I confirmed my Gillow Hotel reservation (double room with bath, Jan. 14-23, 2015) on the phone with Lourdes BUT I can't get them to send a confirmation email. Since we're in our 70s and not arriving until 22:00 I am worried. How did you get them to confirm?
Also I would like room 515 or one of the newly renovated rooms but I cannot get the Gillow hotel to take my credit card to guarantee the reservation or to confirm.

This is an old and old-fashioned hotel - that is a large part of its charm - but they are not very strong on electronic devices like email or credit cards. If you have made a booking by phone, I am sure that will be OK. Like so many places in Latin America, they live in the present, not the future, and once you arrive everything will be done to ensure your comfort.
I hope this puts your mind at rest and that you will enjoy a stay in one of the loveliest hotels in D.F.
