I would say I really liked this resort. Wether due to Ovid, which I suspect there is no evening entertainment. The beach is beautiful, there are always chairs, the restaurant has good family style food, toning gourmet but pleasing to the palette. The rooms are lovely and very clean. It is a long walk to any other rest in either Cancun or on the hotel strip 5/6 km either way but taxis are plentiful. What I liked was that the resort was small a 2 minute walk from your room to the beach and along the way the stay make a point to greet you. I loved the staff at this resort.

All of the hotel staff was amazing especially Ricardo the bartender. I would definitely stay at this resort again for the service and food alone. The first room we received was run down and outdated, I believe it was one of the Vacation Club rooms but the front desk offered an upgrade to a better room which was updated and nicer. The only thing that was a negative had nothing to do with the hotel itself was the hire pressure sales men from the Vacation Club dealing with businesses like that on a vacation can really tarnish your trip AVOID at all costs.

I’ve stayed here for years and it cannot be beat. Great established helpful staff, most are bilingual. It is easy to ask questions, gets help or suggestions. Many other places I have tried have staff just filling a role. Today is the last day of 3 weeks here. It’s more like an awesome condo with a kitchenette or full kitchen. All have large rooms, balconies and ocean views. The beach is one of the best, water is easily swimmable, calm and has a large beach area. There are activities for all ages if interested. The staff and prices for food/beverage service on the beach is very reasonable. I actually stayed last year a week at NYX and they didn’t have enough loungers so people set their alarms to claim chairs at 5 am. I complained to manager but the corporate office hadn’t responded. I’m saying this because here they figure it out so you have a nice vacation. That is so important to have a tranquil vacation.

I stayed here with my son and overall, I was pleased but this hotel is not for everyone. I will start with the good. All employees and 99% of the guests were wearing masks, even outside. The food was really good. We ate in the restaurant, the pizza area outside and ordered room service several times. Food was always hot and on time. All the employees were nice and friendly. The small refrigerator in the room kept our drinks cold. There was also a coffee maker and microwave. We had the smallest room (2 double beds) but I was surprised to find a balcony with a great view of the ocean. We were in room 1408. There was no loud music, etc at the pool, which I really appreciated. Our room had a room between the bedroom and bathroom that had a long bench and the closet area. This was very useful for keeping luggage accessible and changing clothes. Beds were fairly comfortable. Now the not so good. The room never really got cold. The air ran the entire time but never really cooled. There is no ceiling fan, as this would have helped. There are VERY few channels with English. We had 2 news stations and 2 sports stations. That is it. I scrolled through every channel. The shower head was mounted so low that I had to bend down to wash my hair (I am 5’4”). I am concerned that the room as not cleaned adequately. I found another guest’s sock near the sliding glass door and although we never went to the beach, there was sand on the floor. I would say that if you are going to spend all your time outside the room, like we did, this is a great choice for you. The beach area looks to be one of the best, with lots of chairs. The pool is quite small, so I wouldn’t plan to spend a ton of time there. I do highly recommend the 360 SUP tour across the street (caddy-corner). It is fantastic and they have kayak options too.

:After reading so many negative reviews and getting emails before arriving that the pool and tennis court were closed. We were nervous that we would not like the hotel. When I arrived 9:30pm and they could not find my reservation although it was booked a month in advance and I had email proof I was super nervous. They then put a hold on my credit card for the amount and I was NOT happy. We asked for a room with a view and received one. At that point they also told us there is construction happening outside our room but we should not hear it. We did not hear the construction and loved our room.  We had to get them to come and change the battery in the safe and fix one on the six stilts on my bed that had fallen. Daily stretching on the beach was amazing. You can get coconut from local vendors there for 50 pesos. activities were interesting and we were able to change currency and book excursions on site.  You can see the wear in the building in the day time but not enough to take away from the experience. COVID precautions We booked two excursions through the hotel and inquired about Capacity. We were told that the tour bus would be at 50% . There were only two empty seats on the bus. We did the catamaran to isla mujeres and they did not do the Spinnaker neither did they apologize about it even though it was promised and food was bad. We went with really low expectations so it turned out better than we expected. There are a few areas to improve on though. Buses are easy to get from the hotel and I found a great restaurant el fish fritanga that even delivers. You just pay for the foil pan and tip the delivery person. You will need to wait out front by the lobby for them. Ask the concierge for the restaurant referral and they help you get freebies at those restaurants. One of those restaurants was Mextreme so we received free appetizers and the supermarket was across the street in case you wanted to buy snacks and beverages. Taxi back to the hotel is US$10. We did not eat on site as we read the food was bad. We brought oatmeal and a kettle for breakfast since we had a hotel room not a suite. We also thought we would not have a refrigerator but we did. My friend had a birthday, we asked them to decorate and they did. She was so surprised and happy
