Think about everything you are looking for in a vacation and book Zilara. Hyatt Zilara meets a level of excellence that I had never experienced before. We will stay here again and again and again! We booked a very last minute stay in the King Swim-Up Suite. Our room was AMAZING! The comfortable bed, plentiful space, and a gorgeous view was supreme. The icing on the cake for the suite was access to a semi private pool that was HEATED!! Much warmer than the main pool. We had so much fun ending our days at the beach in our own pool. The food was so delicious! Great quality. Perfect portions. Asian was our favorite restaurant- we loved the ramen and sushi from the main dining room menu. Also, the coconut ice cream in the cafe was to die for!! We had a scoop every day! Evening entertainment was incredible!! If you do nothing else during your stay, you MUST SEE the Mayan Show!! We played bingo (with a fun twist!), made bracelets, and danced at the pool party. I felt there was a great balance of beach lazy and then something fun to do when you wanted it. By FAR the best aspect of Zilara is the staff and the uncomplicated level of impeccable service. Julio helped us book a scuba diving experience that was out of this world! He wasn’t lying when he said we would love it- WE DID!!! Julio taught us the basic safety class and gave clear instructions and directions to prepare for the dive the following day. We loved our chats with him and were happy to have met him. We hope to see you again, my friend!! Alexis was like the activities “leader”. He had great energy to really get people hyped about the different shows and activities. Zilara is really lucky to have someone so excited about their job that it gets the guests pumped for whatever is happening! Juan in entertainment helped us make bracelets. He was so kind and had a wonderful attitude. I’m telling you, this resort is full of amazing people! Gambeo and Ibamael were cocktail servers- you guys were wonderful! Thank you for being attentive and and great people! Gina worked in the lobby area assisting arriving guests. She was SO HELPFUL!! She escorted us to our room, explained all the features of our room, and details of the tablet and ordering room service. She was able to answer questions we had later in our stay and assisted us with a miscommunication about the liquor bottle that was included with our suite. Lydia, our housekeep, was so sweet and made sure our room was always tidy and we had everything we needed. Matel, our server at the Cantina restaurant, was GREAT! He had a great sense of humor and made our dinner experience so much fun!! I know there are names I’m forgetting, but please know that we are so grateful for people like you- wonderful hearts of genuine service that is so rare and so refreshing. Lastly, I wanted to mention the extensive COVID precautions that Zilara has established. We never once saw a staff member without a mask or a mask not properly worn. I’ve felt safer here than anywhere back home. The hotel is also operating at a reduced guest capacity. There was plenty of space at all times, no matter where we were, to safely distance from those around us. The pandemic sucks and we all can’t wait for it to be over. When visiting, please understand that the resort is doing everything possible to make your experience fun and safe. We overheard some people complaining about how “dead” it was. Zilara is making the best out of a terrible time in history. Right now, just go into knowing that the beach is GORGEOUS, the water is warm, the staff is incredible and the rooms are amazing. You will have a great time. Zilara is an extraordinary gem. We hope to see you again soon!!…
January 2021 seemed only different due to the precautions surrounding the Pandemic. Warranted, yet not a deterrent in any way. From the pool, to the shows, restaurants, amenities, but mostly the all important staff, we have never been disappointed! Nor will you........ The staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to assist in every way. Everyone from Jesus at Spice who made the best bloody mary for our breakfast, all of the the staff at the pool and all of the restaurants. They have two Welcome Ambassadors, Sabina and Fernanda and both were attentive, asked about anything that they could help or if anything was needed. The food was very good and the shows every night were perfect.....eat and go right to the show...what more can you ask for. The room was wonderful, great views, comfortable. And the pool was wonderful, with cabanas everywhere, chaise lounge in the water, swim up bar, hot tub, large pool so you are not on top of each other at all! We will come back! I came here for 6 days with my friend and had an amazing time. The staff was top notch. Food was good, really enjoyed dinner at Asiana. Tip... they take reservations for Hibachi but there normal dinning doesn't need to be reserved. I have some shout outs to the staff who made my trip awesome... My Pool Guys Miguel, Eduardo, Erasamo. The man in the coffee shop who remembered my order everyday. Many more I can't remember their names.
Gina made our trip special, she was so nice from the minute we got there until we were putting the bags in the van to go to the airport . Alex , Cecilia and Danyella were are volleyball rivals and made sure we had fun every day. Fabian made our dining experience feel like we were welcome and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we wanted. Juan kept us entertained with movie and music trivia . These people will be the reason we will be returning to the Zilara
