#38 of 387 Speciality lodging in Cancun
Hotel Santa Maria is the best kept secret in downtown Cancun and caters to savvy world travelers who are seeking a taste of the real Cancun - instread of an expensive generic resort. Staying in the city center means you can immerse yourself in the local culture, like a traveler - not a tourist. We are centrally located in downtown Cancun, just 5 minutes from the beach, and within walking distance of the famous Cancun Farmers Market "Mercado 23", and the central ADO bus terminal. Banks, hospitals, restaurants and bars are also nearby. Being downtown means you can live and spend like a local, instead of being a Hotel Zone tourist. We are committed to making your stay in Cancun memorable, and hope you become one of our many perennial guests who visit us year after year. We guarantee a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for you and your family!

The hotel was very cute, well maintained, but no a/c. Extremely fair price, no breakfast offered, but no coffee either. we were not completely disappointed. We went down the street to "NEZA" taquerias for delicious tacos!

We booked this place for 1 week but ran for our lives after our 1st night. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I ever tried to sleep in and was literally bowl shaped. They gave us sheets only after we asked for a top sheet. The shower was ice cold. The curtains do not fully cover the windows and there are bright hallway lights shining in. Light bulbs were missing. You get one towel for 2 people. The upholstery on the chair in our room looked like you would contract a disease if you sat on it. The room we were in looked nothing like the pictures. They do not provide a free breakfast as advertised but you can get scrambled eggs for 50 pesos. When we said we wanted to check out and get a refund, Gloria (a 5 year employee who said she could help us) said she would give us a better room but we would have to talk to the accountant for a refund. The accountant was supposed to be there several hours later. We came back, no accountant. Gloria could not help us. The owner, accountant, secretary and anyone else who might be able to help us could not be found. Not all accomodations are right for everyone. We booked here for an authentic downtown "centro" experience. We did not expect to pay for a week and get the worst one night stay of our fairly extensive travel life. I will remove / update this review if the owners will do the right thing and refund us for the 6 nights we did not stay there.

Went there in july and the people working there are just adorable , caring and helpful, they just want you to have the nicest trip ever and the hotel itself is super comfo, clean with nice facilities and cool decoration. The breakfast is really good, mexican cuisine and there is like a huge patio where you can chill. Basically you have the spirit of a home with the comfort of a hotel

I liked my stay, they have a lot of nice tours you can get by the reception. And the rooms are very good quality. The hotel is like open, so you can go outside youre room for a fresh breath. It is very nice to sleep here :)

i stayed at this hotel in 2016. very affordable. nice breakfast. simple but cute and clean. decided to repeat the experience. this time.. too shabby and not so cute. the staff is nice. i will say that. the hotel looks great from the outside but the rooms worn out and run down. stained furniture and moldy bathroom. horrible shower. the rooms do not look like the pictures.
