Great COVID protocols everywhere. Much respect and kindness from the entire team. Butlers were amazing. Qnything you need, just message them and they will respond right away. Make your reservations, and send you daily events. Resort is definitely worth the money.
wonderful restaurant choices, turquoise tower hot tubs in room perfect, rooms very clean..beach cabana perfect, zen spa great. Wonder shows, very close to great nightlife, wonder scenery , infinity pool excellent.
My wife and I stayed at Hyatt Ziva from 1/10-1/17/21. We stayed in the Turquoise Tower on the 8th floor, room 816. Last year we came down about the same time frame. We went back because we enjoyed ourselves so much last year, we did not want to be disappointed at another location. The tower is the newest part of the resort and the only adults only accommodation. The rooms are nice, big, with huge bathrooms, great walk in showers, comfortable beds, a couch, mini bar and we had a stunning ocean view balcony with a hot tub. In this tower you get a “butler” which is more like two personal concierges. This trip we had Enif and Gustavo. They were so helpful all week. You can use “whats app” to message them questions or ask them to do stuff for you. It sounds more posh than it is, but they really are very helpful. I would message them to make dinner reservations or to send room service. A couple of times they drew baths for us since our room had a hot tub on the balcony, things like that. They truly went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. They were always fast to respond, from 7AM to 11PM and even beyond when we had a small noise complaint that they quickly took care of. One of the best parts of this hotel is its location. It sits on a peninsula and you have two beaches on either side of the resort. One more private, and the other on the side with all of the resorts but at the end. You can get from the pool to the beach in seconds and the views are breathtaking all around. The beach is nice too, not all rocks. Everyone says that the Hyatt is best because of the beach which is significantly larger than most of not all in the hotel zone. My favorite part about this resort was the Spa. If you stay in the Turquoise tower you can access the spa amenities for free from 9am-1pm (last year 8am-2pm). The spa has nice locker rooms, pool, hot tub, cold pool, sauna, and a steam room. The steam room was under repair on my last visit but appeared to be almost fixed. When we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by either Fernando or Alfonso, they will ask you to sign in and offer you a locker with a robe if you want. They treat you to flavored waters, served by spa staff(Raul) while you sit poolside with a warm neck wrap on. It’s an amazing experience any time, it’s particularly nice when the weather isn’t great since the large pool is indoors but has a full wall of windows! We actually booked our 50/min couples sweedish (150pp, last year 100pp) massage through Cesar and Jose. If you want the best prices you must speak to one of these two, they will walk you through your best options. You can find them wearing fuchsia colored polos hanging around the resort. Our massages were amazing. Equally good as my last year's experience. Thank you to Azucena and Ariana for the great service. My wife and I could not stop talking about how much we enjoyed our experience. Next time we are going to book the longer one! Overall the food at this resort is good. The mexican food is the best, duh. You can eat lunch on the beach! We had Carlos as our server a few times, he crushed it. Our better dinner experiences were at the asain (Moongate) and french (La Bastille) restaurants. I’ll skip what we ordered since it will likely change but just like last year we ate at each of these places twice. The buffett is good, just a bit odd as they serve you now during covid times, which is way more sanitary but takes a little longer. It's also the only place you can go to breakfast in the resort. That has changed from last year, however with a lowered capacity it makes sense. The menus were smaller, but the food was better than I remembered. We also really enjoyed the coffee bar, which never disappoints with their drinks. My wife LOVES the fruit cart around the pool. The pool situation here is ideal! They have two huge pools, the main pool is so close to the beach you can bounce back and forth easily. They also have two hot tubs, on at each pool. One swim up bar which is the pool we hung out at the most. A whole crew of poolside servers take great care of you while you are hanging out. Oliver and Raul were the two who hooked me up the most! They were fast, on top of their games and would sometimes bring me another round without asking. The pool side crew led by Freddy, a man with more energy than I can imagine, keep the party going poolside with games and entertainment. There is an adults only pool above the lobby, but we have found this time of year it gets a little windy up there. One big change from last year was constant upsellings. Basically anyone we talked to would try to upsell us on what we were currently eating, or what we were going to eat in the future. Unlike other places i've been, once you said no thanks, they don't push. Again, it makes sense, when we were visiting the hotel it was at 60% capacity, assuming it was full. The cabanas at the pool and on the beach were in much better places than previous year, really trying to sell those as well. Still lots of seats if you didn't want to pay 90$ for the day. We did also book an excursion through Francico which is right in the hotel, across from the shops. We went to Tulumn and the Cenotes,It was $112 USD per person and we had a GREAT time. It was a full day, almost 12 hours. La petite Chef was something my Wife has been following on Instagram for a while. It's a fun family friendly experience with a four course meal with wine pairings. Check it out on the gram and if it looks fun do it! Extra charge of course.(150pp) We wound up paying extra for a private airport transfer. Last year it was free with our stay(booked via Expedia), this year you could still get it free but you would have to book six days directly through the hotel. It was worth it, find a guy with your name on it and you are good. One the way in they outsourced the service to a 3rd party which was a little disappointing. One the way back we were in the Hyatt Tahoe. I’m not sure how much taxis are but this service was 165$ If i could name drop every person i dealt with over the week i would. I did not have one bad interaction with the staff. Everyone legit seems like they like their jobs. I’ve been to other places where you feel like you are bothering the staff, not here. I recommend this resort and i can’t wait to go back next year. We would also like to commend the resort for doing everything they could to keep everything as clean and safe during COVID as they could. Never once did we see any member of staff without a properly fitting mask on. They had shoe sanitizing stations, all the surfaces were regularly cleaned, they encouraged social distancing, everyone got wipes and hand sanitizer in their room everyday, lots of pre-packaged and wrapped items and so much more behind the scenes that i’m sure that we didn’t even notice, just to keep us safe. Thank you.…
Stayed in the Turquoize tower, room had an amazing view of the beach with the hot tub on the balcony, completely worth the extra cost, made full use of the amazing personalized butler service. Hotel went above and beyond to keep things clean and safe. All of the food venues, bars and public areas were always very clean. The resort is spectacular, gorgeous views at every turn, beach, cliff, reef, wild life (dolphin lagoon), lighthouse point and the biggest pools I've ever seen at a resort. The service was perfect at all the restaurants and bars....never had to wait for anything.
This resort was so much better than the pics and description on line. The views from our room were amazing. The cleanliness and layout of the room was perfect. They brought in an extra cot for our son at no charge, which was fabulous and comfortable.
