Best thing about iguana is the staff. Very friendly and extremely helpful. Some good tours to nearby villages are very interesting and affordable. Nice different breakfast each day along with coffee and tea. Rooms are tidy if not a bit cramped at times. Lovely outdoor patio with hammocks. Could do with some Bathmats though! The floor in the bathrooms got...

I miss this hostel. It was a great experience. I recently stayed two weeks there and found the staff especially friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be with. One of the highlights each day was breakfast-very delicious. They use a fascinating combination of skill and imagination in the kitchen. I am eager to return.

I stayed in Iguana as it had been recommended to me by several different people. I'm so glad I did because it had an incredibly unique and warm atmosphere. The staff who work there were all really helpful and from 8am every morning, would have a delicious, fresh breakfast prepared. Never the same things two days in a row and...

I came to San Cristobal thinking that I would only stay for a couple of days, but after getting to the iguana hostel I found it hard to leave. The place feels like a big house, has a backyard, and attracts good interesting people. The owner Rudy treats all the guests very well and is a very nice fella. He...

Hostel Iguana has an awesome set up, with hammocks to relax in, a communal area to meet new friends and delicious home made breakfast every morning. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Four years since opening, IGUANA HOSTEL is well known among backpackers for its family, chilled out and fun atmosphere. People come to the Iguana for two nights and they stay for two weeks... This is because Iguana Hostel can host only up to 27 people, so it's easy to make friends to share fun with, and we will always take good care of you. Our main asset is our staff: travellers on the road, who love making friends, and speak your language. The IGUANA HOSTEL is situated in a historic Barrio del Cerrillo, with a panoramic view from the terrace. The hostel is located near Santo Domingo a church surrounded and a colourful handcraft market, 2 blocks from the public market and only 7 minutes walk from the very heart of the city: la Catedral and el Parque Central. ... more   less
