We stayed at The Old Gin House in March with a group of 10. My husband and I stayed in one of the oceanfront master suites with a full sitting room/den area and overlooking the ocean. There was a good sized refrigerator in the room which allowed us to store drinks and some small snacks. Air conditioning was good, which...

There are some really nice rooms at the Gin House and some very needy rooms. Choose wisely. Management says they are working to upgrade the older rooms. The food at the Gin House is superb although a bit pricey even for the islands. Management should put a 5 Gallon jug of water in each room! CoCo View has been doing...

Like most scuba, fishing or hunting lodges, this hotel is about the location and convenience. The staff is friendly and the property is clean. The location is perfect. The sleep quality is poor. Important note: there are 3 ocean front suites that are very nice and are 4 or more stars. This review applies to the rooms in the back...

We stayed a couple of days in an ocean view room. The restaurant was okay, the pool needs some serious cleaning. The roads need repair. Wifi not available in the room. Tourist attractions on the island are nil unless you dive.

Just off the road sits this historic little hotel. It does reflect the quiet nature of Statia but it remains charming nonetheless. Across the street is the restaurant with nice views of the water. Pool is nice also and excellent way to wash off the sweat after a day on scooters. Highly recommend.

We took an ocean view. The suite is big, with 2 rooms : bedroom & living room. The bathroom is spacious... There is a small beach in front, but not easy to swim. You can enjoy some long chairs and umbrellas. There is a pool, but a little bit old. The restaurant is excellent, the food, staff, location, all are...

I recently stayed at The Old Gin House for a tourism conference and truly enjoyed my time at both the property and exploring Statia. While there were some small quirks, I definitely recommend this hotel. The good: ~ Great location! The island doesn't have many swimmable beach areas, but this hotel is a 5 min walk to the beach. There...

Room had one chair--no cupboard to hang clothes--only a cabinet with shelves. It was either put the suitcase on the chair and stand to use the computer on the desk, or keep moving the suitcase every time you wanted to sit down. Just a 2 star motel type room.

The Old Gin House is absolutely the best place to stay in Statia! The staff works with you. The rooms are fully air conditioned and comfortable. The restaurant is great though a bit expensive. I plan to stay again!

I would compare this hotel to a clean Days Inn. It is very basic and clean. However, some of the people we were traveling with had problems with hot water and their t.v. Mine worked the first day and was fussy for the rest of my stay which was 7 nights. The restaurant is very expensive and the food was...
