We had a delightful time together as a family. The staff was courteous and it's a beautiful place. The problem began when we received our credit card statement and we were overcharged by $300. Numerous calls to Hotels.com AND calls to Mia accomplished nothing despite burning up lots of time. Very frustrating. The overcharge is clear based on documentation that is obvious. We were told that it was due to foreign exchange -- which mathematically cannot account for $300. I feel very ripped off.

This was such an amazing family trip that far exceeded my expectations. I was a little nervous about traveling and staying in a room with our 2 & 4 year old but it couldn't have turned out more perfect. The beach, the activities, the pool, the food set up was so perfect. The highlight of our trip was the last night with the Disney character performance. But every second was magical.

Keep in mind - you come here for the beach! However, as frequent travelors of the caribbean we were so pleasently surprised with the service - especially want to give a huge shout out to Cirilo in the bar, Eduardo and Luis are amazing bartenders, Nubar and Jose Sierra in the front. anything we ever needed, they were there. The cevicheria and their staff are incredible as well! the servers are awesome. The food was really good. Just got to find qhat you like. I would stay here again 💯

After a great stay we decided to buy a membership, DON’T DO IT! I was excited to bring some friends back and use my benefits. I booked two rooms for 8 people. I paid my invoice immediately. We ended up needing to cancel the trip for personal reasons and I reached out asking what the policy was. He sent me the policy and I was within the timeframe for a full refund. It has been 6 weeks and I am still waiting for over $4,000!! all they keep saying is it has been sent to accounting department for review. It was paid via credit card, seems to me they can just push a button and refund the money. The communication in general has been terrible and we only get responses after getting pushy. Many of times emails would be rejected and I would get an error email. I feel as though I have been scammed and definitely not treated as a club member!…

Top notch service! Over the years we have seen some staff leave Mia and it’s been hard to see that happen. The staff and the beach are the reasons we chose Mia Reef! Both make you feel like you are coming home. We were thrilled to see our favorite Israel is still at Mia Reef! He makes everyday perfect! He anticipates your every need and always treats us like family! Best server we’ve ever had over many countries we have visited!

Obviously choices and taste differ. The extraordinary high reviews were main teason for booking. My perception of reality of this place pretty much matches with the “terrible” scares which I found the most accurate. PROs: The hotel is nested on an island of the IM island. The beach is nice in theory (will come to that later). View from Ocean view is lovely. CONs: 1) CheckIn: You need to fill a COVID form and provide your private mail for “security” reasons. Being on a roundtrip no other Mexican hotel asked for that. You get an intro to hotel facilities, a senseless resto reservation process and numerous invitations for a club membership. You are asked to immediately book a 90mins appointment for the club membership. 2) Dirt: Literally this place is snowed in bird poo. Yes great to have birdlife but no one cares about cleaning, all like ALL tables, chairs, sunbeds are covered. When asked for cleaning you get grumpy views. The pier looks nice from far but you can’t walk on it due to poo everywhere. The beach is not maintained neither cleaned. 3) Food: Should’ve known better that All-In means cheap cantine food. There are NO options for vegetarians other than pasta with butter (unfortunately not joking). Drinks are low level. And not my type of place and vacation to get drunk before breakfast. 4) Attitude: running a hotel and serving paying guests is not the core business here, it’s selling memberships, I assume timesharing. Drinks, sunbeds, reservations, snorkel prices etc. you pay moon prices when not a member. Gave me the feeling of scam and disrespect. 5) Value: I find it hard to believe anyone would seriously consider returning to this place. As said, perception, taste and expectations may differ. However, the relatively high price is by no means justifiable. There are amazing 5*, non All-In resorts in Mex/Quintana Roo for less than half price of this one.…

Wait staff Reyes, Roberto excellent. Tell people if they have their own snorkeling equipment to take it. My husband could not use the cheap equipment provided by the company due to his past broken nose so he missed the whole excursion. Money wasted and we had our gear in our room we could have taken. Mia Reef was great. We joined the club.

Alejandro and his team at the restaurants were amazing. They were very attentive and the service was great. We are at both the steak restaurant and the Mexican restaurant. We were seated on time and all of the staff were attentive. The crepe dessert was so good I got it both nights.

Mia Reef has a great Bay Area, for which is why we decided to stay at Mia. We booked the Villa Ocean Front. It was just 2 people, me and my husband. Room was very small, bathroom really small. The shower was a triangle, which was hard to manage. We are not big people, which we did not understand how they would sell it as a villa and still have it so small. This was villa 2012. We do not recommend it. Positive: The view and the bay. Wading in the bay is fantastic. The La Maria’s restaurant for Grill or Mexican is ok. The servers are great! Beach service is good and everyone is trying hard. Golf cart rental was easy. Negative: Front Desk does not explain anything, you have to find out as you go. The Buffet for breakfast, lunch or dinner is mediocre. We loved to see the terns ( hundreds of birds), nesting on the oven side. The smell is terrible and we felt bad for anyone with rooms right there. Would we come back? No, the lack of options for food sealed it.…

Celebrating girlfriends birthday and wow what a experience basically the staff made it worth wild. The house keeper to the servers from the beach to the restaurants with 2nd to none. The only complain i have was the amount of pressure they give you trying to see you the vip Mia club. They wouldn’t take a no for anything. I literally had to leave with a anger rage n almost leave the resort because i felt belittled. The pressure they demand on you isn’t worth the free gifts which is why i return the free offer. But, that doesn’t take away from the place and staff. I ultimately admired our beach attendee Israel. It was my gf birthday and i mentioned it out of conversation and he went out of his way to gather other staff to make it special by providing her favorite shot and desert. She cried of happiness.
