Don't ever dare to come... Even though the people is extremely nice, the facilities are dirty and not well maintained. I was years ago and that is the reason I wanted to come back. The food was amazing, but on a menu basis; it is not a hotel anymore. There was no AC, the 2nd day we did not have... More

We stayed at the Casa San Agustin and spent the day at the Ague Baru, its sister property. The hotel is 45 minutes by speed boat from the port of Cartagena, and it is located on a serene lagoon with a smattering of private homes/boutique hotels. In the morning, the water was as calm as a swimming pool, and the... More

Do not even know where to start my review. We could not have chosen a better destination and hotels for our second honeymoon. We spent 2 nights at Agua Baru and 3 nights at San Agustin, and we are delighted with our entire experience. We had a room with a private pool, and wanted to stay there forever. The decor... More

Excellent hotel, yes the food is quite basic, and so are the drink options, the hot water debatable etc..... but its remote and amazingly peaceful. Incredible service from Luis x2 and Victor... just a heavenly spot. The snorkelling trip to the main island nearby probably not worth it, the beach opposite the hotel is the best and was very quiet... More

First of all, this is no longer Agua: the hotel Casa San Agustin took over this property a while ago. It really is a beautiful bit of this earth, Baru island. The (rather pricey) boat ride from Cartagena was thrilling. It was interested to observe the water turn from muddy gray to vivid green the further we got from the... More

We had an excellent stay at this remote and lovely spot. The ultimate getaway if you're looking for peace and quiet. The food was great, the service was excellent and the casitas were beautiful. The location is great on a nice bay (no beach), but the staff are happy to take you to a nearby pristine beach or out snorkeling... More

Stayed for 3 nights at Agua which has just been taken over by the San Augustin in Cartagena. We were looked after by the new manager Andres Tejada who is working hard to improve the service and ambience with a completely new team. The place is stunning and the rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed. You can eat on... More

Pros: beautiful location, very remote, good food. Cons: horrible service, poop in pool, dirty bed sheets, dirty towels, bed bugs that owner claimed don't exist in Colombia. Turns out they do. WARNING- stay elsewhere!

Worst operated and managed property I have ever stayed at. After years of extensive travel. Having been to over 50 countries, and hundreds of hotels, I have never experienced such a pathetic display of incompetence on the part of management. There were so many problems. The place was a disaster. Stained sheets, fecal matter in the pool, no hot water,... More

First off, the setting is spectacular and the boat ride out quite thrilling. The hillside rooms are also beautiful (though a tiring hike up the hill. Please don't stay here if you are not in shape!) These would be the only reasons I would award two stars instead of one. The hotel has no management whatsoever in situ. All management... More
