I decided to split my time between two hotels and chose Hyatt vivid grand island as it was adults only, new and modern. The location to the lagoon side with a shuttle service to the beach club was beautiful, views from the roof top are spectacular and the infinity pool with a bar is a nice touch.
A few things that can improve - Standard of cleaning could have been a little better as I saw dirt in the corners of the bathroom but towels and sheets were clean. I could also hear the room next door’s alarm go off in the morning and music playing at night so the walls are paper thin. Also heard every door opening and closing with people talking in the corridor at all times of night. Since it’s a new build, you’d have expected there to be better sound proofing. Maybe bring ear plugs unless you plan to be out to party the night away in which case you will be fine. Another hiccup was breakfast service, it doesn’t really open at 7am as advertised (jet lag had me up and in the gym at 6am) and service for drinks was hit and miss on all the days. I was also told they had no tea one day (one of the two days I actually managed to try and order a drink). Room service is only until 11pm which seems early to close as normally it’s 24/7. Other than that, everything else was superb.
Service at the pool bars is very attentive, dinner reservations easy to make on the app. I the Mexican, Japanese and Italian and only the Italian was a bit of let down on starter and dessert. The ceviche stand for lunch is tasty! I was at the beach club for a few days. The beach club food was tasty! The beach club itself is tiered levels with sunloungers so it’s a bit cozy and close, the service there is also great and the location is very instagrammable at the restaurant level. I’m not a massive drinker so won’t comment much on the alcohol choices anywhere. I also didn’t go to Cancun to party but prepare for some very merry day drinkers towards the end of day. It was mixed age brackets but definitely heavy on couples over friend groups when I stayed.
They are building the adjoining hotel but from what I could tell there wasn’t much construction noise so not sure when it will commence fully. Probably wouldn’t go back but only because I am a beach lover and would prefer the beach on my door step over the shuttle service to a beach club. If the beach club was bigger and not so compact with the sunloungers I might feel differently.

The Pension itself is beautiful, the view is breathtaking no matter where you are, the service staff is very courteous and smiling and the facilities are very comfortable.
We knew that the Inn is running in and lived well with that fact. What makes us very bitter about our experience besides the little worries here and there is the fact that the manager of Club Vantage is not in any way accommodating.
It started with a major water and air conditioning failure throughout the Pension. No more showers, a few toilets operated only in the lobby or on the other floor where the restaurants are located. After all this mishap, which lasted more than 36 hours, a large number of tourists were relocated to the Breathless Inn at their request. For us, it was not a good option so they offered us as compensation for Hyatt points. We decided to stay and wish everything would come back in order. Everything went into order several hours after their offer.
The problem is that, given the situation, a lot of tourists had left the Pension, which left it deserted. Consequently, less catering service due to the small number of tourists who had decided to stay. No atmosphere, desert... The worst part is the fact that there are fewer restaurants open for supper. The food is very good but the menus are limited so we go around quickly. We asked the Vantage Club Manager to relocate us for the last 2 nights to another Hyatt near ours and Daniel the Vantage Club Manager, was completely airtight at our request and seemingly uncooperative unfortunately. If we wanted to change Pension, 1900 US$ would be charged to Air Canada Vacations to leave their Pension... Our Rep to Air CDA could have helped us but without a written confirmation that there would be no charge to leave early, it became impossible for him to make us a Reservation Award at a discount, so we got stuck in the Vivid. I did not believe my eyes, for a Pension where they would really have an interest in accommodating their customers in order to establish themselves well in the competition, they preferred to put obstacles in the wheels when we wanted to transfer to the same chain...
I thank all the service staff who did everything possible to make us happy. In particular, Yeni at the à la carte restaurants which is adorable. Emilia from Vantage was very kind. The staff at the Roof top pool were very friendly and funny. I forget but they were all very kind and courteous.
Hyatt, an international chain, should really review their accommodation policy for their customers.

Well, we have a lot to say about this resort. We booked through this resort from the loco travel agent in Cancun with the opening price, it was reasonable for a brand new resort. The hotel service was amazing, all the staffs are very polite and friendly. But I would like to leave some honest reviews.
First from positive reviews. We knew this resort was just opened at the begging of April 2024, so everything was so new and clean. Especially all the pools and the beach house were so nice and staffs were well trained. There seemed enough chairs and tables at any public places for just hung out with families and friends for now, sometimes we can't find those places in Cancun hotels.
Sadly I will have to leave some negative reviews as well. Frist, They didn't have a room that we looked! We booked vantage club golf and ocean view double. But they assigned us in the lagoon view with a king bed with an extra bed on the 9th floor(they said they upgraded though).
They explained us they were 80% full of capacities at that time so there is no other choices, anyways we went to see the room that they assigned. Of course we didn't like the lagoon view, We knew since this resort was built on the lagoon side of hotel zone so all the pools are on lagoon side. So we went back to the vantage club front desk, they told us they don't have a double bed room first but they actually had one room with double beds with golf and ocean view on the 6th floor. I believe it wasn't the vantage club status level. But we had to take this room, because they kept telling us there is no other options for us. A few days later, we heard it was the hotel reservation's assign mistake about our room or something. They didn't assigned what we asked and paid for. When we checked out, they asked us 'how would you like to pay?' Like we paid through loco travel agent first, additionally they couldn't even find our reservation through reservation number!!!!! Secondly, there was only half of the restaurants were opened at that time(April 19th), no Japanese, no Mexican, and no French restaurants. According to their home page, there is no infos about it, they need to put the infos. Finally, we didn't have a balcony table in our room. We saw some rooms even didn't have some chairs! Also we were worry about space of poolside and beach house when they fully open with Secrets, if I have a chance to stay there again, I will ask a bunch of questions about they are really ready to be fully open with full capacities. Its very questionings.

I came here tothis nursing house to celebrate my birthday and it was a nightmare
The resort is nothing like advertised first, still under construction water dripping all over the place in restaurant hallway ventage club, constant noise.
Food no options and blow average nothing taste good and portions are too small, and be ready for a long wait to get the food min 1h, they say no reservation then it's required and even with reservation you have to wait keep in mind when I was there the resort was about 30% to 40% capacity. Buffet only in the morning we felt always hungry because either nothing taste good or no potions.
We booked vantage club room but yet everyone can use vantage club bar and there is nothing special about paying extra
You dont get nothing of whats advertised.
The messed up situation they put me in is there cleaning stuff when over my stuff and stole money from the bag I did report it.
They took 3 days to get back to me and told me the person denied it obviously I asked a different person to clean the room they told me put do not disturb and wait for them in the room till they clean it to make sure they don't steal your belongings.
What a solution I had to take pictures of before I leave to check because I can't take my stuff or but them all in the safe every time I leave the room.
They literally didn't do anything expt late checkout.
The beach club is nice but you need transportation and if it gets busy good luck going there and food is horrible there As well.
Try to book room service for breakfast it ends at 11am I'm trying at 9:30 it's not working call reception they don't answer.
I can go all day complaining the resort is a mess activities suck no sport bar not alive for adults only it's a nursing house.
Don't come here don't waste your money hotelzone have better options.
There are few groups on Facebook don't believe anything they say there bunch of people with no experience and some work for the hotel they will tell you it's the best place in the planet.
Don't be scammed stay away from this place.

Hola Journey01107507055, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this platform. We are deeply sorry to read about your experience at our resort. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we regret that we did not meet your expectations during your stay. There seems to have been a number of deficiencies encountered which are very atypical and not reflective of our brand experience; if this stay was marred by irregular circumstances, we can only renew our apologies and assure you that we have in the meantime briefed the team at great length of your comments. We also want to mention that our neighboring hotel is still under construction; however, please note that this is an external area from our resort. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and want to assure you that your comments have been taken seriously and shared with our team. As a result of your feedback, we conducted a thorough investigation. We reviewed your report regarding the situation with your belongings and noted that you mentioned experiencing similar issues in previous days but did not report them initially. Additionally, the quantities you reported varied across different reports, leading to inconsistencies. According to our security protocol, a member of our security team needed to assist you in inspecting the room, but you declined this part of the process. We also inquired whether you had used the safe in your room, and you indicated that you had not. We strongly advise using the in-room safe, as the hotel cannot be held responsible for items not stored there. We appreciate your understanding in this matter and sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope our response helps restore your trust in us, and we look forward to earning back your preference. If we have the opportunity of hosting you again, please contact us directly to take care of your vacation. Best regards,

We stayed 5 days (Thursday -Tuesday) for our wedding anniversary. We arrived 12pm and we're able to check into our room around 3:30 but not before being presented with an opportunity to gain additional resort coupons to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch at a sister property. We had a suite that was very spacious and overall nice. The bed was really hard and the A/C was out from Friday through Sunday. The app to order room service, view activities, and make restaurant reservations intermittently worked. Sometimes we were unable to order room service and it would reference restaurants being opened but they were actually closed. The food from the taco truck, beach club, and room service was the best. The speciality restaurants were subpar. They didn't have a great deal of menu options. We booked the Vantage Club for our stay to receive special breakfast and access to a bar/lounge with premium liquor. It appeared everyone had a access to the Advantage Club from Thursday -Sunday based on unrestricted access and some comments made by individuals inside not being aware of "the hideout bar with premium liquor". We received a message on Sunday via the app to come by the Advantage Club to have our room key card updated to gain continual access to the lounge. The beach club is very small. Housekeeping services begin very early approximately 7am . The hallways are very hollow so noise travels loudly which interrupted our sleep. Stick to basic cocktails. Bartenders are bartenders not mixologist. Limited options at breakfast buffet.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the experience I experienced during my recent stay at your hotel, from [20/07/2024 check-in] to [22/07/2024 check-out]. I now detail the incidents that occurred and which I consider unacceptable to an establishment in its category.
First, the treatment received by the manager, Ms. Fernanda Reyes, was extremely unpleasant. His unfriendly and abusive attitude not only made me feel uncomfortable, but also demonstrated a lack of professionalism and courtesy towards guests. I don’t understand how a hotel can have an employee on its staff who, instead of resolving customer concerns, makes the situation worse.
In addition, the hotel has very few restaurants, which considerably limits the dining options for guests. Although the building is modern and cute, the experience is severely affected by poor staff service.
The most serious incident occurred during our Check-out. Due to a problem with the water supply, my family and I could not bathe or even brush our teeth before leaving. We were asked to leave the room without offering any solution or apology for the inconvenience caused. This level of inconsideration and customer care is unacceptable and left us deeply outraged.
It is incomprehensible how a hotel of the magnitude of yours can run out of water and, worse, how reception staff can handle the situation so insensitively, requesting us to leave the room without having solved the problem.
I also expect adequate compensation for the inconvenience and mistreatment received.

Spent 3 nights. Unless I had off site things to do, I think 3 would be my limit here. This is a place to relax, minimal casual entertainment and no late options.
If you like early or late swims to avoid the hottest part of the day, this is not for you. Pools are open only during hottest part of the day. Drinks are great, staff is wonderful, the entertainment they do have isn't bad- just not my flow. Gastrobotany, bracelet making, water aerobics, vendor shopping experience. Not a play when u want, sleep when you're tired eat when you're hungry kind of place- the schedule of things makes you need a schedule. 2 couples we spoke with were turned away for dinner options and had fruit coffee and gift shop chips. We were thankful to get dinner tables when we needed. Reservations aren't required but encouraged however the app didn't allow us to make a reservation. They have some kinks to work out in finishing touches. Some app times for events or facilities were incorrect. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily but did not restock any perishable items used- i.e. coffee, sugar, cream, water, beer, wine, soda. We restocked our water from the fitness area supply. We did have to make a maintenance request during our stay, which was easy with app. Absolutely LOVED our room location- vantage club corner suite 10th floor bay and ocean view. We unfortunately also had a security concern we had to report and are working with the resort and our supplier regarding that instance. If you like to bake, relax and enjoy eclectic menu items with a view- this is IT!
We have NO WATER currently! Water issues began yesterday with water temperature changing in cycles to very cold to scalding hot! It took a very long time to finish a shower without being burned.
The hotel staff said a water reset would happen overnight.
Woke up to NO WATER- no toilets and no sinks. Not even sure how it should be open at this point.
We upgraded to Vantage Club which has totally been a waste of money. Our concierge when asked to make a reservation for us for dinner simply told us to use the app instead. We are 4 couples total and our guys wanted to play golf and asked to make a reservation but they said they called but never got them a tee time until late afternoon.
The staff have been amazing but no water all morning and it is now 1:15 pm.
I will write another review when we leave tomorrow because some of the staff have been outstanding but this facility issue is HUGE, especially when one couple has been “sick” and flushing the toilet is not possible.

We booked a Vantage Club room for April 30 - May 8th. We set our expectations accordingly since it was newly opened, however, our low expectations were not met. The resort was not ready (lots of construction), restaurants/bars not open & Vantage Club amenities were non-existent. I actually made inquiries asking if all vantage club amenities would be available and if all restaurants/bars would be open upon our arrival. I was informed everything was available and open. This was a LIE. We arrived on the 30th and checked out the next day, May 1st.
On the day of arrival only pool bars were available. There were no outdoor bar/lounge/restaurants areas open.
Most of the restaurants/bars were not available.
Rooms were nice but again nothing special about Club rooms.
Gym is very small.
Club member bar was at the back of the checkin area - very small
Club member breakfast at Mediterranean restaurant not open. Construction was still ongoing, so the restaurant was not open at all.
Note it is a no smoking resort, DH was escorted by security to the side of the resort near the entrance driveway. (Even though there were vast outdoor areas with no one around.) we were told this was an environmental issue, but plastic bottles were Okay .
Anyway we were allowed to checkout the next day with the assurance by the Vantage Club team/mgmt that we would receive a refund within 10 days for the days not stayed. It has been over 60 days and we still have not received our refund of over $3000. We have learned our lesson and will never book a resort that is newly open, especially if it is associated with Hyatt.

Hola Ella, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. We apologize for the atypical deficiencies you encountered; this does not reflect our usual brand experience. If your stay was marred by irregular circumstances, please accept our sincere apologies. Rest assured, we have thoroughly briefed our team on your comments. We also want to mention that our neighboring hotel is still under construction, which we understand may have been disruptive. Please know it is separate from our resort, and we are continuously working to minimize any impact on our guests. Additionally, our resort is smoke-free with a designated area for guests who smoke, ensuring comfort for everyone. Regarding your refund, we apologize for the delay. We have processed it on our end and recommend checking with your bank for the status. Your patience is greatly appreciated. First Jet Blue cancelled my flight I lost a whole day of hotel stay cool it’s not the hotels fault I just wished they did a better job helping me with price for an additional day knowing I had already paid for 5 nights stay instead they wanted me to pay full price. $600 down the drain.
Paying for vintage club is a joke they don’t give you any bracelets to even know who paid a premium. Only 1 bar has premium drinks and that’s located inside the check in lobby so if you’re in the pool wet good luck going in there to get a drink.
Beach club process sucks having to wait to get transported and hoping they still have vacant seats is stressful. The place is small but indeed beautiful you do have to climb at least 5 flights of stairs to go onto the beach and once wet having to go up flight of stairs is uncomfortable. Some steps are bags of sands seems like a big tripping hazard.
Dinner choices are limited not all restaurants open they seem to rotate them. I wish they had a steakhouse but they don’t. Food was definitely good can’t complain on that.
Pool after 2pm there is no type of shade to hide under so if you’re all about getting fried like a chicken this place is definitely for you.
Entertainment team was ok you can tell they lack experience and pretty much run the same activities every day.
Ceviche bar is a 10/10 if I ever come back which I doubt lol it would be to just to eat there.
Service in the pool 10/10
We had the master suite 10/10
Breakfast 10/10 Jen was our waiter she was awesome!!
Small resort which I really liked. Definitely not the best resort but not the worst I would say it’s in between they should charge way less for not having beach access.

Hyatt Inclusive Collections. You will be able to check out menus and activities before you go.
None were heated when we were there in October
The beach club is free and available for all guests staying at the hotel. Food and drinks are free. They have shuttle service that runs every 15 mins to/from the hotel and beach club and it's a short ride. You'll always be able to get back and not have to wait long.
