My wife and I stayed at this hotel because we were looking for a smaller scale resort, which would mean less people, & when we booked we didn't know what would be happening with Covid. Upon arrival they were doing a little bit of construction so the check in process left a little to be desired. The room was available early, which we were happy about. The room was clean, the view was great, it was like our room was on top of the ocean. Only room negative was they say MiniBar, but its just a fridge with a couple of sodas. No alcohol, which I think they should add, or don't say minibar in description. It has 4 restaurants, 3 are regular dining & the other is a buffet style. We did not do the buffet one, but the other two Hakka & Almar were nice. The food was very good actually, which in these types of resorts can be hit or miss. We enjoyed all of our meals at both of those restaurants. The other is a small sushi place, not too many options but good. The pool is too small. It needs to be bigger, especially as it seemed people could buy a day pass to hang out at the pool even if they were not staying at the resort. The pool/ocean area has staff keeping the drinks coming & the lunch from El Botanero was great (wings, chips, tacos, quesadillas, all were very good). The decking by the pool needs to be redone, it had some good wear & tear. Overall this place is not your grandiose Cancun resort, but it's not trying to be either. In my opinion, they are a great 4 star hotel, they won't hit the 5 star. The staff made our stay here great. Everyone is very nice, attentive & make you feel welcome. I credit the staff on making this place fun & keeping the guests happy. At Hakka our waiter Crispin was amazing, we had him 2 nights and we loved him. At Almar on our last night our waiter Carlos Cen was also amazing. Very nice, made a surprise dessert with a have a nice trip message on it. When I was undecided on 2 things from the menu, he had the chef put them together and made an excellent dish. I was impressed with the food here, credit the chef, who did come out and introduce himself. Overall, For the affordability, we couldn't expect much more.

The hotel is showing its age, the TV does not support apple airplay, the quality of the channels is terrible, no netflix/disney+/hulu. The food lacks flavor, lacks salt, dessert is meh, sushi is meh. Would I stay again? No, I would not, the front lobby people are very nice and helpful. The restaurant staff takes too long to serve you, the beach location is good.

Very convenient location, friendly staff, nice restaurants. We met there the best bartender ever. His name is Miguel- makes great drinks and cocktails! We liked Almar restaurant the best. They have very good food and variety to choose from, kind staff, especially chef(didn't catch his name) and waitress Yazuli

From the photos I was extremely excited about this trip. It was ok that their staff wanted 2 separate tips before I checked in. The staff is rude and non-accommodating. Horrible service. Staff is NOT trained in customer service. The penthouse they promised us was a train wreck to say the least. The front desk staff sells us a daily all inclusive day pass but they demanded our signature match the license signature or they would not sell it. If the credit card and Id match: what’s the problem. Sounds crazy right? The pics on line and the actual penthouse was a fraud. It’s dirty, outdated and falling apart. I’ve been to several resorts in and around Cancun and this is the WORST.

Room Tip: Avoid OLEO resort. Rock filled beach. Overpriced food passes. Warm beers. Old rusty...
