Sandy beaches, stunning sunsets, and beautiful blue waters. All are on vibrant display at our tropical guest house at Los Alcatraces on Cozumel, Mexico’s largest Caribbean island.
Perfect for a romantic getaway, our accommodations give you the privacy and safety of your own place, plus the convenience of having knowledgeable hosts on-site.
Structured like a small boutique Hotel, each of our two en-suite bedrooms have their own private entrance. Guests share the pool, garden, and covered patio.
HOTEL QUALITY WITH THE COMFORTS OF HOME
The bedroom features a queen-sized bed with butter soft, 1000-thread count Egyptian cotton linens you can sink into after a long day. There is plenty of closet space for you to store your belongings as well as a locked safe for your more precious items. For an extra jolt in the morning, brew a fresh cup of organic coffee from Chiapas in the comfort of your own room.
The en-suite bathroom is stocked with toiletries and towels so you don’t need to worry about taking up space in your suitcase!
THE GREAT OUTDOORS...AND WE MEAN GREAT!
Our relaxing garden is the perfect backdrop to start your day, watching hummingbirds whilst you sip your morning coffee.
Since the average daily temperature in Cozumel is 75°F (24°C) or higher year-round, you’ll want to take a dip in our refreshing pool to cool down. We also have lounge chairs for you to work on your tan, too.
If you would rather explore the Technicolor coral reefs in the Caribbean, we also have a rinse tank and clothesline to wash and dry your scuba gear after a busy day of diving.
THE REAL COZUMEL
Our guest house is located within walking distance of the town center. We’re just far enough away from all of the tourists to give you a taste of the real Cozumel. You can mingle with the locals at nearby markets and enjoy authentic cuisine.
Cozumel is a scuba diver’s paradise! The island offers an array of beaches (many of the “iron-shore” variety), each teeming with intricate coral reefs and endless sightings of beautiful marine life.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience on the beach, head over to a Beach Club. For a small fee, you can rent a lounge chair and unwind under the shade of a thatched roof.
Whether you’re coming to get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life, or to explore the beauty Cozumel has to offer, we are here to assist you every step of the way.
Cindy and Dan are very gracious hosts along with being friendly, kind and giving! A friend and I stayed for 11 days in December. The outdoor kitchen and garden area were quiet and fun to be in. The kitchen area is adequate for cooking full meals. Two discount mega stores are nearby. Security is excellent, a safe in every room, plenty of storage. Coffee provided was excellent. Internet access was great and steady Bring your netflix log in then to log out you need to change your password. Only suggestion would be a bubble cover for the pool to warm it and help keep debris out. Great stay I'm certain we will return
My wife and I stayed at this place....we LOVED it! If the trappings of a big resort, loud music & pool-bar are what you crave...this isn't that place. This location is off the main Blvd...a few blocks from the beach and shopping. We were very pleased with our accommodations. The quaint pool was inviting, but we never did try it out...too many other things to do while there. Our room was wonderful...clean, quaint & cold as we wanted it to be with either the ceiling fan or the remote controlled a\c unit. Very gracious hosts!! After a restful night sleep (those blackout curtains are amazing) we sat outside our rooms to take in the beauty & fresh ocean air. A hummingbird fluttered in the flowered vines just outside our room. A lil iguana also made an appearrance. We walkled the few blocks to a seaside restaurant named Jeanie's...the best waffles anywhere. On the walk over we were greeted with so many "buenos diaz" by the locals...I enjoyed that immensely. We couldn't have found a MORE "off the beaten path" tranquil location. Oh....& we did get a picture of that hummingbird that we'll have framed. Cindy, Dan (the owners)....please know that your love of this place, the community & your guests is reflected in how the return to the "Rat-Race"! Our batteries were re-charged....thanks to you & this lil gem of a paradise you call....Los Alcatraces. As a side-note...we don't snorkle or scuba-dive but this place is all set up to rinse off & handle your equipment if you do.…
Pretty cool place with color ambience and stylish decor. Spacious bedroom and bath unit just beside the main house with a courtyard full of greenery, coffee bar, kitchenette with large fridge, sun area, and lovely plung pool all at your fingertips. Feel secure with a ten foot wall surround and gate. Hosts provide abundance of info of where to go, to eat, and how to get there. Lots of resource for exploring all of beautiful Cozemel island. It's a great place, with a central location, at a very affordable price. With only two units, so you have plenty of privacy. Don't hesitate.
Los Alcatraces is at a perfect location, very easy to get around and walking distance to awesome bars and restaurants. This place is great, very clean and has everything you need. Dan & Cindy were also very helpful and welcoming from the beginning “welcome chalkboard” to “personalized shell gifts” and hugs when we were leaving. Always available at all times whenever I had any questions. This is the 2nd time my friends and I have stayed with them and both times were perfect. Totally recommend it.
My go-to hotel used the covid situation to make some renovations, so I decided to give Los Alcatraces a try. What a lovely surprise! The hosts live there, so it’s quiet and safe. There are only two rooms, so it’s cozy. The pool and patio areas are great places for solitude or to get to know the hosts and other guests. The property is tucked away inside the neighborhood, so you are part of Cozumel rather than a tourist, and just about everything you need is within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and have little touches of home to make your travel a little easier. The one thing I missed from my hotel stay was breakfast, either something prepared or a way to make something. As I was leaving, Dan was building a kitchenette. That may be the breakfast solution I needed. Give them a chance. You won’t regret it!…
