Club Med Cancun is often celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and abundant amenities, including beautiful beaches and a range of activities. While the location near calm waters and coral reefs is a highlight for many guests, some travelers feel the hotel does not offer good value for money, citing outdated rooms and extra costs.
The service receives mixed reviews, with most finding it warm and professional, yet others experienced inconsistencies. Despite the commendation for overall cleanliness, there are calls for updates and better maintenance.

15-21 MARCH 2024 CANCUN TRIPADVISOR.COM REVIEW
View from 1,000 Feet/Meters
I recently returned from my 105th Club Med holiday – this time to wonderful Club Med Cancun Yucatan. This was my 5th visit to this Village over the last 36 years.
As always, a very last minute travel decision and then arrangements – all during Spring Break! What was I thinking? Read on!
But thanks to the AMAZING Management Team in place – even working with me well before my Village Arrival – my trip was as smooth as those made months in advance!
See below for my “GOLD MEDAL AWARDS TO TRULY EXCEPTIONAL Management/GO/GE Team Members.”
Platinum Level Club Med Member Perspective:
While each Club Med Village strives to provide THE VERY BEST GUEST VACATION EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE - AND THEY REALLY DO STRIVE TO DO THIS – after 105 Club Med trips over the last 39 years – you learn that nothing in this world is perfect. NEAR PERFECT IS GOOD ENOUGH!
Arrive with a smile on your Face and positive attitude, and remember that a friendly gesture, and “Hello,” “Good-bye,” “Please,” and ”Thank You” GOES A LONG WAY.
Being Nice, Courteous, and having Good Manners COSTS NOTHING! Also, YOU ATTRACT BEES WITH HONEY, not with Vinegar.
BE GENEROUS WITH TIPS! If you are Blessed enough to afford a Club Med vacation - you certainly can afford a few extra dollars for Tips.
Transportation from Cancun Airport (CUN) and the Village:
Every airline flies to Cancun (CUN). My MIA/CUN flight was a short 65 minutes. I travel V/V (without included Transfers), so had Club Med Traffic Manager Raphael Portugal arrange my transport to the Village. As promised with excellent prior Communications from Planning, Traffic, and Guest Relations, a Club Med Representative was waiting for me outside the Airport Exit at the Margaritaville Bar. Because of the Village’s exceptional location in Cancun, it is a very short drive from the airport – all for $60 US Round-trip (Not including Tips).
“EASY ARRIVAL” Early Check-In
I completed the On-Line Form before Departure – and printed out confirmation of my 6,000 Peso Credit Card Hold. I used the Credit Card I use for all International Expenses (no FX Charges). This process established a customary Credit Card Hold and Opened a Village Expense Account. Never had to pull out my Credit Card again the entire trip!
Village Layout:
The CM Cancun Village is built on the southern tip of Cancun and is totally surrounded by beautiful water. As the very first development – it has the LARGEST and BEST PIECE of real estate in Cancun. To the North is the Caribbean Sea with a long sand beach with plenty of chaise lounges and Palapa sun protection; to the East is the reef with portions literally coming up to the land for great Snorkeling; to the South is the calmer portion of the Caribbean Sea – more like a Bay – with Water Sports, Snorkeling, and Diving Departures; the Cancun Lagoon is to the West.
The Village is in the shape of a letter “U” resting on its side and facing West– with the above Cancun Lagoon in the middle. The Village Square (Reception and Offices, Theater, Main Dining Room, Pool, Boutique, and ALL Village Services and Operations) is located at the very Northeast Corner along the beach. From there, all ten Guest Room Buildings, Taco Arte Annex Restaurant, Sport Venues, etc. takes advantage of the Sea, Lagoon, and rest of the amazing location along the sides of the “U”.
Golf Cart Buggies often depart from Reception to transport everyone along the Eastern and Southern side of the “U”. A very beautiful ride. If you don’t want to wait, you can walk to burn-off calories!
Preferred Accommodations:
IT IS ALL ABOUT LOCATION – as I think most of the “Superior” rooms in eight (of the ten) buildings are identical, nice, clean and comfortable, and come equipped with a Balcony, a bathroom with double sinks, marvelous Rain Shower, separate W/C, plenty of closet space, electronic bracelet safe for valuables, sunken seating area, and a small refrigerator.
The Village is quite large, so I requested to Planning Manager Carlos Sanchez – even during extremely busy Spring Break and in the last minute - a room assignment in a Building near the Village Square. My favorites are Turquesa (4000) or Topacio (3000). PERFECTO!
Throughout the entire Village, EVEN room numbers face the Ocean; ODD number rooms face the Lagoon. “X0XX” is Ground Floor; “X1XX” second floor, “X2XX” third floor, etc. 3009 - my Ground Floor Lagoon View room was well-located. I THOUGHT I WAS STAYING IN A LARGE STATEROOM ON A YACHT FLOATING ON THE WATER. AWESOME!
Note: Never be shy to call Reception (I had the Benefit of Guest Relations) to let them know if something in your room is not working. THE GOAL IS YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT. My requests were quickly addressed.
Main Soluna Bar:
The ever-important Soluna Main Bar is centrally located near the Beach, Main Pool Deck, Outdoor Entertainment Venue, and Reception. After the Evening Show/Entertainment, it also serves as the Night Club for Crazy Signs and Dancing.
Restaurants Selection:
There are THREE RESTAURANTS serving DELICIOUS food almost around the clock – and Las Velas Bar/Crepari/Snack Bar on the Main Pool Deck. Each provides a wide selection, including Baby and Kid-Friendly food (although, what a wonderful opportunity to expand a Child’s palate!) PACE YOURSELF! You will never be hungry!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS INVITE TWO GO’s TO JOIN YOU FOR YOUR MEALS! All have an infinite amount of wonderful stories AND LAUGHS to share:
1.La Hacienda Restaurant – Main Buffet Restaurant located on a Second Floor OVER the Village Square serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. It has the largest food selection, with many unique and interesting Dining Rooms surrounding the Buffet area. DON’T GET LOST when you get up from your table seeking more DELICIOUS food! Take note which Dining Room you are in. SERIOUSLY!
2.Taco Arte Restaurant and Bar – A thatched roof “Palapa” Restaurant built over the water on the quiet portion of the Caribbean Sea between the Jade and AguaMarina buildings. Taco Arte has a Mexican-themed Buffet for Breakfast and Lunch, and for Dinner converts to a Limited Reservation Sit-Down Dinner Restaurant. Note: Dinner no longer has a Menu. Each night the Chef prepares different delicious and beautifully served Starters, Mains, and Desserts, all “Family Style.” This is a GREAT concept for a Family Village! It allows children to easily point and choose what they would like to try from the large plates before them. While the DELICIOUS Breakfast and Lunch Buffet is smaller than La Hacienda Restaurant – AL FRESCO DINING SITTING OVER THE SEA IS THE BEST! All my Breakfasts, Lunches, and Reservation Dinners were literally hours long. I closed Taco Arte for each meal. PURE BLISS AND DELICIOUS! THANK YOU TACO ARTE MANAGERS ASHISH AND PAVEL, CHEFS, AND THE CARIBBEAN SEA!
Dinner Reservations – and they are limited, were made for me by Guest Relations up to two days in advance. Ask Reception how they are made. In the past they were made on the Club Med Cancun APP. I hosted a large Group (12 Guests) three separate nights. My Group dinners were served “Ala Carte” style – with the identical food served “Family Style.” CM CANCUN OVERALL RESTAURANT MANAGER CARLOS SIERRA, AND TACO ARTE RESTAURANT MANAGERS ASHISH AND PAVEL WERE AMAZING. AND THAT IS A GROSS UNDERSTATEMENT. I WAS TREATED BETTER THAN A KING! THANK YOU! TRULY! Caution: While Children are invited, the two hour dinner may test a child’s patience.
3.La Estancia Restaurant (Argentinian Steakhouse) – Is a Limited Reservation Sit-Down Dinner (and late night snacks until Midnight) venue located steps from Reception. Like Taco Arte, I hosted a large Group (12 Guests) two separate nights – both Al Fresco. The first meal was at the most amazing location overlooking the Beach, Caribbean Sea, the Entire Cancun Strip, and full moon. AT BOTH DINNERS, I HAD THE BEST STEAK EVER (and I have eaten in some of the finest Steakhouses). Once again, CM CANCUN OVERALL RESTAURANT MANAGER CARLOS SIERRA, AND LA ESTANCIA RESTAURANT MANAGERS ALICIA AND ARTURO WERE AMAZING. AND THAT IS A GROSS UNDERSTATEMENT. I WAS TREATED BETTER THAN A KING! THANK YOU! TRULY! Caution: While Children are invited, the two hour dinner may test a child’s patience.
Sports:
1.SAILING – I actually learned how to Sail at Cancun 36 years ago – SO AM CONSIDERED A SERIOUS SAILOR (I also teach Sailing). I had a great time with the Wonderful Sailing Team GO’s OBED (Mgr.), TARIK, DORIAN, ABSCES, AND PABLO. IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE SUCH A GLOBALLY AND RELIGIOUSLY DIVERSE GROUP OF GO’S OPERATING SO WELL TOGETHER. THE TEAM WAS A WELL-FUNCTIONING UNITED NATIONS! IT WAS EVEN MORE AMAZING TO HOST THEM FOR MULTIPLE DINNERS AT THE ABOVE RESTAURANTS. EACH GO MORE INTERESTING THAN THE NEXT! I WANTED TO ADOPT EACH ONE – BUT WILL KIDNAP THEM TO CLUB MED TURKOISE INSTEAD! Oh, yes I did get to Sail the eight Hobie Waves. Also, helped teach Sailing to a Beginner and took Day Pass Guests out for rides. I HAD FUN! I LOVE TO SAIL WHEREVER I CAN! Unfortunately, the Sailing Zone has been slightly reduced to make way for the ever increasing number of annoying little power-boat Excursions. At one point I counted 30 of them, ready to get in the way of Sailing. AARGH! Unfortunately, CM Cancun must share the best Caribbean Sea location in Cancun with everyone else. If your feet are sensitive to walking on rocks and stones, bring water shoes. There are a few SUP’s and many Kayaks to use. Hobie 16’s and Windsurfing is no longer being offered as a Water Sport. However, North America/Caribbean Zone Water Sports Manager Franz is introducing a new Hand-Held Sailing “Wing” to replace Windsurfing and mimic Kite-Boarding. GO Tarik was busy trying to learn how to use it after hours. HaHa!
2.CIRCUS - While I do not participate, a dear friend who was unable to come on this trip is an extremely serious and talented Flyer. Late one afternoon I headed over to the Island where the Circus Rig is located - next to the Amatista (1000) building. Circus Team GO’s Bella, Edgar, Kyle, Chucho, and Coco let me take some wonderful pics of the Team to send to my buddy.
3.TENNIS - While I also do not play Tennis (I come from an intimidating Professional Tennis Family) - I do know the Great Cancun Tennis Manager and Pro JAVI (a Legend in Cancun) - primarily through both my Buddies who are serious Tennis players. JAVI joined my large Group for Dinner every night. The conversations were so funny that we closed both Restaurants every meal. From my understanding, all Cancun Tennis Pros are skilled Instructors – and have many repeat GM’s coming specifically for their training. The Ultimate Compliment.
Ambiance:
There is a wonderful Mexican infused Club Med Vibe wherever you go in the Village. Everyone has a smile on their faces – even the plentiful Iguanas! I expected this from Guests on holiday – but, all of the Management and GO/GE Staff did as well. SIMPLY PUT – SUCH NICE PEOPLE!
I am known to search out and find the best “Secret” locations in any Club Med Village I visit:
1.The Cancun “Riviera” - The long paver walkway from Reception to the Topachio (3000) Building along the Beach reminds me of the beautiful Promenades along the French, Spanish, Italian, and Croatian Riviera(s). Yes, I have been to all – I AM BLESSED! In Cancun I always make it a point to stroll the entire length. In Europe, people are wearing their finest; In Cancun I am usually in a wet bathing suit and T-shirt.
2. Best Sunset Location – The Bar at the Taco Arte Annex Restaurant. Enjoy a perfect Sunset over the Caribbean Sea while sipping on your favorite cocktail. My favorite is a hot Cappuccino with two shots of Baileys for sweetness. OK – three shots! Don’t forget your camera! If you cannot make it to Taco Arte – you can view the Sunset from the Main Pool Deck.
GOLD MEDAL AWARDS TO TRULY EXCEPTIONAL Management/GO/GE Team Members :
1. CARLOS SANCHEZ (Planning Manager) - an old friend from Club Med Turkoise (2018/2019) who was my main Village Contact before my arrival, and placed me IN THE BEST ROOM IMAGINABLE!
2. THE ENTIRE GUEST RELATIONS TEAM OF JULIA (MANAGER), ANDRE’, JENNIFER, AND JERSEY! All were MAGICAL in Warmly Welcoming me to CM Cancun, solving challenges, fulfilling requests “above and beyond the call of duty,” always with big smiles on their faces.
3. CARLOS SIERRA (OVERALL RESTAURANT MANAGER) – who fulfilled my challenging Annex Restaurant requests, always placing my large Group at the Best Tables in the House, switching “Family Style” service to “Ala Carte,” and just when I thought he would murder me – had the Chef serve his famous Foie Gras to my 12 Guests! I HAVE SELDOM MET A MANAGER WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE WAS TO PLEASE. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
4. THE ENTIRE SAILING TEAM OF OBED, TARIK, DORIAN, ABSCES, AND PABLO. To repeat from above, IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE SUCH A GLOBALLY AND RELIGIOUSLY DIVERSE GROUP OF GO’S OPERATING SO WELL TOGETHER. THE TEAM WAS A WELL-FUNCTIONING UNITED NATIONS! I WANTED TO ADOPT EACH ONE – BUT WILL KIDNAP THEM TO CLUB MED TURKOISE INSTEAD!
5. ASHISH AND PAVEL (Taco Arte Restaurant Managers) – Amazing handling my large Group.
6. ALICIA AND ARTURO (La Estancia Restaurant Managers) – Also Amazing handling my large Group.
7. RAPHAEL PORTUGAL (Traffic Manager) – who so clearly communicated Transportation Instructions from CUN to the Village to ensure my Safety and Comfort.
8. ELIZABETH (Room Division Manager) – who was just lovely and quickly handled some Friend’s room challenges.
9. BIANCA CAPONI (Assistant CDV). I cannot wait for her Arrival to Club Med Turkoise as Interim CDV! Welcome Aboard!
10. AND ALL THE CHEFS PREPARING THE ENDLESS DELICIOUS MEALS!
Chris Keeley/”Hammer” (North America/Carribean Zone Human Resources Manager) – Please take note of all the names above. I hope you will consider reassigning all of Cancun’s EXCEPTIONAL Staff to the Club Med Turkoise Village very soon!
In Conclusion:
I HAD AN AMAZING # 5 CANCUN HOLIDAY! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN.
While visiting Club Med Villages – I work to make the Team there as happy as they always make me. Based on the Nickname I was given (No, it was not “Pain in the A….”) – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

This was our first time back to Cancun Club Med after its last major remodel. We stayed in the Aguamarina area which we found to be perfect for families and the new pool area was amazingly quiet and clean. There is also a smaller boutique and excursions office in this location which we thought was convenient. We avoided the main pool area when possible and the trolly service worked quite well.
In terms of thanks, Amira was a wonderful welcome and a friendly face all week. My teenage daughters loved Momo at the teen club and Flavie at the circus while I really enjoyed my spin classes daily with Marianne or Aiden. The spa is always well run with very good services.
We thought the steak restaurant was not worth the hype but did enjoy a nice lunch there on Friday for platinum members. It would have been nice if the chiefs of the village who had a lot of energy throughout the week spent more personal time with GMs at invitations like this. Felt the same way at the reception at the Jade. Never seems like English speaking people are a priority with the chiefs. We preferred the main restaurant for dinner and the restaurant by sailing for lunch.
Despite the fact it was a very busy week, the resort never felt crowded and service was staffed to make sure no one had to wait for food or drinks. The food had a nice variety and the outside music entertainment was quite good. The gym was well kept and never too crowded and liked the placement of the yoga and body classes in its new location. It’s also a lot more convenient to have room keys attached to your bracelet and safe inside the room. Housecleaning was incredible and very receptive to our sporadic hours.
We really like this resort and it’s the only reason we would go to Cancun. It’s fantastic for teenagers and families with kids of all ages. The beach is clean and easy to walk on and never felt unsafe.

We've just returned from a fantastic two weeks at Club Med Cancun, which gave our family everything we needed! It's a beautiful setting, with multiple beaches, and two pools, so if one is a bit busy or too windy, there's always another great spot.
My husband was really impressed with the tennis coaching from Octavio & Javier, they are really experienced and he learnt and improved so much.
My 12yo son really enjoyed the tweens/teens club, Momo & Julio kept him engaged and he had so much fun kayaking, snorkeling, trapezing and doing archery. He loved that he could come and go as he wanted, and we loved that he could wander securely around the resort.
Mao, Marianne & Aiden are the most fantastic fitness team. All three had great energy, fabulously varied classes, and they were all so mindful of any guests with injuries and making sure that everyone taking part in their classes was doing exercises correctly, it was so great to see (I've got so used to resort fitness instructors following a formula that I often find the classes boring - not here!) and to know that they really all did have so much knowledge. I especially enjoyed Mao's Zumba classes... Zumba is his passion, and it's so obvious to see, his joy is contagious. I did almost every Zumba class over two weeks and was amazed that not only did he not repeat a class, he only repeated about 5 or 6 songs in all that time. It was so much fun!
Valeria, who looked after our rooms, did such a great job, everything was spotless, and she even brought our washing in from the balcony when there was a sudden thunderstorm.
The food was absolutely fantastic, particularly the buffet at La Hacienda and the Mexican a la carte at Taco Arte. Fabulous choice and the quality of produce, fish and seafood was amazing. The only low was a meal at La Estancia where we found the steak to be much lower quality than everything else we'd eaten. As a dairy free family, a few more free-from desserts to choose from would have been great, but we did enjoy the fruit and sorbets.
I did 3 excursions, to Chichen Itza, Ek Balam & Coba, and found all 3 to be well organised with really informative guides, with enough time for me to see everything and not quite enough time for my son to get bored. I loved all the cenote stops too, it's a great experience to swim in them.
All in all, a brilliant holiday, and it's taken a few days of rest at home to recover!

A week in Club Med with the family is always a great experience and last week was not an exception.
In Cancun, Club Med had implemented everything they can in terms of sanitary measures to make us feel safe, including low number of tourists, daily temperature check by camera, permanent mask wearing for employees and social distance.
Food / Drinks are always a wonder with its all inclusive formula, including exquisite Argentinian restaurant on reservation.
Sports/Activities are very wide : from nautical skiing to snorkelling, kayaking or sailing.
Club Med location is perfect because you can enjoy nice beach spot and the new building (Aguamarina) offers you great view and really nice rooms.
The magic of Club Med is in the GOs (their team) who delivers excellent service to their customers under Olivier Sanchez great leadership.
In particular, the Mini club and Teens club (Julio/Santiago) are fantastic for the kids, the circus team is really great and professional (Mauricio/Tammy) as is the reception team too (Thanks again Emmanuel for your help and kindness).
Despite bad weather conditions early November due to hurricanes in Central America, we still enjoyed our week there.

Lets start with the arrival, We were greeted with towels and water or ice tea. we were setup with Nini who gave us a tour to our room she was beyond nice and welcoming and as we pasted other GMs ( guest members) you could really tell they all really liked her as well. We did decide to upgrade our room due to wanting an ocean view. the garden few was meh.
We quickly got undressed and put on our suits after that and headed down to the beach. We were greeted by Fernando AKA Speedy Gonzales. He was so awesome. I highly recommend you sit in his section my drink was legit never empty. He would even recommend drinks. The water was perfect. No seaweed with the ocean view I would see them every AM cleaning it off the beach.
The Food was awesome. My boyfriend tried something new everynight.. from squid to ostrich.
There is an option for everyone even the picky eaters.
The house keeping was on POINT. room constantly cleaned up, bathroom spotless fresh towels, and the bed was made everyday with a chocolate on the pillow.
it was so hard to leave. The people we met, the friends we made, and the memories will always be a reason why I will continue going to club med!

Our family of twelve enjoyed our recent week long stay at the Cancun Club Med. We had three rooms in the Aguamarina building, ours was on the third floor with a great ocean view. The food selection was great and well presented in three main restaurants, two were available for all meals, the third was called an Argentine steak type restaurant and required reservations.
The kids club was popular with our family able to have children's activities available every day, giving their parents a break. A very good kids playground is available. We took part in activities including sailing, kayaking, tennis and snorkelling which included lessons if requested. The resort was wonderfully staffed and all were very friendly. We did get a family photo taken which were available for purchase, unfortunately the cost was quite high and the quality was just so-so. The resort is great on those windy days, you can simply move to the opposite side to have a more sheltered experience. The coral reef and beaches were outstanding, life guards are on duty.

+1
I can't say enough good things about this resort. Safety was number one during our stay. The GO's were so friendly and wore their masks most of the time, except when exercising, as the rest of us. Cleaning was constantly going on in the restaurants, shuttles around the resort, sports equipment, etc. Hand sanitizer was everywhere. When you go in the restaurants, you get your temperature taken and hand sanitize right at the door before you can go in.
The food was great as always with many selections. Everything was already plated or you could ask for whatever you wanted. There were very accommodating with my vegan requests also. I just talked to the chef Alejandro and he was so helpful.
The tennis instructors Javier, Octavio and Sebastian were all friendly and happy to have us there. They are all great at their sport and great instructors and happy to give out pointers at any time. I especially enjoy the aquagym and Kei (sp.) was so energetic and kept us moving! She even joined us for dinner one night. Olivier, the chief of village, was a constant presence making sure everyone was having a great time.
The bartenders were all so friendly and willing to make whatever you want. We especially enjoyed Samuel, who really went out of his way to bring our drinks and make sure we were happy.
If you like the finer things, La Bodega has a great selection of fine wines, cigars, rum, whiskey, you name it, for an extra cost. We did a couple of the wine tasting and they were quite yummy! Well worth it and the staff and sommelier are very knowledgeable.
We did the speed boat excursion around the lagoon and had a blast! The excursion office was very helpful and excited to see us participating and were waiting when we came back to greet us.
Overall, with all the safety protocols, our vacation experience seemed the same as any other Club Med resort we have been to. Friendliness and happiness, with an added flair now of safety. We LOVED it!

Club med but not club med! Well the best covid allows right now! If you have been to club med before it was different, the resort was very quiet. My son and I had a much needed break with beautiful beaches and weather. We had rooms in the new section which were ginormis and had great views of the ocean and provided extra excercise as they were over by the sailing/windsurfing. I have to give a shout out to the Chef Olivie who was everywhere on his scooter. The other stand out GOs that I encountered were the entire circus team, Mauricio, Tammy, Margeaux, Alejandro, and Iyo! The put on an amazing show that was even more spectacular knowing they haven't worked together all that long. Cynthia in snorkeling was the kindest person who went above and beyond! Fai in the sports team was one of the best teachers in yoga and stretching that I have ever had. I wish she had taught yoga everyday and her zumba aqua class was so much FUN! She is a keeper. I also did tennis and the beginner classes were fun and educational, Sebastian and Octavio rocked it. Ragab (sp?) went out of his way always to say hello and see how things were going. The only negative I can say is the restaurant, Taco Arte, seemed to have been overwhelmed, in the morning there was many times I couldn't find a clean table. Many signs mention that utensils are cleaned every 15 minutes but in the week I was there I never saw that occur. Temperatures were taken routinely at Taco Arte but not at the main restaurant and I saw quite a few people coming in the back door without masks on. We got tested 3 days after coming home and both of us were negative so I would say if you are smart you can be safe! Book now and enjoy!!!

If you want a beautiful resort all to yourself, well, come on down! My wife and I were among the relative handful of guests at the Club during the second week of November. It was lovely.
Because of the low occupancy, it appears that all guests were upgraded to the 2 bedroom suites in the new Aguamarina complex facing the ocean. If I had known, we might have brought along the grandkids!
Despite the occupancy, all activities were in full swing, and the staff seemed to far exceed the guests. The only cut-back was that except for one evening, all regular meals were served in the smaller Taco Arte lounge by the ocean. There were perhaps fewer choices overall than there would otherwise been, but the food was still marvelously (and artistically) prepared. Club Med cuisine always far exceeds that of the normal all-inclusive resort.
Again, because of the few guests, there was little bar activity, so the bartenders were falling over themselves to serve you. My wife does not drink, and I try to limit myself, so we did not exactly keep them busy.
Neither of us are really pool people. For those who are, the main pool was basically empty, as was the adult pool. Beautiful loungers, either by a pool or beach, could be had with ease.
What I do enjoy are more active sports. The Hobie Cats were available at will (unlike other resorts, Club Med keeps a good number). The snorkeling at this Club is probably the best north of Akumal. And both my wife and I enjoyed the archery. Due to a knee injury, I was unable to do any water skiing, but that again was readily available without waits at this time. The tennis courts were well-maintained, and were being enjoyed by quite a number of guests (but never crowded). Again, we had virtually the run of the place.
Kudos to the GOs and other staff as usual. They are normally quite gracious. A particular tip of the hat to Cipriano (who often manned the tram and was very fluent and helpful), Shilove (who did a great job with fitness classes), Pyjol (delightful in the archery area), and the voluble beach server, Fernando (Speedy) Gonzales.
I suppose the one potential downside to traveling to the resort at this time is the children's program. Yes, the Kid's Club was technically operating, but there were just a paucity of children. So your little ones may not have a lot of playmates. But for us adults, it was marvelous.

Our 3 generational family went to Club Med Cancun 12/12/20-12/19/20. We left California and our daughter and two little granddaughters left NYC for a vacation in a safer area of Mexico. We took the first flight out of California on United Airlines. Going early means an empty airport. LAX Terminal 7 has been renovated, complete with a live pianist playing at 6am as you go through security. UA offered a video on their cleaning of their aircraft and we felt incredibly safe while flying.
We chose Club Med Cancun because it sits on 56 acres of land, giving the roughly 300 guests enough space to social distance. Additionally, it offers a fabulous mini and petite Club for the children. For my daughter, she loved the trapeze and scuba (the reef here is second to the Great Barrier Reef). We all enjoyed the gym, pools, beach, food,
and nighttime entertainment! While California has big beautiful beaches, they don’t compare to the white, cool, powdered sand of the large main beach here. Club Med has the best location in Cancun! We stayed in the Aguamarina section which offers 2 bedroom, & 2 bath rooms. Be sure to request the rooms on the ground floor where you have a walkout patio to the beach. The pool here is perfect for small children. There is a baby pool and the large pool has a shallow end with water at your ankles that gradually gets deeper.
Most importantly, Club Med was warm and welcoming, as epitomized by the Chief of the Village, Olivier. He made a point to welcome and speak to every guest. This friendly and helpful attitude was shared by all of the staff, who would engage in conversation to make sure you were having a great time.
We were all sad to leave and wished we had stayed for two weeks instead of one. I want to come back woth our son and his family. We highly recommend Club Med Cancun!

Not sure but the work was scheduled for completion. It is a good question that an email directly to the club would answer.
Yes they do - look for the guy wearing a yellow club med tshirt with a club med sign. Hotel is about 15 mins from the airport
We stayed in the Aguamarina building and experienced no problems with construction.
just do the clinics in the morning, they have private lessons, probably $US 100 per hour, but I think the clinics are pretty helpful as is and they are every morning except Saturday morning. Fun low stakes tournaments in the afternoon as well to get more reps for you and your son as well.
