My first visit to La Fonda Resort was in 1994. Then, it was hard to find a working light bulb and a toilet that did not run all night, but the view, food, and service made up for all the shortcomings. My visit this past weekend is most likely my last. I believe there are new owners, and they have...

I've been coming here for about the last 10 years. It used to be one of my favorite places. However, I was here in February 2012 and I'm not sure I'll be coming back. The room was so bad, I couldn't think of anything else to do but laugh. The curtains were stuck and couldn't be closed on one window....

La Fonda means a lot to my new wife and I. She grew up going down there with her family and friends and I spent my childhood summers right up the road at a place called the Medio Camino. My family and I travel down there year round. We decided to get married at La Fonda this past St. Patrick's...

I almost hate to share this secret spot. For real Arrived in La Mision/Alisitos on the Wednesday before Newv Year's.........................Everything looked packed. A security guard approached us as we were about leave Ruben's Lighouse and said he knew private home owners who rented out suites apartments , rooms. "Call them" we said. He reached a lady named Cathy who rents...

We stayed in a bunglow on the cliff-side with an amazing view of the ocean. The room was in all aspects charming and somehow authentic as to how I wanted it to be - not a modern, cold, charter hotel complex. Sure there are downside to this, the shower did for instance break the second day of our stay. But...

We come to Rosarito, Mexico often and have a condo here so I cannot comment on the accommodations at La Fonda, but we love going there for Taco Tuesdays! Really good pollo tacos and Dos XX on draft is only a buck! Tacos are a buck fifty. You can't beat the atmosphere or the live entertainment by the best guitarist...

My husband and I stayed here two nites, in a room (21) off on the hillside (yes, down a path with two sets of stairs --I think we were the closest to the beach) and it was a trip down memory lane for us of the 60's generation. Funky furniture, a 3-D painting of a mermaid on the wall, handmade furniture...Nothing...

My views on La Fonda Hotel goes back thirty some years. My first stay at La Fonda was in the late 70's, you had to pay in cash (no credit cards) and in the winter the rooms had drafts through them that left you chilled to the bone! Great place to "cuddle" with a lover! You see back then there...
