This hotel has a fantastic restaurant and a nice swimming pool. The rooms are clean and roomy with some rooms having three queen size beds in case you have kids. Nice gardens and friendly management. An easy walk to the beach at Playa Borrego and it's many palapa restaurants.

Nice large rooms, beautiful grounds, and San Blas' best restaurant, what more could you ask for? The hotel is owned and managed by a large family (of sisters?), and it shows in the kind attentions all the staff give. This is the hotel all the birding groups stay at, and it will prepare a breakfast to go so you can...

We have just stayed here for six nights. So with all that time there I feel duty bound to give you my full insight. We were birding San Blas and the surrounds, and it seems most Westerners here have come for the same thing. San Blas used to be an iconic port - the biggest on the whole Pacific seaboard...

We had to change hotels and found the price in person to be much lower than the internet price. Also the hotel is pretty empty except during Easter. The room was clean with comfortable beds and nice shower. The pool and grounds were beautiful and clean. Our room was pretty basic but had all the necessities. The receptionist was very...

I had a wonderful sense of the place. Friendly and seemingly family owned - I was treated kindly. Quiet and well maintained (with maintenance going on away from my room), a lovely chapel on the grounds that is worth visiting even for someone (like me) who isn't religious. Easy walking to the beach or to the town main square. I...

This hotel has a very nice landscape, a chapel and bungalow type of rooms in addition to the regular rooms. The rooms are not fancy at all, they are actually very rustic and humble. No phone, basic TV, A/C, not a good pest control, the mosquitoes will party with your flavors, bath yourself in repellent at all times, everywhere in...

We booked a one week stay at Hotel Garza Canela on a birding trip based on other birders' trip reports. We were not disappointed. The hotel was quiet and clean with a lovely courtyard. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient with our poor Spanish. Several staff members also spoke English. Thanks to the excellent staff we were able...

My host in La Penita suggested this hotel for its ambiance and location to the daily river excursions. I understand it is quite lovely . We planned to go but ran out of time. Next trip to the area I plan on an extended stay in San Blas.

We stayed here for three nights. They packed a breakfast for us each day on the bird watching tour and we are dinner in the restaurant each night. Rooms were good and grounds well kept, pool is wonderful. Meals were great and staff of the restaurant and hotel were friendly and professional. Great shopping in the gift shop. Would recommend...

I stayed here only one night. I am a bird-watcher and have spent about 2 weeks in the San Blas area, seeing lots of wonderful birds. Mostly I stayed in other places, but was stuck for one night and thought I would try out this place, which gets good reviews. The room was fine. Actually quite spacious and comfortable. I...
