated with balloons, flowers, and kind happy birthday greetings. It was wow, kids went crazy about it. We spend at the hotel only 5 days, but these were the best and happiest days for our family during this two-month's journey. Amazing people work there, they apply the highest and very professional standards to their work. Special thanks to Ms. Luna (we miss you already). With a courage, You might be named not only as an ambassador of Holiday Inn, but an ambassador of the people of Thailand as all that you do comes from your heart. This hotel is not about the facility (which is outstanding), this hotel is about the people, who make your vacation close to perfection. Thank you kids club team who took care of our kids. Thank you to all the reception team and Ms. Luna especially. Thank you to all restaurant personnel, who made amazing breakfast every morning. If you would like to be treated as a valuable guest - this is your hotel. You will find everything there, kids club for your kids, a large and clean swimming pool in perfect condition with always available towels, small but modern A/C gym with new equipment, an outstanding buffet type breakfast with good coffee, modern rooms with good A/C, shower and comfy beds. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. You can always ask for additional drinking water if you would like to. Drinking water is provided daily and in glass bottles as it should be. A good restaurant on the side is available with live music almost daily. They do have a happy hour, where you can buy drinks cheaper. Draft beer, which is rare in Thailand, is also available at Holiday Inn. Things to improve. 1. Some kids' toys in the Kids club need to be replaced or fixed, and some musical toys do not work as batteries have to be replaced. I would recommend to cunduct inspection on a regular basis in order to keep maintain toys in good condition. 2. Maybe the hotel could set up an open-air cinema with a big screen (f.e. around the swimming pool area), a couple of days a week in the evening would be nice to watch some blockbusters, couple of movies for kids would be very welcome by hotel customers. This would be a great alternative to the restaurant and it live music, especially if you are able to watch your movie and enjoy a couple of drinks. 3. Make a popcorn available at your hotel for children as 7/11 does. We miss you all and will be back again as soon as we are in Thailand. …
The hotel and staff were exceptional, so much so we've booked to go back with friends for Xmas 2023. The suite was contemporary with everything we needed. The staff couldn't do enough to help us and we were always greeted with a smiling face. We went around some of the other hotels whilst we were there and this was by far the nicest hotel in a perfect location.
Horrible Very poor room service Worst for vegetarians .asked for French fries waited for 1 hour still it didn’t come when called the reception they put it on hold but didn’t revert back At the time of booking asked for vegetarian food and we’re promised so we booked for dinner too but at hotel we were told that they have set menu so we literally starved
We booked 3 pool facing rooms for myself and my family. We had old people as well as young children in the group. Positives: Rooms were clean and well maintained. Nice sheets and towels. Pool view was nice TV had a nice set of channels Hot water bath was relaxing Air conditioning was effective Breakfast was a reasonable spread as expected in a 4* property. Some Indian food too for vegetarians Located close to Starbucks, McDonalds as well as about 50 Indian restaurants that cater to all kinds of Indian food Their own restaurant has live singer at 8pm and serves nice Thai food as well as pizza etc. It does take a good half hour for food to be served. Maybe more if it is 9 pm Negatives: Rooms located on top of a hill (about 5 to 6 storeys high). You may find it difficult to walk up stairs etc if u have arthritis or not in good health. Though lifts are available at places and they do provide carts on request that take u to the room. Not on the beach but close to it. 10 min walk thru a nice clean market. Overall a good value for money hotel. Worth staying.…
The resort was very good with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was as per expectations. The only problem is since the resort is on a hill side you might have to walk a few steps. It was a very great stay.
