Everything here is clean and beautiful. We booked our trip though Expedia. I wondered if this would affect check in, but it didn't at all. We arrived about 2 hours before the official check in time. The staff stored our luggage and allowed us to use the resort facilities while we waited. Every single person we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless with a gorgeous ocean view. The buffet was typical buffet food with the added bonus of excellent service by the staff. The Mexican restaurant was only ok, but the Italian restaurant was delicious. The beach is pristine and leads to some great snorkeling. There is a coffee shop that serves delicious hand crafted drinks as well as soft serve ice cream and gelato. Don't hesitate to book this resort!

The best thing about this hotel was the close proximity to the airport & downtown. The worst was the food, breakfast was about the only thing I could fill up on. The pools are nice and the VERY SMALL beach is well maintained. The beds are extremely firm and they offer no toppers. We paid for an ocean view and our view ended up being the numerous cruise ships and the cruise port directly in front of the pool/beach area. I have been to different areas of Mexico many times and Cozumel is beautiful just not at this resort. My last comment is the about the tunnel you take to the beach, yes I said tunnel! You will sit seaside next to the road just above you, so if the noise of traffic while trying to relax on the beach is your idea of paradise then this resort is for you.

We are currently staying at the resort. It has been great so far. All the staff is friendly and great. It is our 15 visit. The staff is so nice to us. The bell guys, Luis and Clemente and others are always greeting us and take care of our bags. Maria at front desk was nice. Aldo in the lobby bar always ask if we need anything. Then the bar staff, Carlos, Manuel are great . Carlos(Charie Brown) at snackbar is wonderful. Marribel at the omelette station is super friendly and great cook. Vanissa and Cosmo on the beach service is walking and working hard every day like all the workers and they always say hi…

This is our 4th visit. We love staying on the top floor to enjoy the amazing view. This time, big mistake. 3 of the 4 elevators were non-operational. The small elevator had to be shared with guests and staff (with housekeeping carts). I actually felt bad when the staff would allow guests to get on the elevator and wait for it to come back. In addition, the one working elevator would frequently get stuck on the 5th floor. My husband actually took the stairs to the 5th floor to bring the elevator down, and take the stairs down to the 5th floor to bring the elevator up. Not good in the main building which has 9 floors and more than 20 rooms per floor. The only saving grace was that the resort was at reduced capacity, or the issue would have been worse. The other issue that we saw was that the food at The Veranda (the buffet) was sub-par. In the past, the food was a good variety and very tasty. We always enjoyed coming to dinner in order to taste the Mexican take on the food. On this trip, it just wasn't as good as it has been in the past. We did eat at the Mexican and Italian restaurant, and the food at the two restaurants was good. We took a taxi to town to eat at a downtown restaurant on a couple of occasions. On the flip side, service was excellent. In addition, from the hallway windows on the top floor, we could see that one of the three gigantic commercial airhandlers was not operational. That could explain why the room wasn't as cold as it usually was, and unbearably hot one day. I understand the challenges of operation during Covid, but some of these issues could have been avoided. Put the majority of the guests on the first or second floor, and explain to everyone the issues with the elevator up front and let the guests decide if they want to be above the 2nd floor. Regarding the food, have the management staff (to include the chefs) taste the food and decide it is is worth sending out to the guests. The resort also allows local vendors to come in and set up stands in the evening. The vendors were nice, but pushy. We always referred to passing through the vendor area to get to the beach side to see the sunset as "running the gauntlet". Still a beautiful resort, but will consider other options for future visits.
