For the price we got with the flight and all inclusive at the hotel it was a good deal but I would not recommend this hotel. They did what they could and they def need to work on somethings to make it feel like a...More
We stayed at the resort the last week of March, 2017. My husband and I are in education, so it was our spring break and we carted along our 16 year old son and his friend. The boys were the absolute most fun to watch...More
While the rooms were updated and comfortable; the upkeep needs improvement. Landscaping was nice and beautiful; they even have an herb garden. The beach itself was wonderful, the hawkers were super overwhelming and non-stop. We found ourselves saying "no, thank you" over and over, regardless...More

I also got credit when I booked a room with them and when I got to the hotel found out I could only use it at their spa, so I would not know if this is any different, also, any room changes you want to make has to be done before 3 pm, after that they make a big deal out of it and sometimes deny helping you. As for the views, they mostly if nort all point towards the pool area which is very nice, so it wouldn,t make much difference, enjoy your trip!

We stayed at the Villa Del Mar and some friends stayed at the Villa Del Palmar. Both have pros & cons. Villa Del Mar may not be as close to the beach as Palmar, but we're talking about walking another minute or two more. The Mar had views of their pool and Palmar had views of their pool and the beach. The pool area at the Palmar was crowded and full of kids (this pool has the waterslide). And there were "theme nights" (e.g. Mexican Fiesta, Broadway musical night) centered near or around the pool area in the evening. It was much noisier, where the pool at the Mar was more quite and adult-oriented. Both had excellent food & beverage service. We did have to move from our first room (#201) because it was next to a noisy service area. The second room was much quieter. The A/C unit on the balcony didn't make enough noise for us to find disruptive.
As far as food, both properties have access to the same 4 restaurants on the premises and their menus are fairly extensive. You could probably find food to meet your dietary needs at the restaurants and the wait staff is very accommodating. For example, I had egg white omelets for breakfast even though they weren't on the menu.
Depending on what you're look for, the main differences are the balcony views and the noise level at the pools. I think you'd be pleased with either location.
I'm sure yoy could the rooms are big and you can always get cots. We were upgraded to a mini suite so we had lots of room. The other rooms are big, also ask for a king size bed. Good luck it is a nice hotel very... More
