Rooms are in cottages in the jungle grounds. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful grounds and a well maintained pool. Good restaurant and a great place from which to explore Chichen Itza. Staff were very friendly and you could get wifi.
Thank Alan J

A very luxurious hotel but the price is shocking too, especially if you move from northern part of Mexico to this southern area. Suddenly everything looks so expensive including the meals in this hotel. Most items priced in USD. The price of a bottle of...More
For the best Chichen Itza experience, it is best to be there first thing in the morning, so I booked 2 rooms for the 4 of us at Hacienda Chichen. This place is incredible! The main building has a restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner by...More

I first noticed this amazing Hacienda when some friends were guests and I was lodged across the street at a different hotel and I was really jealous as the landscaped gardens and pool looked amazing. Luckily, I had the chance to visit the Hacienda again...More

Not much to add here; the back entrance is a walk through from the gardens to the right from the hotel and you arrive (after a while) behind one of the pyramids i.e. free entry! I had just gone for a walk so it was a surprise-8am, no stalls or people about. The pool is about 20m rectangular and the best we came across in our tour. Don't stay in a basic room-they are what they say i.e. basic and lack fridge/coffee making and bath. We actually found some of the staff unhelpful and our dinner was spoilt by pressure to tip and annoying serenading, again for money. Breakfast is to order i.e. no buffet and limited. Overall though a great location, pretty, photogenic hacienda, lovely grounds with iguana and birds and good pool.

My family (my husband and myself, two adult children & their friend) stayed at Hacienda Chichen in December 2015. We didn't have any issues with communication; the hotel was prompt with information and rates. We reserved two rooms that each had two double beds in them that were in the same building, which worked fine. As I remember, these are called "cottages," but are really just rooms. I can't remember if there were any real cottages w/multiple rooms in them. Rooms are fine but spare, restaurant is OK but expensive, the grounds are nice, as is the pool. The real bonus to staying there is getting in the back door to the ruins and not fighting car or people traffic if you go first thing in the morning.
