Quiet, safe spot in quiet, safe neighborhood. Comfortable rooms, with modest daily continental breakfast. Staff extremely accommodating. Easy walking distance to Frida Kahlo Museum and other attractions, including restaurants of various types and at various price points. Good choice if you have business at the National University, although you'll still want a cab, the Metro or the Metrobus to get... More

This hotel has a very good location. It's near the main plaza, and Frida's blue house. The staff of this hotel is very helpful, they gave us a map that was very helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. There is breakfast, seasonal fruit, and different types of bread.

We loved the neighborhood, the staff could have been a little more helpful. The language barrier was a problem. We speak some Spanish but the staff seemed to not want to meet us halfway. Our apartment was cozy, cute and clean.

This hotel is perfect if you want to stay in the charming neighborhood of Coyoacán in Mexico City. It's very close to museums, the main square, and public transit options. Rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and very friendly, laid-back staff. Highly recommended.

The place was clean, comfortable, and affordable. The neighborhood was lovely and peaceful. I missed not having a cafe or coffee shop within the property, but restaurants were nearby--well within walking distance.

Chalet del Carmen is clean and neat, located in a quiet street. I slept downstairs and the room was fine. Apart from a small courtyard, there is nowhere to sit and meet other people, so it was a rather impersonal experience.

We stayed five nights in Camelie Suite, which is just off the entry area. It has a sleeping lounging area, a dining room, a kitchen and a small bathroom. The bathroom has one of those small shower stalls where, if you are abnormally tall, as I am, when you lean over to wash our hair, your backside hits the shower... More

We spent two nights here and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Catalina (I think!), a double room next to the internal courtyard. It was furnished to a high quality and very comfortable. The hotel is hidden away on a quiet street so you are guaranteed a good night's sleep here. Lots of nice bars and restaurants are just... More

If you are looking for a simple but nice place to stay in the Southern part of town (Coyoacan), this could be just the right place for you. Run by a Swiss-Mexican couple, this "urban house" has adequately decorated rooms, is clean, well priced and walking distance away from the heart of colonial Coyoacan. The tap water is potable, there... More

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
