I have stayed at the Hotel Tropicana on my two visits to PVR. It is a great location and a good value for the money. The hotel is well maintained. The rooms are clean and serviceable but not elaborate. If you are looking for a five star hotel with a ton of amenities, you should consider another hotel. However, if...

I've been staying at the Trop several times a year for over a decade...it's hard to beat the location on the beach. This is not a five star hotel, but it is more than adequate with regular, superior and junior suites. Each year, I see improvements being made. The most recent one is a new pool which was being finished...

we stayed for 14 days at the begining of Dec.2011 The Hotel staff were very curtious and helpfull. The rooms were nothing short of spotless everyday. On our last night was the staff party, which yes the music was loud, so we sat on our deck and enjoyed the music while the staff enjoyed their party! Great location to the...

Stayed for 10 days in early December, Hotel was clean , Staff very helpfull . Paid 770 pesos for room on 5th floor. We looked at other places nearby such as San Marino and Los Arcos but Tropicana was better value . One major annoyance while there was a staff party on the restaurant patio. The canned music was so...

The Tropicana is in a great location, steps away from mnay great restaurants and shops. Room was large with a wonderful ocean view. Very clean, as the entire hotel was. Staff was friendly and always wanted to please. The beach was clean and had plenty of room between palapas and chairs. It would have been nice if they had some...

The Tropicana never disappoints you, no matter what time of year you stay. Our 2 week stay in Oct/Nov was again a pleasure. The staff, from the front desk, to the bellhops, and the maids are just so friendly and helpful. The hotel is always clean and spotless. They are always painting or repairing to make the grounds look great....

We had a Junior Suite booked for 2 weeks knowing that it would be a lovely stay after friends stayed there last year in a standard room. When we arrived it was as we remembered, lovely welcome, clean and fresh and not 1 single issue with our reservation. The concierge showed us to our Junior Suite which was bigger than...

On a week-long trip with a friend in Puerto Vallarta, we booked a room at the Tropicana through a travel package deal. It's very affordable but there's something to be said for the old adage "you get what you pay for" - even in Mexico. The front lobby is very nice, they seem to have been doing a lot of...

For us, the location was perfect. Los Muertos beach, all of Viejo Vallarta/Zona Romantica and Centro with in walking distance. Numerous places to eat, all excellent, within walking distance, as well as shopping and other activities like water taxis, parasailing, swimming, etc. The staff are uniformly excellent and very helpful. The place is spotlessly clean. They were in the process...

We went in the off season (July) and found it very quiet and relaxing. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was a little funky. The room ac units just barely worked and the kitchen really wasn't useful as there weren't enough dishes, no dishsoap or towels, no microwave. However the price was excellent (just over $100/day), the location was...
