I have stayed at Canto for years as I bought a Time Share over 10 years ago. My experience previously was great! It was our home away from home. However, this time around, our experience was terrible! The food was awful, I was charged a fee to inflate my son's floaty (which I had to inflate myself), the service was absolutely awful!! Minimal entertainment, Kids Club was closed, the last couple days of our stay, they were prepping for their New Year's Eve Party. Which were not informed we had to register or pay extra to attend. When I asked to speak to management, Alfredo Arrechigan the manager, was condescending and disrespectful towards me. It was not until my husband stood next to me, that he offered to send us food to our room if we did not pay for the event. He clearly has no respect for women. Not once did he apologize for the lack of communication on their part. He actually had the nerve to blame me, for "not listening to the announcement he made the day before". Mind you, we paid for the All Inclusive Package and we had gone to town the day before. That is how we spend our New Years Eve, in our room with food I had to insist was sent to us since the kitchen was not informed. Our stay was not a vacation, it was constant battle to get any service. Such a shame, very disappointed!!

We stayed here for 9 nights , although the hotel is spotless it’s very family friendly, it was far too noisy for us a couple aged 61 and 64, you couldn’t sit on balcony for all the screaming kids at the pool, and very loud music , one night there were 2 bands at the same time the staff are very helpful and good, as a family with young kids it is a go to place , as a couple who prefer a bit of peace and quiet… no

I agree with the other recent reviews. The place is overcrowded and the ratio of kids to adults is too high. I have been to Canto twice before but sadly will not return. I tried changing my hotel with WestJet after being on hold for 8.5 hours. WestJet rep said I should have done it sooner than two days before departure, but to talk to the WestJet rep at the hotel if it was really bad. It was really bad in my opinion. Overcrowded with children, noise, no entertainment, etc. The WestJet rep at the hotel has no power to make this change in PV I found out. The rep said I could find a new hotel but WestJet would not be involved and it would be at my cost. The staff do their best and are very welcoming and friendly as were most of the guests. After minusing the airfare, locals pay about half of what WestJet customers pay but have the same wristbands. This resort should be no more than $1000/week for WestJet customers. Caution:WestJet does not put any Post COVID reviews, so what you read in the brochure is the “old” Canto reviews from 2020. This is no longer the same resort.

2nd trip to Canto Del Sol. Beautiful grounds and close to Downtown PV. A 10 minute cab ride away. Very helpful staff, one of the best. Two things: Beach is very rocky. Surf is rough too, we did not swim in ocean. Also, the hotel is filled with drunken local tourists. Pool was filled with them. Not mean or rude. But drink and loud.
