There are no USB ports in the room and there is only one plug in behind the tv to use for charging devices. I know we are on vacation and should not worry about devices but for those who are working you can't charge anything while working at the table in the room. The pool is shaded by the building most of the day so if you are wanting sun plan on staying on the beach, which is beautiful and no seaweed. We were in a room on the wing above the Asian restaurant and the dance bar which was loud until about 2:00 so if you want a quiet room we'd ask for something over the spa. With tile in the halls and rooms and thin windows there is a lot of noise, employees pushing carts and staff sweeping the halls during the night, entertainment music so loud there is no way to watch TV.
We found the food to be very good. The Winds and Sands (adult only) restaurant had the best food for us. The staff were accomidating and very freindly. We had Jorge, Geraldo and Abraham as waiters and the hostess remembered our name and room after the first time we ate there. Restuarant supervisor Sergio was also freidnly and took the time to visit and give us recommendation for while we were there. The hostess at World Café Estefania Aongora always had a smile and pleasant welcoming.
Our check in host RIchard gave us additional information. We checked in during early evening an instead of rushing us to go through the sit down information right away he encouraged us to get settled in and come back when we were ready.
Lobby bar waitresses Veronica and Laura were on top of our drinks. Even though we didn't need a wine concierge Jacky Dorantes always took the time to stop to talk to us.

The resort is in a very good location with private beach front, which is cleaned and well manicured on the daily basis. There are plenty sun lounges at the beach front and around the swimming pools. The beach is shallow and calm, the water is warm all the time. The security is good although it sometimes could be a bit intrusive when you walk around in the early morning or late evening. There are many activities or shows each day to keep you entertained. There are several restaurants serving Asian, Mediterranean, and Mexican cuisines in addition to the all day buffet restaurant and the beach front Barefoot Restaurant, which is brilliant as you could enjoy your lunch on the sun lounge on the beach in your swimming wear. We were upgraded from partial sea view room to the full sea view with balcony, which is spacious and nice although the room is a bit dated. The bathroom shower is over bath with separate hot and cold taps, it’s tricky to adjust the temperature and not to get yourself rained on with either hot or cold water as you have to do it inside the bath because of the glass screen is fixed on the side of the bath to stop you reaching the taps outside the bath. It could be dangerous for children, so I had to prepare the shower for my daughter each time. The cafe shop by side of the lobby is excellent, serving all type of hot drinks, pancakes, ice creams, various cakes, and fruit, all day long. The bar attenders in the lobby and the beach front are very good and friendly, bringing drinks to you as soon as you sit down. I felt all the staff in the resort going their extra way to keep us happy and served. I have to mention Bellboy Juan, who was very helpful and kind to us during our stay, and Sofia at Concierge, who had arranged an excellent birthday celebration for my daughter. I will recommend this resort to anyone planning a holiday to Cancun and we will return to it in the near future.

We changed to Dreams Sands Cancun 5 days before our travel date due to Isaias being in the Eastern Caribbean. Having stayed at numerous Dreams resorts previously and always having a great experience, we kind of just picked this location and hoped for the best. We were not at all disappointed! This is a smaller property but still had all of the amenities we needed. The resort is taking great care to ensure that everyone feels safe in all areas during this crazy year that is 2020.
The Himitsu and El Patio restaurants were closed due to reduced capacity but there were still plenty of other delicious options to chose from each day. The delicious steak at Gaucho's was probably our favorite but we were not disappointed with any of the restaurants or room service. I read a few reviews from other resorts that complained of extra long wait times to get their food during reduced capacity and reduced staffing but we never had that problem. All of our meals were served very quickly.
The beach at Dreams Sands Cancun is fabulous. The water is clear and calm and there is very little seaweed or rocks anywhere. We didn't spend much time in the pools due to the awesome beach but they are clean and relaxing although smaller than most resorts.
Finally, the staff at Dreams Sands Cancun are amazing. All went out of their way to ensure our stay was wonderful. Some that I would like to specifically call out.... Reynoldo from Housekeeping ensured we had everything we needed in our room each day and kept it spotless. Gerson made sure our drinks were never empty for long on the beach each day and Eduardo Rojus made sure that there was nothing we needed to make our stay better. Hostess Angelica and our wait staff of Tito and Alberto at the World Cafe gave us an awesome start each morning. They even brought us a special dessert on our last morning that said "Happy Travels"
Overall, this was a fantastic trip and we would definitely return to Dreams Sands Cancun!

This resort is in the perfect location and because of its proximity to Isla Mujeres has very calm ocean waters. This makes it ideal to take a swim in the fairly warm waters. The Italian and steak restaurants were great, as well as, the breakfast buffet with made to order eggs/omelettes. We weren’t a fan of the themed night buffet because they never had a theme we liked. We upgraded to an ocean front room and the beautiful view did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and very accommodating, especially Oscar at the front desk. We would definitely stay again.

I brought a group of employees to celebrate achieving a big milestone in our company. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed celebrating as a group. The service of the employees of the resort was the high point. The concierge Jorge was incredible and even came in on his day off to check on an issue for us. The sommelier did a great job at pairing wines with our meal - I'm in love with Casa Madero wines! They did some extra special touches to make our event more special including dinner on the beach. What an amazing time. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa service. I think everyone in our group went!
I would encourage the company to invest a bit more in the actual hotel rooms themselves. Little touches like new shower heads, anti-scald faucets in the showers and actual doors to the toilet area would be appreciated, especially by American tourists. Also the key to my room stopped working 4 times in a 6 day trip. I think if you can fix some of those issues you'd make it that much better.

Spent 7 days with the family the 2nd week of July. Overall the cleanliness and set up of the hotel and property was very good. All employees wore masks, there were plenty of sanitizing stations, silverware was delivered in paper bags...etc. Well done!
The employees were very friendly. Jose, Carlos and Sabrina of the Activities Team did a great job.
Most disappointing was the food. While I expected the buffet to no longer be self-serve; the food variety was poor and repeated nearly every day. Much of it seemed as if it was pre-frozen and thawed the day of. My "beef ravioli" at Portofino was literally a small piece of flavorless hamburger inside a ravioli. The 4 Cheese lasagna was disappointing. As someone who has stayed at many Dreams resorts, I didn't not expect the food to be this poor.
On the bright side, this was by far the best beach I have visited in Cancun. White sands, clear water and about 100 ft from shore before the water rose to your chest.

We were looking for an all inclusive family friendly resort to take our daughters 8 and 12 to escape a cold Kansas winter...we found a great deal at Dreams Sands! Transfer from the airport using recommended Amstar shuttle was easy and seamless. We were greeted at the resort by very friendly and helpful staff. We chose the Preferred Club level and highly recommend it! Our concierge Roger went above and beyond for us - transferring us to a larger room when we realized our original room wasn’t going to be big enough for the four of us. Ended up in a newly remodeled junior suite - perfect for us! We used the preferred club lounge everyday and we were blown away by the service there - special shout out to Armando Vega who was very sweet to our daughters. Breakfast in the Mediterranean restaurant was our favorite followed by dinners in the Italian eatery. There was plenty of room at the resort to move around but not so large that our girls got lost. There were daily activities on the pool deck that were entertaining but not intrusive. One special night there was Mexican dancing and a mariachi band, so fun! We will be back again soon no doubt!

The staff in the hotel were very attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was average. The housekeeping staff were very good, rooms were always extremely clean. We chose to change rooms during our stay to get a balcony and the concierge staff in the preferred club were extremely accommodating. Fernando and Mary Cruz took care our room change seamlessly, as well as handling all other needs that came up cheerfully and efficiently. Bonita at the towel desk was a bright spot in the day, especially friendly, even teaching me a few spanish words. The beach was incredibly beautiful, pure white sand and clear turquoise water.

Had a great 2020 New Years vacation at the Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa! We went with 2 other families and the hotel & restaurant staff were awesome in accommodating all our requests including having rooms close to each other & eating together (group of 13). Our hotel rooms were nice and clean but could use some updating. But the staff at the hotel & restaurants totally made up for our room’s state of the art ambiance. Can’t say enough good things about them!!!
The beach entertainment crew totally made my stay a memorable one! Carlos (aka Charlie), Marco, Jose, Luis, Mika, Ana & Tania were so much fun, warm & inviting to ensure all us ‘beach & pool goers ’ had a fun time and kept us entertained with various water & beach activities. My personal favorite was water aerobics with Charlie & Marco!
Our New Year’s concierge was amazing as well! He went above & beyond to ensure we had a great 2020 New Year’s experience and rest of our hotel stay. As luck would have it, the one evening it rained was New Year’s night. The hotel staff worked for “HOURS” making a magical outdoor experience under the stars for their guests. When it was time for the big night, the pool side turned into dining elegance with all the New Year’s glitz & glam! Thoughtfully thought out, we had amazing food with dish presentation, plentiful drink selections (including the best champagne & tequila money could buy), live music and entertainment & midnight fireworks. Just after the second course (soup) was served, old man weather had other plans for this magical night and proceeded to rain (down pour) on our parade. The hotel staff swiftly moved into action rescuing its guests with umbrellas and places to take cover. After drying off all the chairs, resetting the many tables, dinner & dessert were finally served while the entertainment finished bedazzling us.
Old man weather still HAD to have a last laugh with another rainy stint so the hotel staff quickly switched gears & moved the party inside. We danced the night while the drinks kept flowing! Luckily, the rain seized for the midnight fireworks debut while we took off our shoes, put our toes in the wet sand, and watched the firework count down into 2020 overlooking the ocean with glistening stars in our eyes. Dreams Sands Resort & Staff definitely outdid themselves while the rest of us dreamed of champagne, tequila shots, and dancing the night away. (Personally, I dreamed of Charlie leading the pack with Marco, Luis & Jose engaging us all in our late morning aerobics in the serene ocean with a mimosa in my hand.)

If you want to travel and feel secure that the facilities are clean...this is the place! The staff is constantly cleaning...deep clean. One person from our group is a self-proclaimed germaphobe and cleans her entire room with Clorox wipes immediately upon check-in. She said that she cleaned the balcony railing and not one spot of dust was on the wipe. She was very impressed with the cleanliness.
The beach is by far the cleanest and calmest section of the hotel zone. Perfect for the whole family as there are almost zero waves. Great for snorkeling or just floating.
The staff is absolutely amazing! They definitely went the extra mile to make us comfortable and relaxed. The main bar in the lobby, Oscar and Yamile always made a point to say hello to us as soon as we sat down. After they learned what we typically ordered they would ask us if we wanted our usual. Yamile is a workhorse. She was constantly showing up in other places working or giving breaks. She made me an amazing crepe and later in the bar asked if it was good. She is on the top of her game!
We had several restaurants we enjoyed for the delicious food and top notch staff. Eduardo, Josue, Gregorio, and Stephania all took outstanding care of us.
On the beach and around the pool area, Gerson and Jorge Vargas were the best! They were bringing drinks to us faster than we could drink them! They will even bring you food from the grill to the beach! There were several times we would be chatting and me or my friend would be standing and they would get us a chair without us even asking! That kind of service is rare in the US!
The entire staff worked tirelessly to keep the facilities beautiful. They sweep off the lounge chairs every night. Rake the beach every morning. They cut coconuts out of the palm trees every morning. They vacuum the pool every morning. It is clean!
These folks are being hit hard by the economic crisis. I hope more people will travel and show support to these tourist dependent areas.
