The hotel itself is nice. There were things we really liked and then areas that we were not so fond of. That being said, we typically do not do all inclusive as we feel the value and quality is not there but we decided to give it a try since we have teen boys that like to drink and eat a lot. we had to do it since we traded in through II. Was nice to give the boys the experience of all inclusive but the quality really was lacking. we definitely will go back to resort stays that are not required all inclusive. Below are some pros and cons for us during our stay. Pros: Rooms were very nice, spacious (we had a 2 bedroom) and the maid service we really good. wonderful views from balconies Great beach area Beautiful pools Staff were very attentive Covid sanitation was spot on. They did a great job! They have sailboats to use which was enjoyable Mexican theme night was pretty good Cons: Slow food and drink service. For all inclusive way too many sur charges and not enough restaurants to choose from.. the food for us was usually below average (expect the steak house at Royal Islander.. but then again entire meal was a surcharge since they only had like 5 items on menu that were not!) Having to use the shuttle to go to sister properties to eat was a pain, the shuttle schedule was not always convenient to reservation times. we choose to take the city bus a few times. if this resort plans to offer all inclusive they need to make it better. Buffet food was just average, Captain Cove was horrible food a service. Hacienda Sisal was good but not great. Drinks are super super weak Overall, it is a nice resort. The all inclusive part and lack of quality with it is what turned us off to some of our stay..

Great time at this resort. Beautiful beaches, great food, location, and wonderful staff. Our lifeguard Leocadio Jimenez Nazario (LEO)was the best! He kept us safe and always helped with the Ocean report. We can’t wait to come back! Brett Galambos and Joyce Tomlinson

I arrived at the Royal Sands resort after a very long trip, exhausted and was excited and happy to arrive. The guy at the gate asked for my reservation number, which in that moment I was not able to find (Luggage, Backpack, Phone...). I gave him my name but he didn't believe me that I'm a guest. So I told him that the reception should be informed about my arriving. After 2 more calls he finally let me in and I walked the way up to the reception (nobody even asked if I need help, but ok.). The guy at the reception desk took my passport, blocked the deposit of 300€ on my credit card, let me fill out all type of papers and said that my voucher is not be accepted because I presented it as a Screenshot. Even if all the information was the same passport name voucher reservation ecc. he said that's not the original. So I had to leave the tesk and was trying to find the original reservation papers in my email. Then the guy came back and told me he found an alternative room. I was supposed to have a Junior Suit for 7 days but got offered one with room change on Saturday. I didn't want that and so I got an alternative room. I went upstairs and got in the room and realized immediately, thats not what i booked. I booked a front beach view room at a german travel agency. I went back to the reception telling I'm not satisfied with the room, that I booked something else. Nobody was willing to solve this issue, they didn't even let me talk to the manager and didn't let me cancel the booking. So I had no other way than going back to my room. I started crying because of how I got treated. Zero friendly, everything very cold and I felt like a criminal, at the gate and second time at the reception. The room has a side beach view, stopped up sink, old/used water bottle in the fridge which fortunately I realized before drinking out of it because I saw the bottle was just half full. Theres no plugs in the bedroom/close to the bed and I'm just not satisfied for the huge amount of money I paid. But the worse thing is the rude and direspectful attitude towards me. Nobody speeks my language (german, italian), I'm a young solo traveller, very simple and humble, an get treated like a criminal because I don't carry the oroginal paper with me. There's nobody who explained me anything (beach towels? restaurants? ec..)! It's such a maze and very difficult to get help. It's overwhelming if you get here the first time. The fact that nobody took care of me, that nobody took me serious only because I look different than the other guests here, or maybe because I'm not American or not Mexican, that nobody tried to find a solution to solve this problem is very disappointing. The room reminds me more of a 3 Star hotel....

I highly recommend The Royal Sands Cancun. The resort is very nice and clean along with the staff being amazing. From check in to check out my family and I had a great time. We really enjoyed the beach and the pool and all of the food & beverage staff. Pedro and Angel did an awesome job at the pool bar and all of our servers at La Veranda, Mario, Victor, Pablo, Felix, Fernando all were amazing. I definitely will be staying there again in the near future. A big thank you to everyone at The Royal Sands for making our vacation awesome! Brent and Maria PS-Don’t forget to tip your bartenders and servers, they work very hard and definitely deserve it!
