The property and staff were wonderful. Off the south end of Playa la Ropa, it's away from the crowds and larger resorts. We stayed in the Pez Vela suite and LOVED IT! The private plunge pool and open air shower were superb. The egg breakfasts were great. There's a small walk to the nearest restaurant La Gaviota (HIGHLY recommended, try...

My wife and I take a week in Mexico every year to sit on the beach and forget about the stresses of our every day lives. Our normal location is Isla Mujeres staying at our suite at Hotel Playa Media Luna (which we still love) - but after spending a week at Casa don Francisco, I doubt we'll be seeing...

My wife and I stayed at the Don Francisco for a week in early January and found it to be charming, friendly and attractive. The hotel is located on a steep hillside so it takes some effort to walk up to the lobby from Playa Ropa beach. Our room was near the top so it took 72 steps to reach...

My wife and I just returned from a 5 night stay at CDF. We had a great time. We stayed in the Pez Vela suite and loved it. This suite is very roomy and has a fantastic view of Zihuatanejo Bay. Our private plunge pool felt great after walking to and from town on a sunny day. We ate breakfast...

This was our first trip to Z and were taken aback by the quiet, peaceful feel of the area. We had never stayed in a non all-inclusive hotel before and were looking for something a little different. We have travelled a fair bit in Mexico and feel we know what to expect as far as the people and the weather...

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at HCDF. We stayed in the Pez Vela suite and loved it. The room is very clean and well kept along with the grounds. The hotel staff is very friendly and communication is not difficult. We loved the view from our room and the hammock on the veranda is so relaxing. If...

Beautiful place, excellent views, private pools and comfortable rooms. Relatively steep terrain with alot of steps depending on your suite. Friendly family staff with a well stocked mini bar and bottled water provided at a fair price. HOWEVER,,,...If you or your family cannot handle a screaching dog that might bark from 11PM till 8AM think again. I personally slept through...

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in Zihua May 20-27. The weather during this time was perfect! We stayed in Pez Vela, one of the 2nd floor rooms with the infinity pool and view of the Pacific Ocean. Our experience is exactly as everyone else's - Great staff - Miriam and Cesar are friendly and completely service-oriented. Erica...

If you are looking to stay at a hotel, where you can sit in your own private infinity pool and look out at the ocean off of the deck of your spacious suite, served a "made to order" hot breakfast every morning and get treated like you are an honored guest, then you really need to stay at Casa Don...

I am fortuanate to have traveled in Mexico some, so I am somewhat amused by the person that wrote "you almost have to speak Spanish to stay there, the night-watchman did not have a key,".....all WONDERFUL things when you travel.....much less in Mexico!
