Great experience. As soon as we arrived to our room, we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. This greeting was a nice beginning to our 25th Anniversary celebration. Weather was great the whole time. Jose our concierge was very helpful during our stay. Most of the restaurants were pretty good. Favorites, Flora, Sante and Blue Agave. The buffet wasn't bad.

Hotel's Favourite
Paradisus Cancun This resort was spectacular. Our room was the Reserve Ocean View suite. Upon arrival we were directed to the Reserve area, which was in building 5. The Reserve check in was absolutely stunning. The relaxing music, the subtle smells of vanilla and lavender, the pools of running water, the hanging vines, the lanterns, all just a sensory delight. Check in took just a few minutes and we were escorted to our room by our concierge Jose. Jose made our dinner reservations for the week and said if we needed anything to let him know. Our room was just mere feet from the all day charcuterie board and bar. Julio made the perfect drinks. In the morning, there was a variety of fruits and breakfast snacks along with a coffee bar, juices and morning beverages, yes you could get a Mimosa or Bloody Mary. In the afternoon, this area has drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as meats, cheeses, warm snacks and desserts. Room Our room was perfect for us. Upon entering, the bathroom was on the left. The bathroom had a single sink with hand soap and lotion, as well as a few other boxed amenities, which we never opened. To the left of the sink was the water closet, to the right of the sink was what can only be described as a shower room. The shower room included the large soaking tub and the rainfall shower. The shower had excellent water pressure, one of the best showers we have experienced at any resort. The shower room was all glass, separated by a somewhat sheer curtain, perfect for the ocean views and sunlight, but not perfect for privacy. The shower included Biology shampoo, condition and shower gel. To the right across from the bathroom was the closet that included a safe, ironing board and umbrella. The closet had a light that doubled as a night light to the bathroom when the room was dark. The room had a king sized bed that was a bit hard on my back, but a mattress topper was added, and it was very helpful. The room had a sitting area near the balcony as well as a table with 2 chairs. It was sparsely decorated, but comfortable. The morning sunrise with ocean views was incredible beyond words. Restaurants When staying in the Reserve area you have access to Sante. This is where we ate upon arrival. Sante turned out to be our favorite place for breakfast and lunch. The food was fantastic and had the perfect ocean views. The staff at Sante was very attentive and made sure we didn’t need a thing. Sante is located right by the adult-only reserve pool. The restaurants we’re beautiful. They all had a different decor that was reflective of the menu and style of cuisine. There were many options that could accommodate a variety of tastes. That said, while the service and menu options were always excellent, the execution of the meal itself was somewhat anticlimactic given the beauty and attention that surrounded you. The food wasn’t bad, but it just seemed to be less elevated than all the other sensory queues. When staying in the Reserve area, you had a one time access to Sal’s Steak house (this restaurant is an extra charge if not staying in the reserve). Like Sante, Sal’s was excellent, the quality and creativity of the food were elevated compared to the other restaurants. We also had the opportunity to dine at Ceilo, Aqua Marina, Lemon Fish and Cappella. There were 2 mornings we opted for Malva, the breakfast buffet. However, once we discovered Sante had breakfast, we never went back to the buffet. Sante was just superior. One “must”, is the Kanna Beach Club (food at this location is an extra charge). Upon entering there is a small bar with swings and multiple seating areas. We discovered this small, out of the way spot while exploring the resort after dinner on a warm evening. The location is nestled into the side of the hotel facing the shore with about a 10 to 15 foot drop to the sand. It’s almost like a deck built on the side of a cliff overlooking the ocean. The surroundings are very casual, we sat on a couch near a coffee table facing the ocean. That in itself was great, but the way the location as designed meant that there was very little light from the adjacent facilities, meaning the view of the stars was absolutely breathtaking. They seemed so close, and we just sat listening to the waves and marveling at the heavens. Words fail to describe the experience. Off Resort Dinner One of the great things about Mexico, and Cancun in particular, are all the off-resort options for excursions, dining and shopping. We always felt completely secure and didn’t feel the need to take any extra precautions beyond what we would normally do with a trip downtown in our home town. During this vacation we decided to explore dining options outside of the hotel. Our concierge helped us decide which options fit our taste and even made reservations for us at two nearby eateries, The Crab House and RosaNegra. Both of these were only a short walk from the resort so we didn’t need transportation. The Crab House was very good, specializing in seafood fare that went well beyond what you might normally expect in the US. It’s a bit pricey, but worth the extra money to dine on high quality ingredients while watching the sunset over the lagoon. Our second dining experience was really one of exploration and surprise. We arrived at RosaNegra and were escorted through a very busy restaurant by an army of young, chic attendants. Sitting at our table, we found it difficult to talk due to the surrounding noise. Some may like that kind of bustling environment, but we prefer something a little more subdued and less busy. For us, this just wasn’t the place, so we politely told our waiter that we were going to go find something a little less energetic. The next thing we knew, the manager arrived at our table, explaining that there were other dining options that would be a better fit just a short walk from where we were. She offered to take us. We were off! Instead of walking us back out of the restaurant, she escorted us to a boardwalk on the bay that led to an Italian restaurant called Parole. Apparently there are five different venues all connected and owned by the same company. Shocked at the beautifully lit paradise in the distance, we were completely intrigued by what lay ahead. We were warmly greeted and found a great table overlooking the lagoon. The menu was huge and included some really creative Italian favorites as well as some really nice wine options. I could go on about this experience but it was just what we were looking for. In short, the Wagu meatball is huge and excellent as were all the courses we enjoyed. Additionally, Parole had some fantastic entertainment that included an electric violinist and a painter. Yes, a painter (I won’t spoil the surprise.) I would highly recommend either of these as a great addition to the on-resort amenities. Evening Entertainment To be honest after dinner most evenings, we loved looking at the stars from the seating area at the Kanna Beach club. We did spend one evening at the Ginger bar. It had a band that played 80s music and were very good. However after long days in the sun, we were tired and ready to sleep by 2300. Spa One afternoon we spent at the spa. Left our phones in the room safe, (Believe it or not, lol). Upon arrival to the spa my husband and I were each escorted to the male/female dressing areas. Once undressed, we were given a robe and taken to the hydrotherapy area. Each dressing area had access to a steam room and dry sauna. After about 10 minutes, we were brought to a cool water shower area with a variety of water jets. We were lead to the hydrotherapy pool. It’s a cool water pool with various jets and sprays to relax your muscles. It was wonderful. Once you completed your time in the pool, you were offered water or green tea and had a few minutes to lounge on a couch before moving to the massage area. On our way to the massage area, we were escorted back through the dressing room and out into a public hallway area in our robes. This was a bit unnerving and did take away from the newly induced relaxation. The massage, for me, was a bit disappointing. The face pillows were very firm and I ended up with a headache by the time the massage completed. I was also disappointed because the therapist asked what area to focus on, which for me was neck, scalp and shoulders. Unfortunately, the therapist failed to really attend to those spots, spending most of the time on my legs and back. My husband also felt the face pillow was firm, but he managed to find a comfortable spot. His massage was focused on the lower back, and seemed better than mine. Overall it was a disappointing experience for me. Marching through a common hallway, pressed into a concrete face pillow and misaligned massage left it difficult to find a benefit from the therapy. Pool The adult reserve pool was nothing short of perfect. It was heated and always seemed just the right temperature. Surrounding the pool were Bali beds, complete with additional loungers for those times you wanted extra sun. Reserve guests are guaranteed a Bali bed for 2 days of your stay. Additional Bali bed access is granted via requesting placement on a waiting list. You may or may not get one depending on availability. We were lucky enough to have one every day of our stay. Go to the towel hut to coordinate Bali bed access. Jennifer and Nicole managed that amenity and were excellent, handling our requests and setting up our pool side oasis. Food and drink service is also available right from the bed. Valeria and Oscar were our pool-side concierges and they brought us drinks and food throughout out the day. They made sure we had an ice bucket filled with bottled water and seemed to effortlessly insure that anything you might need was already at your disposal. The food came from Sante so it was always excellent. One day we asked for a Bali bed over looking the ocean, this was not ideal as it was windy and a bit cold. The next day we chose to go back to our pool view Bali bed. The pool was perfect for floating on a raft and getting some sun. Special thanks to Nicole, Jennifer, Valeria and Oscar, they made sure we were comfortable, well fed and well hydrated! Beach Standing in surf up to my waist, i could see my feet resting on the white sand. The water was clear and magnificent. The waves were active and a bit rough for some, but I found it wonderful - an almost spiritual experience of the power, majesty and beauty of nature. The sand between the resort and edge of the water was not very long and the drop off to the ocean was steep. The sand was clean and soft, except for the occasional tuft of seaweed. Our daily routine included getting up and going to the coffee bar just outside of our room. We would have our coffee and watch the sunrise from our balcony. Then we would get dressed in our swim suits/coverup and go the Sante for a leisurely breakfast. After that we would make our way to the towel hut to talk with Jennifer or Nicole and find our Bali bed. We would alternate laying on a lounge chair for sun, swimming and then laying in our hut reading or napping. We also took random walks to the beach through out the day. Oscar and Valeria also made sure we didn’t skip any meals. We would return to our room in the afternoon, stopping at the Reserve charcuterie and bar before getting ready for dinner. After dinner we typically found our way out to Kanna beach club for drinks and stargazing. Overall this was resort speculator, from the sunrise views from our room, the food at Sante and the very attentive staff/concierge at the pool. Reserve is a must!

I’ve always loved the Paradisus, it’s the only all inclusive I’ve enjoyed and I’ve known it back when it was the Gran Meliá! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, I love how cozy and tranquil the resort vibe is, it feels almost like the jungle with all the greenery. You cannot beat the clear bluest water at this resort, it’s stunning to watch the ocean waves. The food options are great, everything was delicious. My only complaint and it is significant to me is they do not make their own tortilla chips and the guacamole tastes like it’s made in big batches- it would be nice to see some tomato in there too. The tortilla chips are store bought and not authentic. They also do not offer nachos!

The food was absolutely amazing, truly outstanding dining experience. It was also clear that they are very proud of their cuisine. Our waiter, Moises Morales, was very knowledgeable about the items on their menu and the significance they had in Mexican culture. We very much enjoyed our experience here!

We stayed at the Paradisus Cancun resort in April 2024. Overall, it was nice. I would give the resort a 7.5 - 8. It is an older resort in need of some updating and repair. The resort has 5 buildings. The restaurants, bars, lobby, guest services, etc. are all in building 3. It is a decent walk from building 1 or 5. If you walk inside, there are many random ramps and steps that can easily be missed if you’re not watching where you’re walking. For building one, there is only one elevator all the way at the far end of the building. The rooms were nice. We had an ocean view, and we were pleased to get the room and view that we paid for. Two things I did not like about the patio: the walls are high (front and sides) and if you’re sitting on the patio chair you cannot see much of anything. There was a big tub with jets on our patio (not what I would really call a jacuzzi) that was kind of tired looking - wasn’t inviting to sit in. Also, there’s a small step down when you walk out onto the patio that we missed more than a few times in the first days – and on the way in – ramming your toes into it. Just a weird design. (And no, we weren’t drinking.) The bed was comfortable. The pull-out couch was not too comfortable. Room was nice but plain as far as décor goes, save for the 3 pictures on the wall. The bathroom was nice. Toilet had a separate sliding door. The tub/shower was good. The bottom of the tub was kind of slippery, but water pressure was decent. They provide body soap, shampoo and conditioner in pumps on the wall of the shower. No exhaust fan. Food was pretty good for the most part. Had some stuff we didn’t like, and some stuff we loved. You can’t make reservations for most of the restaurants (5 not including the steak restaurant which is only for Reserve/adult guests, or you pay extra.) Capella was our favorite (Italian). The open-air restaurant (round building near the pizza and pool) was the nicest as far as the view and also totally open-air restaurant. You can get lunch and dinner at that one. Capella is only dinner. Lemon Fish was ok. We are sushi people and there was too much rice vs. fish for our liking. But the short rib tacos were amazing. The meat just melted in your mouth. And the “taco” was a little round slice of jicama. I could have eaten that every night. There are snack bars by the pool too. And you can order food from your pool beach chair or on the beach. The fish tacos were excellent as was the guacamole. The cheeseburgers were pretty good too. We sat at the beach under a palapa for all our days except one. Mitchel was fantastic and always stopped by to see if we needed a cocktail or food. Housekeeping was very good. They were random on the number of towels/washcloths they left us each day. We had three people in our room so most of the time we didn’t have enough. But one call to guest services and they promptly brought up more. Our mini fridge was restocked daily. Extra bottled water was no problem. We unknowingly brought up a lot of sand in our suits the first day at the beach. Housekeeping swept it all up the next morning. (Ocean was rough and the waves took you right down into the sand. The slope was steep as you entered the ocean.) My 17-year-old loved it! I prefer a calmer sea. There are no all-inclusive water sports. The ocean was too rough anyway to use a paddleboard, kayak, etc. Bathrooms around the resort were too few and far between for my liking. We went the week following Easter so, understandably, the resort was full. It was impossible to come down at a normal time (like 7am) and find chairs under a palapa or umbrella. All were already claimed with towels and personal belongings. My husband even went down at 5am one morning to try to get chairs and palapa poolside. No go. I think people slept there. They have lots of “beds” at the poolside. They could use to cut down on those and have more palapas and chairs. They charge for the beds, so maybe that’s why there are more of those? The pool was ok. I went in twice and that was enough for me. The sand on the bottom of the pool was extensive, even early in the morning. Water was kind of cloudy at times. Also, there were lots of floaters, like cups, limes, etc. I get that as the day goes on there would be more ‘garbage’ in the pool, but why at 9am? They could have done a better job on cleaning/vacuuming the pool. All the staff, from housekeeping to servers to lobby staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The security gentleman who greeted us at the doors and coordinated our luggage being sent to our room was super friendly! Check in was a little frustrating as we had to stand in a line for almost an hour until we could check-in. There were empty computers, but only 2 staff to check people in. They finally added a 3rd person to help, but by then the line had grown to double what it was when we got in line. They should have added more staff to check people in considering that Saturday is a big day for that, and it was spring break week. Guest services was very accommodating. I missed the window for confirming my return transportation. They asked who the company was and immediately got me connected to the correct person to confirm.

The service here was excellent. Everywhere we went, the servers were lovely and very attentive. Specifically Martin, Armando, Richy, and Ignacio in Malva. We saw them every morning for breakfast and they welcomed us with open arms. I highly recommend coming for the service alone. Additionally the food was 10/10. Will definitely be back! On our last day they set up a table for us with the cutest sign! They treated us like family. Excellent service.

We went on a busy week and there were lots of people. Try getting to the buffet for breakfast before 8:30. We found that it got chaotic after this time, if you want to avoid lines, go early. The food at the restaurants was good but service was a little slow at times. There are no reservations for dinner, it's a first come, first served, which makes for lines at 6pm. I think I'd rather have reservations and not hurry to be in line by 6pm to ensure a seat, unless you want to eat at the buffet. The beach is beautiful and the color of the water is amazing. Get up early if you want chairs by the pool. You have better chances of finding spots on the beach. There is a kids club. Which my kids loved. The workers are great at keeping the kids engaged and wanting to come back. The hrs are from 10am-9:45 pm. With 2 breaks, in at 2pm and the other at 5:45pm. I think the club is more for 9 year old and under. Although, my older one enjoyed some of their activities, too. It is a more relaxed environment, the entertainment team does a great job. I loved the dance lessons and live music. The nightly shows try so hard, I enjoyed all the ones I saw. Don't miss the Mayan blessing-one of my highlights. I had never experienced anything similar. Stay on the ocean side. We were on Pyramid 4 on lagoon side, and some nights we could hear the late night thumping of music from the nearby club. Also, there's no restrooms in the restaurants and they are also a long walk from the beach. Lastly, the best part of Paradisus Cancun was its workers. From the waiters to the cleaning lady, made the stay more enjoyable. The chef at Cielo, came by after I asked for chapulines and brought some and chicatanas to try. He also gave us a mini history. Great learning experience. The best and my most favorite part was celebrating my birthday at Kanna Beach club, Karina and Salvador, made my whole trip. They are so much fun, please go visit them! They would be the only reason that would make me come back to the same hotel.
