We stayed at Un Sueno 5 nights with a Traditions Mexico tour in March. This is a small, clean hotel about 7 blocks from the Santo Domingo church. We stayed in two different rooms. Room 10 is on the second floor and is a quiet room with 2 double beds and large bathroom. There are no windows facing out into...

I spent 6 nights at Un Sueño de Huajes travelling solo and felt completely at home and cared for in one of about a dozen rooms that have all had a recent makeover around a central courtyard. The en suites are all clean, bright and spacious with good beds and bathrooms. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Zócalo...

I was in Oaxaca for a couple of days and found very handy to stay at Un sueño: the position is very close to the center, and a few steps from a beautiful little market. Room was clean and colors and design used for the forniture and interiors are made with attention to the smallest details. Internal patio and rooftop...

My friend and I spent few days visiting Oaxaca for some business. It was very relaxing to come back every night to this peaceful and beautiful place. The room was always clean and everything we needed was already there. The interior is decorated with minimal and elegant design. Location is very handy for travelers as well as people who need...

The actual name is Un Sueño Valle de Huajes. Difficult to make a review. We made a reservation with booking.com and they simply ignored it. On our arrival they just said "those mails get to our property in the coast". Oaxaca is full of great hotels and top service, this one send you to the street to find a room...

I booked this via AirBNB and was very disappointed. This place bills itself as a boutique hotel but has none of the service one would expect. Staff were untrained and unhelpful. The room was reasonably clean but the location next to the stairs was very noisy particularly as a large group had taken multiple rooms and were partying until after...

This is a new alternative for a nice experience downtown Oaxaca city. the place has just opened and the location is great. It's a calm 12 rooms hotel just 3 blocks away from Santo Domingo ex-convent. The place is quiet and well arrange, you will enjoy rooms nicely decorated with modern and funcional features. Colors are great and don't forget...

Many of these reviews seem old, and my experience has been different, so I’ll chime in. Neighborhood: I’ve been in Oaxaca for two months and it’s a noisy city, even in the more residential neighborhoods as this one is (at least 10 blocks from the zocalo). But last night, I did not hear the usual dogs, fireworks or political demonstrations;...

I agree about it being clean. Also, it's pretty, the bathroom was up to date, white paint was fresh, plants watered, furniture, curtains and other equipment appeared to be recently purchased and installed (2 years ago, perhaps). But unfortunately there were 3 or 4 nights when the street noise (car radios) and barking dogs penetrated into our room. The pretty...

First the rooms are spotless, up to date bathroom, beds comfortable. Towels hard and stiff, beds are bit on the hard side. Doors to rooms not sound proof at all. Arrived and was told that they would not except credit cards only cash. No alcohol at all in the rooms or anywhere else on the property. You must leave the...

“I imagine the rooms that don't overlook the minor street outside would be quieter.”

“Room 4 is just feet from that fountain, with a view of the front desk, if that feels more secure to you.”

“Ask for their quietest room. Emphasize quiet -- "lo silencio." Anything overlooking the street risks barking dogs and neighbors who watch TV late. On the other hand, voices from the front desk echo into the courtyard-side rooms, so if you're a light sleeper, mention it. Be nice to the staff; they're trying. Hint: the son of the limpieza actually has quite a lot of English.”
