An excellent location in the middle of the residential area. You can mingle with the locals and stay away from the grotesque touristy areas. You can walk to the beach in 20-25 minutes. The owner is very helpful. Breakfast was mediocre. Room was spacious and comfortable. you can enjoy the gorgeous view of the city and the surrounding hills.

We really enjoyed our stay at this unique B&B. Our room (Sierra Madre) was large and comfortable. We loved the great outdoor lounge on the second floor (outside of our room) with its wonderful vista over the city and ocean, and view down to the pool area. This was a great place to read and relax, with its many chairs...

This was our first time staying with Ted and Birisha. Ted picked us up at the airport and took us to their place. After our arrival, Ted made us some guacamole and chips. We enjoyed them with some beers and got to know a little more about each other. We discovered that Ted and Birisha run a dog rescue and...

We finally made the trip with friends who have been coming here for years. The place is wonderful! The views are breathtaking and the location is perfect. Along with the fresh squeezed orange juice and amazing breakfast, you have the ability to pick up tacos a few blocks down the street. I felt right at home and Ted and Brischa...

This was the second time we stayed with Ted and Brischa. We brought along another couple as well this time and once again we all had a great time. It was like meeting an old friend again, it's a very easy going place with a great breakfast and a great location. There were even more dogs than last time and...

My family and I have just spent a week at Hacienda Las Animas and will be sad to say goodbye tomorrow. Ted picked us up at the airport and drove the scenic route home to Colonia Buenos Aires. We stayed in two rooms: Las Animas on the main floor by the pool, and Sierra Madre room upstairs by the most...

Ever been some place that you can't wait to go back? This is the place above old Puerto Vallarta! Ted and Brischa are the ultimate hosts to make your stay a wonderful experience. Only four guest rooms, designed by Brischa, invite the traveler in for comfortable surroundings looking out over the little community of Buenos Aires (and old Puerto Vallarta)....

I stayed at Hacienda las Animas for three nights in April/May 2013. I was traveling solo. What a wonderful respite. My room (Buenos Aires) was exceedingly comfortable, light, airy, and handsomely furnished. The 2nd level sitting area is the perfect place to laze away an afternoon or late evening. The small dining table on the main level is the heart...

We stayed at Las Animas in December 2012 and found this place to be more than we could've hoped for. Ted picked us up at the airport and brought us back to their lovely B&B where Brischa whipped up the best salsa and guacamole we had on our trip. They were wonderful hosts who made us feel like we were...

“We liked Sierra Madre because it was large with two beds. It did not have a view, but we did not miss that, since the deck overlooking the city is just outside the room.”

“I loved having my doors wide open so that I could hear the Mexican music, the singing, the children, distant dogs barking....and yes, the roosters! There is glass on the wrought-iron doors, so they can be shut to close out the sounds of the night....but I loved leaving them wide open. It is March, and no bugs bothered me at all. Felt totally safe and secure with my doors open.”

“The room on the second floor with the ocean view looks like the best. Las Animas room has glass doors only in the bedroom, no screens, so at night if you want to keep bugs out, it becomes pretty warm in there with the doors closed.”
