In comparison to other places we stayed, these rooms were really small, but you know what - we didn't really care and the aircon worked a treat. This is so close to the city centre it was easy to just go to the markets, then walk back, dump your stuff and go out again. I loved all the birds at...

This is a very nice hotel at a very central location. Very close to city center. Room was nice and clean although a bit too small. AC works well. Bed was comfortable and service was very friendly. We had one dinner there which was not great compared to other restaurants in Oxaca. Overall a recommended place to stay in Oxaca.

I must say, great service and great stay all around. The rooms are nice and neat, pretty close to the Zócalo and the restaurants. The food in the hotel's restaurant is excellent by Mexican standards (please try the mole sampler). The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. When I return to Oaxaca for pleasure I will definitely return there. The...

Because we wanted to travel to the surrounding Villages throughout the week, but also enjoy the "city" life every day we choose this very centrally located hotel. The valet service came in handy, especially since there were street closings, (due to teacher protests going on during our stay) and the restaurant staff was extremely serviceable. I had seen this hotel...

Parador San Miguel is my favorite hotel in Oaxaca. We usually stay in a junior suite because we like the extra room. This hotel has so much to offer. It is located one block from the zocalo which makes it handy for shopping. I like the way the hotel is decorated-many of the pieces I have spent a year or...

The location is perfectly located near the zocalo and main sights of Oaxaca. The service was friendly, professional, and english-only speakers should note that there was always someone available to speak english. The room was immaculate, and cleaned thoroughly every day, including making delightful animals out of hand towels daily (elephants one day, teddy bear another, etc.) and folded objects...

Room was very clean and I love the artisanal soups they provide. Staff is excellent. Served our purpose of staying for only one night and continuing our travel next morning. Unfortunately there was some construction taking place at the building behind and literally we woke up feeling there were going to poem a hole in the wall... Good thing we...

The hotel is very quiet during night, it is close to the "Zocalo" so you can have breakfast at "The Portales" , still the hotel restaurant has a nice menu, try "Tlayudas con tasajo" or "Tasajo tacos". at night it´s very quiet, if you go out at night they close the door at 10pm but there is a staff member...

The hotel is just as others have said. Clean, great staff, great location, pleasant surrounds. There were birds, mostly natives ones, in small cages. Our room was right by the cardinal and oriole. They both appeared frightened and unsettled. All but one of the cages were quite small and birds could spread their wings, but pretty much had to stay...

A group of us stayed in this boutique hotel for four nights, starting on March 6th. We liked the location very much, as it is very close to the Zocalo. The rooms were all very clean, nicely decorated, and with all the amenities one might need. The restaurant on site has very good food and reasonably priced. The staff could...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With a privileged location, 20 minutes from the airport. In the historical downtown area, only a half block from the Central Alameda. The beautiful colonial-style building has three floors with 23 rooms, including four suites.Located on one of the main avenues in the city, the facade had a grand entry door of carved cedar, opening to a lovely porch with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel.A wrought iron gate opens to the hotel vestibule, where walls of ochre, terra-cotta, beige and cream combine with dark green ironwork and green granite columns to provide a dramatic backdrop for the brilliant bougainvillea and geraniums that thrive in the home's central patio. From here you can catch a hint of the spellbinding flavors of our Oaxacan kitchen. In "La Cocina" you can choose a magical dish to your specifications.Small gardens lead to the first level rooms. A majestic green granite stairway crowned with glorious stained glass leads to the second and third levels. On the second level terrace, you could relax or sunbathe accompanied by canaries in a kaleidoscope of multicolored flowers. ... more   less
