Hotel's Favourite
Many hotels promise you to reconnect with yourself and with nature while offering an exclusive experience. Hotel B Cozumel and Hotel Be Unique both offer and deliver on this promise. Excellent service, beautiful facilities, affordable prices, conscious staff and management, all on the edge of the bluest waters you've ever seen. I stayed there with my wife for our birthdays and spent all the time I could snorkeling, totally mesmerized by the living reef. When I wasn't pretending to be a fish I was relaxing on the floating deck, taking an amazing yoga class with the tremendous Mars Yogi, or enjoying the delicious Matcha Cheesecake at their restaurant before heading to a chillaxing evening with their live DJ. Honorable mentions: Waiters: Armando, Marín and Daniel. Front desk: Gaby Bellboy: Jesus (who even remembered us from our last visit) And Beatriz, the owner, who is an absolutely outstanding host.

Dear H9817SWandrewb:: Thank you very much for taking a few minutes and letting us know about your pleasant experience. I am really pleased that your stay has been totally satisfactory in all aspects, starting with the comfort of your room, the attention of each person who works here, the various food options in our restaurant, meditation, yoga and musical experiences. . It makes me very happy to know that you had the experience of snorkeling right in front of the property, it is a quite varied and very beautiful reef. I am sure that we will see you very soon, what we want is to receive you with open arms and make you feel at home. I will gladly share your review with everyone and especially with those mentioned here, I am sure you will be very happy to know that you left a mark with your attention and service. My friends and I booked 2 rooms. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, there were multiple duplicate charges on both bills. We were charged 360 pesos for cucumber garnish on my drinks. Charged for alcoholic beverages for the kids. They added additional tips to the bills. Crooked crooked crooked. When we said we wanted it fixed they threatened to call the police. Hotel rooms were basic on the "family" side, not very family friendly. The pool was nice, decent snorkeling, no beach. Would not stay again.

Dear sydneycN1012AE: Thank you very much for sharing your experience here, I am sorry that it was not as you expected. I would like to clarify that our team is very professional when making food and beverage charges. We had not received this type of comments before, each ticket that was shown to you upon your departure had the necessary signatures of each guest in the rooms, therefore it guarantees that you consumed the drink or food on the day. I am sorry that it was not as clear as you would have liked, but I guarantee that no double charges are made for any reason, each food and drink was from different days during your stay. Hopefully you can come back in the future and I promise that your experience will be different. Kind regards Suamy Ruiz General Manager

The service was non-existent with the exception of one gentleman, Fabian, that was serving us by the pool. The food was average at best. If you do stay at the hotel, I would suggest going into to town for meals. Breakfast is included but watch out for the hidden charges and again, the service is so poor it can take 30-60 minutes to get water or coffee after being seated at your table. We could not understand why because the restaurant was certainly not busy. One morning I had to ask 4 different servers to get our coffee and juice. Ended up going to the bar to get the juice. The room had a nice view of the ocean however the bed was certainly dated as the mattress sank in the middle. The bathroom smelled like sewage where we had to throw towels over the drains to reduce the foul odour. They provide portable water in a jar when they clean the room however for one day they did not return to clean our room and therefore we had no water for the day. There are no mini bars so if you want to chill your water our other beverage, you will have to ask room service to send up ice. One evening was loud with music blaring until midnight for 4 guests. Thereafter, they seemed to continue the party in their own room with loud music. Surprised the hotel staff did not contact them to lower the volume. Went on until 1am. Finally, the checkout was an arduous process as their itemized bill is broken down differently from the signed receipts. Spent 45 minutes going through the bill which was correct with the exception of the breakfast where we were charged for additional items the same day we had to run around to find servers. The positive is that they removed the breakfast charge but it was a small amount compared to our bar bill. PS On check-in they took copies of our passports as well as wrote down the details of my credit card. Working in the finance sector, this is a huge risk for identity theft and credit card fraud. On check-out I requested the copies of our passports so that we could destroy them as well as removed my credit card details from their registration form. DS

Dear briky69: Dear guest: I really appreciate your time to let us know all your comments. I am very pleased to know that our facilities were your liking. I sincerely apologize if the service obtained in the restaurant did not meet your expectations, I will personally review in detail what is happening in terms of time and attitudes with the staff in general, this is not admissible since our concept is to do it more personalized and clearly it is something they are not obtaining and I am very sorry that you have gone through this. I will gladly write down your observation regarding the breakdown of the invoices upon departure, I cannot allow you to spend 45 min checking that the tickets are correct and are the same as those that are printed. Finally, I would like to clarify that when we check in we ask for this information in order to have a better control of the people who are staying at our property and prevent visitors from accessing the areas to which it is not allowed. It is very clear to me that your experience was not what you expected and I really regret it, I hope that in the future you can give us a second chance and make you live a better stay. I am totally at your disposal Greetings Suamy ruiz

The hotel bar has regular DJ's, especially Friday through Sunday, and they will play until past midnight. If this is not your thing, you should not stay here. This is exactly my thing, so even though I had not been the one to choose this hotel, I am SO glad we all ended up here. Located at the west end of Cozumel, this puts you about two - three miles from ferry/downtown core. It is also RIGHT on the water with a beautiful view across the Caribbean to Playa del Carmen. Taxis wait outside, so getting one to downtown is easy, and costs only a few dollars. A disadvantage of the location is that it is not near liquor and convenience stores. The restaurant itself is great, as is the bar; however, you pay inflated/U.S. equivalent prices for drinks. I noticed criticism of the bar and waitstaff in other reviews, however, I never experienced anything like that. My experiences were overwhelmingly positive. In fact, we visited the pool to listen to the late night DJ but the bar was closing up. So the manager agreed to prepare and bring us enough drinks in advance to keep us happy, so we basically made a huge order, and then drank them over the course of the next couple hours. This is essentially two sister hotels on the same property "Cozumel" and "Unique" this side has the family pool and hot tub and a couple different entrances to the ocean. The other side "Unique" has the bar/restaurant, adults-only pool, and DJ. The rooms in this side are older and have less stylish decoration. One note of caution - there is a small semi-enclosed natural rock pool that you can walk into in order to swim to the open sea. This pool has A LOT of urchins in it and because of wave froth aren't always visible. The hotel really should scoop them out into the open sea. You definitely don't want to step on one of those things. Another cool thing to note, esp. if you love swimming in the sea - There are small rock ledges and piers to run and jump off into the sea, a floating platform about 50 feet from the hotel that has some cushions to lounge on. The current can run quick, so take care to note how strong it is. At night, some amazing undersea creatures, including light-up squid-like creatures and jellies can be seen with snorkel and powerful underwater flashlight.

Dear w0derl0st: I thank you very much for taking the space to let us know your experience, I am very happy to know that your stay was very satisfactory and that you enjoyed some of the entertainment activities; We try to prepare and liven up the atmosphere a bit with this type of musical event. How incredible that the facilities have been to your total liking, including the jacuzzy and the infinity pool, I hope you have been able to enjoy snorkeling right in front of the property, fortunately we have a small but very nice reef area to see a little of the variety of fish. Nothing like enjoying a sunset right on the platform or simply from the deck or one of the pools. Thank you for choosing us; I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again. Receives a warm greeting Suamy Ruiz General Manager
