Pretty little hotel, great service and very good food. Front desk is super helpful and rooms are spacious, with great A/C. We’ve stayed at the Thompson and casa que canta and the service here is as good - at about half the price. There are a lot of steps, so be warned. Good restaurants are an easy taxi ride or quick walk. it’s a ten minute walk via the pretty new malecon to town. Just be aware that Madera beach can get crowded with locals. We found it lively and great to swim there, but it’s not quite as pretty a beach as La ropa and more crowded on weekends. Overall great spot!
We loved everything about this hotel. Everyone who works there was so kind, communicative and helpful. We ended up staying there for about 2 weeks in total. The whole place is so charming and distinctly Mexican. Every room has views to the ocean, with patios to sit out on. The beach is beautiful as is the swimming, and it's just a pleasure to watch everyone enjoying it so much. It's on part of the public walking path, which we took every morning to walk into town and see the fishermen come in with their catches. We especially want to say a big thank you to Rosalba and Hector at the front desk - they were so gracious and accommodating when we had to return to the hotel after our Airbnb house had a problem. Carlos was also very helpful. Also a big thank you to Fortunato, one of the waiters at the on-site restaurant - friendly, fun, and helpful. We stayed in a few different rooms during our stay. We especially liked the suites with kitchenettes. The ones higher up the hill tend to be larger with bigger patios and outdoor jacuzzis. We loved it so much we pre-booked for next year. We're sure you'll love it too!…
The folks who operate this hotel are all about customer service. Before and during my stay they responded to my questions very quickly, often within minutes. The hotel excels at cleanliness and customer service. If you are at all concerned about Covid then you want to stay here as they are on top of all issues related to Covid. They even have a lab that will come directly to the hotel to administer Covid tests so it is easy to get your documents for return to the United States.
My husband and I just returned from Zihuatanejo, Mexico. This was the second time we stayed at this lovely, friendly, well-run hotel. The only down side for some people would be the need to climb stairs to and from beach or lobby. Staff very friendly, helpful. Good food in the beachside restaurant, lovely to enjoy included breakfast there. We look forward to next trip there.
I can’t say enough about this place. The location, the property, the people, the rooms, the food/drinks, the amenities... all 5+ star. We had a jacuzzi room (highly recommend). The view was stunning. You’re right on the beach so you can jump in the ocean or walk along the fisherman’s pier. You’re close to town (restaurants, shopping). But the hotel itself is the real win. Having good A/C helps tremendously. Coffee in the room is a small thing, but one of my personal must-haves. A bookshelf, games. Breakfast included, a major plus, and it was great. They even have a small gym. Water refill stations. Hammocks! Every person we interacted with was awesome, especially Carlos and Salvador. I hope we can come back one day, and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
