The old Hotel Conquistador was a nice place to get away for awhile in Tijuana Mexico. It was away from Downtown Tijuana and only 15-20 Minute drive to the Border in traffic, and about 15 Minutes from the local Airport Rodriguez field. And the back road down to Rosarito and Ensenada was not too far from the Hotel. The rustic decor... More

Closing Hotel El Conquistador is a great loss to Tijuana & to travelers there. The place was built in the 20s or 30s, during Tijuana's heyday, and bore the elegant surroundings that remind us of simpler times. A week ago, I spent about a half hour going round & round in the two one-way sections of Aguas Caliente in the... More

Twice I've had a chance to stay at Hotel Conquistador, at on Agua Calientes across from the Two Tijuana Towers, where the rooms are spacious and the courtyard is shady with lots of bougainvillea. There are many doctors offices and clinics in the Two Towers. The property encompasses an entire city block with a high surrounding wall and parking in... More

I was in this Hotel the pass weekend. First, the front desk, very unfriendly attention, second no internet service, third I was in the Hotel for one night and they charged me for two nights, robbing me one night. Please stay away from this Hotel.

We were a little leary about staying in Tijuana, but we heard from a friend that El Conquistador was nice. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in our room. It was huge and very clean. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, especially the bartender Manuel. The restaurant and lounge were very nice and we had a lot of... More

“Just make sure to always - no matter what hotel you are checking into - ask for a key and inspect the room. I usually run the shower too, just to make sure I don't have to change rooms later (which I've had to do in top joints in Manhattan and on the Sunset Strip)...”
