If you are looking for a hotel without the frills which is excellent, this is the place for you. This hotel does not offer an all inclusive plan, which is great if you are the type to venture out. If you just want to spend all your time at the hotel, this is not the choice. The standard rooms are...

We've been going to Puerto Vallarta for years. We love staying in the Romantic Zone and usually stay at Playa los Arcos which is also a very good property! However, this was a last minute trip and the rate was better so we decided to give the Tropicana a try after reading the reviews on trip advisor. This is one...

The hotel is average - clean and basic accommodations with spectacular views (we had a superior room in the new building) in a perfect location. We could walk to so many restaurants - easy walk to The Malecon and other shopping. the service was great and the price can't be beat. I would stay there again for sure!

For the last couple of years now we take an annual vacation to PV in Mexico and we always try to stay at this hotel. It is located on the beach in the old town. If you are looking for a super fancy hotel with all of the amenities you should book elsewhere. Having said that we love the place....

We just got back tonight from our 2nd stay at Tropicana. The location is perfect for us, right on the beach with beautiful grounds and 2 lovely pools. Its an easy walk to restaurants, cafes, bars etc - it's rare that we go anywhere in the old town that's not walking distance from the hotel. The hotel restaurant isn't great,...

I travelled alone and wanted to be next to Blue Chair's where other friends where staying. This was perfect for me. The Tropicana is simple, clean and gets the job done. I was on the 5th floor with an ocean view room. I could hear the ocean at night, some say this is a bad thing. I think it was...

3d time at this hotel. First time in an Economy room (don't bother) then a Superior, now a 'Standard'. It was perfect; clean, spacious with a balcony and partial ocean view. Housekeeping was excellent, overall service very friendly and accomodating. There are extensive renovations going on to upgrade the rooms but luckily I was far enough away from construction noise....

We had a great time at the Tropicana in December 2012. It is one of the most affordable places to stay in P.V. We flew with Sunwing and it was about $1150 including tax and cancelation insurance for 1 week. It is an older hotel and some things are a little run down but for me it just added to...

The Tropicana is an older hotel in the Romantic Zone of PV. This is the exact type of experience we seek out. It is beautifully kept up, flowers and plants everywhere. The service cannot be beat. Every employee with whom we interacted was helpful, friendly, and courteous. We found the restaurant food quite bland, but I simply asked for the...

A great location, choice of sitting poolside or stepping about 20 steps to you own palapa, table and chair/s on the beach. The staff are amazing and I felt safe every part of my day or evening at this hotel thanks to Feliciano, who really came to my rescue one night after having a drink at another establishment spiked and...
