We thought this hotel was nice but slightly dated. Our two rooms overlooked the pool and were on the street side. The pool is nice but the rooms were noisy at night…if this bothers you ask forma room away from the street. The location is great, close to the beach and boats and there are a lot of food vendors close by. The breakfast is good and we ate at the dining room for two other meals. The Thai food was good but the European food did not excite any of us. I would stick to Thai dishes and expect to pay a little more if you eat here. Don’t expect good service but I would say it is average for the area. Hotel service was good and the staff was warm and inviting. Be aware of the location and of the location of your room as the area was busy. All in all we liked our stay and think the price was appropriate. I am sure the rooms down the street at twice the price our nicer but we felt we got good value staying here.

We have been regular patrons here at the Phra Nang Inn for quite a few years, and we love the place - which is why we keep coming back - sometimes with friends. This is the first time we've been disappointed, and that's why we now rate it as average. While we understand the need to entice people to book during Covid-19, reducing the nightly rate by 50% since our last visit (October 2019) has had quite a serious effect. The patrons had changed quite a bit - particularly the socio-economic groups that were staying. There were quite a large number of muslim guests. In a hotel where the focus of activity is the swimming pool, it was unpleasant for my wife to be ogled by the muslim men while she was relaxing on a sunbed in a swimsuit. She also did not appreciate the unpleasant looks from the muslim women, presumably for the same reason - wearing a swimsuit. Other guests included Muay Thai female boxers, who were very well behaved, but their coaches and trainers were excessively loud, and always swearing, particularly late in the evenings. Unpleasant. The breakfasts had deteriorated significantly since our last visit - very disappointing. Last time we had eaten in your restaurant regularly in the evenings, but this time, we found the menu disappointing and did not eat with you at all. Finally, we both hit our heads on the low leaning tree next to the pool. That tree is now a serious hazard and should be removed for the safety of guests. Finally, we found the staff excellent, as always, and appreciated them looking after us so well. Thank you. We suggest that you raise the nightly rates to 75% of what they were in October 2019, so that you retain the numbers of guests, but improve the quality of those guests.

We spent two weeks in Thailand and staying at this "hotel" was by far the worst part of our trip. To begin, they were an hour late to pick us up for our initial transfer and offered zero explanation or notice. They "comped" us dinner to make up for it but told us we could only do it on one night, we weren't able to pick what we wanted to eat ourselves, the food we got was inedible, and we had to pay for our own drinks. Then they were supposed to have booked us a full day kayaking tour. When we arrived at reception at 8am and said we were there for the tour the woman acknowledged us and said to sit down. Then at 8:15 I asked if things were running late and then the receptionist told us that pickup isn't until 8:30 - 8:45. Would have been nice if she mentioned that when we arrived over 30 minutes early. We went back to our room and when we came back at 8:40 we were told that due to "low tide" the tour was going to start at 10. We arrived at 10 and went on our tour. Once there the tour guide told us that actually the hotel just never called to book the tour until that morning when they should have done it the day before. Then we only got a half day tour. I still can't believe that they lied to us about the situation. When we were checking out they offered us the price difference between a full and half day tour which is appreciated but never acknowledged the fact that they lied or even apologized. The pictures of this hotel are so deceptive. We could not have been more disappointed in real life. The only redeeming thing this hotel has to offer is the bartender and beach bar which shockingly has really great drinks. Spare yourself and do not book a hotel room here but go to the happy hour!

We stumbled on this hotel while looking for beach front places to eat one evening in Ao Nang. The pool and location looked outstanding which prompted my partner who is Thai to venture into Reception and ask about price and availability as we were considering extending our stay in Ao Nang. She was only interested in poolside rooms and after some discussion regarding price and availability and a quick check on Agoda we decided to book for two nights. In daylight the pool still looks great but the place overall is looking a little shabby, in need of a little TLC. No doubt the lack of customers during lockdown has made it tough for the business but they were in the process of replacing part of the thatched roof on one wing while we were there. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly, our room was good, quite large with good hot shower that worked - not allways the case in Thailand, and great value for money. Breakfast overlooking the beach was good, although the selection a little limited compared to many Thai hotels, and the location is fantastic - we had a couple of amazing sunsets visible from the upstairs bar, but better if you ventured 50 paces onto the beach. It's also quite close to a large number of bars, coffee shops and resturants of all price ranges and tastes, from Thai, Mexican, Turkish and Western to Indian.

The hotel location is very good, the door is to the sea, and the restaurant is also viewing the sea. The swimming pool is nice. Across the road short walk to 7-11 and Burger King, many restaurant bars, shopping a variety of grocery stores, and a plus near the boat jetty next to the hotel. The room is big and clean, with the necessary needs. The breakfast was very good and the front desk staff and the 2 ladies were very warm and helpful. Great praise to them!!! Great stay!

The rooms and general condition of this hotel have absolutely no resemblance to the advertised photos on most Booking.websites. They are run down and quite frankly hazardous to health. I was so concerned for the welfare of my child that at the last minute I had to find alternative accommodation even after being shown another room. I had only just paid for the stay at the reception and after seeing the room and advising the staff that I had to find different accommodation as their rooms where so bad I asked for my money to be returned.. I was told this is not their policy. I was offered no recompense and basically robbed... This establishment is a 1 star basic backpacker hostel at best definitely not for a small family.

Stayed at the phra nang inn June 2019, on arrival our room was lovely but small and the balcony was only big enough for two chairs wedged between the air con unit and the water tank and over looked the tourist police station so we asked to be moved, this was no problem . Second room was spacious with ample outside space, I would say the room could have done with a revamp but we were happy as we spend little time in our room anyway. Hotel staff were lovely and were always beavering away and happy to chat and have a laugh, breakfast was lovely and was taken overlooking the beach, really very pretty. Ao nang was not quite the Thai paradise we expected! However we enjoyed our time and it is a good location to visit other islands. My advice when you exit the hotel on the beach side turn left to enjoy the lovely beach bars and avoid the rude India tailors.

Our time at the Phra Nang Inn was incredibly relaxing and the staff was beyond top notch!! We were pampered as guests and felt like we were part of the Phra Nang Inn family by the end of our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were able to enjoy the resorts many gratuities (massage, restaurant, and excellent bar with music in the evenings) and a location right on the beach. It was close to the shops and other restaurants as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a real Ao Nang experience.

We're staying in this hotel for 5 nights. Pros: - excellent location, right next to the beach - next to the shops - good staff. Especially experience manager mr. Khao has been very nice. - the pool, own restaurant - decent breakfasts Cons: - VERY loud music from the Boogie bar across the street. Every night until 2 AM - Sometimes slow service in the restaurant Verdict: If you don't mind the extremely loud music and you definitely want to be right net to the beach and in the center of everything, than this is the hotel for you. The hotel is well maintained, especially the rooms in the central building. Truth to be told, the experience manager tried to ease our pain of not being able to sleep at night. So we changed three rooms in five days. Finally, we found a room looking at the back side of the hotel. This helped a bit,. after two consecutive nights of loud music and little sleep until 2 AM. Just beware of that. Otherwise, it's a good hotel.

The location was very good. We had the beach view room above the Poda restaurant. No 1221. The room was a little dated but we expected that. Very clean. It was huge. The bed was very comfy. The balcony was big with 2 comfy chairs. You could people watch. We could sit there and listen to the evening music in the beach bar. Not too loud. Did not keep us awake and anyway finished about 11.0. The balcony caught any breeze going. Pool area is an oasis with lots of shade. Friendly staff. Good choice at breakfast. The whole of Ao Nang beach is dominated by the noisy long tail boats. You do get used to them but it is bliss when they finish early evening.
