I am the basic type of person...this pension suits my needs, exactly.... Basic....clean...and small....good location, and friendly service... A little worn, around the edges... There are plenty of hotels, at the 30 USD rate, close by... So, if "basic" is your level of comfort, this is the place...

My husband and I like to travel on the cheap, and I have fun finding great deals at some not so great places. This place is cheap (about $20 USD) and conveniently located with an incredible and cheap taco stand outside, but that's about all the positive I have to say. The rooms are dirty and nasty with peeling paint...

As long as you only use the kitchen to boil water for instant coffee or msg loaded ramen noodles, you will be right as rain. The rooms are loaded with character, and the common area is filled with old photos and paintings. The staff were great. The bathroom was private, and very narrow. We are 5 ft. 5 in, and...

Very, very, very budget hostel. Beds made out of concrete with a mattress on top. The rest of room fashioned out of concrete as well. Had the feel of a night I once spent in the cells in London. Except, I got more sleep there. Just odd. Managed to get WI-FI and the price was right, but that was about...

This place is very, very basic - rooms have no windows, beds and bedroom fixtures are made of concrete, there was no water in the tap and the 'shower' is literally the end of a hose shooting cold water only. But who cares, you're in La Paz spending $280 a night on a twin with private bathroom. The WiFi is...

The hostel is located within walking distance to the bus terminal. It is basically in the city center. This is an old and quite run down building. It had nice courtyard with many seating areas for socializing. There was also a very simple kitchen in the outside area. It was not very well equipped. My room and all other areas...

This is may be the strangest place I have ever been. The bathroom was really a disaster. There was no hot water at all, yes it was hot anyway so a cold shower was really refreshing The rooms dont have windows, the beds are made of concrete and the matress is put on it. The wardrobe was made also of...

This hostel and the Convento hostel around the corner are owned by the same man. They are virtually the same but the price for Pension California was 10 pesos more! It is well located, has a lot of communal seating and was very social. It has an outdoor 'kitchen' which is really a gas 4 ring burner and no decent...
